He was swarmed, overwhelmed, and relentlessly beaten down from all sides— Until he was finally defeated. "RAAAHHH!" Seraphina let out a deafening roar that shook the skies. She shot upward, wings flaring wide, then dove straight at the Leviathan hero like a green comet. BOOM! At the same time, her right hand—transformed into a massive dragon claw—suddenly ignited with blazing Sacred Realm energy. The raw power radiating from it was terrifying, the air around her warping from the sheer intensity. Then— The sky trembled. Her claw slashed through the void and came crashing down like divine judgment. THUD! The Leviathan hero was slammed into the ground like he’d been hit by a nuclear warhead. Seraphina’s monstrous claw pierced straight through his body, pinning him to the earth like a nail through wood. "RUMMMMMMBLE..." The entire battlefield shook violently. Cracks split the ground in every direction, deep chasms opening up like the earth itself was breaking apart. It was as if Seraphina’s strike had nearly shattered the world. "We did it!" Ethan shouted, his voice trembling with excitement. He clenched his fists tight, eyes blazing with adrenaline and disbelief. His face lit up with pure, unfiltered joy. They had just taken down a Crimson Ultimate hero—someone who, after their second awakening, was powerful enough to be considered a god. And now, they’d killed him. They had just pulled off a godslaying. And right then, the sound Ethan had been waiting for finally chimed in his ears. Ding! "Congratulations! With the Leviathan hero’s death, a massive wave of experience points was distributed among Seraphina, Cicero, and the others, pushing them all up several levels. Seraphina jumped three levels to 48. Cicero shot up five levels to 44. Ethan couldn’t stop grinning. His face practically lit up like a kid on Christmas morning. "No wonder he was a Crimson Ultimate hero... He gave more XP than that Level 70-something Kairos guy," Ethan muttered with a chuckle, still riding the high. They’d had a whole squad sharing the kill on that Leviathan hero—Seraphina, Cicero, Kyros, Bronze Golem Karnak, the Dragonblood Elf Lilith, the unicorn Elyra... hell, even Ethan himself had chipped in. And yet, despite so many people splitting the XP, they’d all still leveled up a good amount. High risk, high reward—no doubt about it. Ethan couldn’t help but grin from ear to ear. Sure, they’d probably lost a decent number of regular troops in the fight, but as long as the Hero Units were leveling up, it was more than worth it. Besides, the real prize wasn’t even the XP. The real jackpot was the S-rank hidden chain quest tied to the Gem Dragon Isles. A quest of that caliber? There was no way it wouldn’t pay off big. But just as Ethan was basking in the afterglow of victory, something completely unexpected happened. Ding! "Alert: Player Valkarion, your enemy, Leviathan Hero Thal’Zar, has chosen to resurrect. Then, without hesitation, he charged—launching straight into another round of battle. "He actually... he actually came back?!" Ethan was genuinely thrown off. He hadn’t expected this at all. Thal’Zar was seriously choosing to revive and fight again, even if it meant risking another death and losing levels? He’d assumed that once they killed Thal’Zar, the guy would do what Kairos the Naga Swordmaster had done—tuck his tail between his legs, stay dead, and maybe try to negotiate later. That would’ve been the smart move. The safe move. But nope. Thal’Zar didn’t even hesitate. He just came right back swinging. "...Damn, he’s got guts," Ethan muttered, but then a wide, wicked grin spread across his face. "Actually, this is perfect. If we can kill him a few more times, Seraphina might hit level 50!" Hell yes. Sure, Thal’Zar’s move was bold—borderline insane, even—but for Ethan? It was a gift. If the guy kept coming back for more, he was basically turning himself into a walking, talking XP piñata. And Ethan was more than happy to keep swinging. This was gonna be fun. Ethan’s brow furrowed. "That’s it? That XP feels kinda... low." He muttered to himself, eyes narrowing thoughtfully. Last time, Seraphina and Cicero had each leveled up by three or four levels. But now? Just one. Even accounting for diminishing returns or slightly different conditions, that still felt off. Ding!
