Chapter 241: Infernal... Judgment!

Words : 1528 Updated : Oct 1st, 2025
Chapter 241: Infernal... Judgment!"Gold... Gold Dragon..." Down on the shattered ground, amid the ruins, Azrak clenched his teeth, glaring furiously at the spot where he’d just been standing. And there it was — a majestic, awe-inspiring Gold Dragon had appeared out of nowhere! It was Auremax! Sure, Auremax wasn’t nearly as powerful as a second-awakened orange-tier Legendary Hero, but still — first, it was a sneak attack, and second, Azrak was a mage-type Hero Unit. His body was ridiculously fragile! If he got hit even once, the damage would be brutal. And just like that, Auremax had landed a full-force strike — Azrak was almost knocked unconscious on the spot. But before he could even recover, while his attention was still locked on Auremax, a winged figure silently swooped in from behind, moving like a shadow of death. "Holy Armament!" "Judgment of Light!" BOOM! A massive sword of pure light materialized in the sky, blazing with searing, terrifying Celestial Fire. It came crashing down with devastating force, slamming straight into Azrak before he even realized what was happening. THUD! The ground shook violently, like an earthquake had just hit. When the dust settled, a massive crater had been gouged into the earth — a deep, gaping pit. At the bottom of it, Efreet Azrak lay sprawled among the rubble, battered and broken, his body covered in wounds. His eyes were glassy, dazed — he clearly hadn’t even processed what had just happened. Thing was, Ethan’s strength these days might seem low-key, easy to overlook — But in reality, he wasn’t much weaker than Auremax or Balthazar anymore. First off, Ethan was now a Level 45 orange-tier Legendary Hero — A-rank. Sure, he hadn’t undergone his second awakening yet, but was he strong? Hell yeah, he was strong. Taking on three to five Tier-14 Mythic Units solo? Child’s play. And with the insane stat boosts from his Divine Angel Set — even if it was only half the full set — he could absolutely go toe-to-toe with a Level 50+ orange-tier Legendary Hero and hold his own. That was the real reason he had the guts to roam around on his own now. His power, just a step below a second-awakened orange-tier Legendary Hero, was more than enough to carve out a foothold for himself in the world of Glory Lords X. As for poor Efreet Azrak — first he got blindsided by Auremax, then he took a full-force sneak attack from Ethan. Honestly, the fact he wasn’t dead on the spot was a miracle. No serious injuries? Yeah, right. There was no way he was walking away from this without being seriously messed up. "Good thing he’s a mage-type Hero. Otherwise, this would’ve been a real pain..." Ethan let out a small breath of relief as he watched the scene unfold. Taking down an orange-tier Legendary Hero like this would definitely make the rest of the mission a whole lot easier. Honestly though, people always said mage-type Hero Units were more dangerous, more intimidating than warrior-types. But if you asked Ethan? He’d rather face a second-awakened mage any day over a second-awakened warrior. Take Thalric, the Naga Swordmaster from the Crimsonstar Kingdom — perfect example. That guy was a nightmare. Tough as hell, took forever to kill, and his close-combat skills were absolutely brutal. One slip-up, and you were toast. Mages, on the other hand? Sure, they packed a punch from a distance, but up close? They were squishy as hell. Terrible at melee. And that was a fatal weakness. If you caught them off guard, you could turn the whole fight around — just like now. "Kyros, he’s all yours," Ethan said, summoning Kyros out with a flick of his hand. He wanted to leave the finishing blow to Kyros. Kyros wasn’t exactly one of Emerald Castle’s "priority" units for leveling up, but still — a Crimson Ultimate Hero was a Crimson Ultimate Hero. Every level he gained meant a massive boost in power. Getting Kyros leveled up fast was way more important than padding Ethan’s own stats right now. "Yes, Master!" Kyros answered eagerly, practically bouncing forward toward the crater where Azrak lay. THUD. As Kyros stepped forward, the rain-soaked ground seemed to come alive. Water surged and roared, twisting upward into the sky. In no time, a colossal tsunami — easily thousands of feet high — towered over the battlefield. It radiated a terrifying, overwhelming pressure. "Cri... Crimson Ultimate Hero?!" Azrak’s pupils shrank to pinpricks, and his heart plummeted into despair. He never imagined there’d be a Crimson Ultimate Hero hiding here! And worse — just like Efreet units were natural enemies of Constructs, the Kirin race, masters of water and nature, were the absolute bane of fire-based units like him. But realizing that now was way too late. BOOM! The monstrous tsunami came crashing down with earth-shattering force, roaring like a god’s wrath unleashed. It slammed into the crater with devastating impact, the sheer weight and pressure of the water tearing into Azrak’s body like a black hole swallowing everything in its path. The force was like a meteor slamming into the earth — unstoppable, merciless. VMMM! In just a few seconds, Azrak’s body dissolved into a flash of white light — killed instantly, sent straight back to the Inferno respawn point. At the same moment, Kyros’s level shot up like a rocket — Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh — all the way to Level 28! BOOM! Kyros’s whole body trembled as a surge of raw power flooded through him. He could feel himself getting stronger — a lot stronger — and he turned to Ethan, his voice practically shaking with excitement. "Master! I can feel it — I’ve gotten way stronger!" "Don’t get too excited just yet," Ethan chuckled, pointing ahead at the battlefield. Hundreds of 11-Tier Efreet and 12-Tier Efreet Sultans were still standing there, looking lost and leaderless after Azrak’s death. Sure, without Azrak’s buffs, their combat strength had dropped back to basic levels — but their EXP? That hadn’t changed one bit. In Ethan’s eyes, these guys were nothing but walking, breathing EXP piñatas. And there was no way he was gonna let a golden opportunity like this slip by. Kyros’s eyes lit up the second he heard Ethan’s words. He nodded eagerly, practically vibrating with excitement. "Yes, Master!" Without wasting another second, Kyros charged forward like a tidal beast unleashed, diving straight into the trapped Efreet and Efreet Sultan army, kicking off a full-blown massacre. Meanwhile, Ethan turned to Auremax and gave another order. "Auremax, scout out where Malphas is. But be careful — if you find him, don’t engage. Just come back and report to me immediately!" "Understood, my Lord!" Auremax responded crisply, then spread his massive golden wings and shot into the sky like a bolt of lightning, vanishing into the stormy clouds. ... Deep within the alternate dimension... Inside the Construct manufacturing facility, Diamond Golem Thalrun had gathered all the surviving humans and Constructs together. "My friends," Thalrun said, his voice heavy, "I’m sorry. It’s my fault you’re all caught up in this. The Infernal Legions are almost here. I’ll stay behind and hold them off. The rest of you — you must leave!" "Lord Thalrun, we’re not afraid to die!" a Gold Golem Hero roared, his voice filled with fury and defiance. "Let us fight with you!" To him, running away was a disgrace — a betrayal of everything they stood for. Especially when Thalrun, their leader, was willing to sacrifice himself to save them. How could they just abandon him? "Silence!" Thalrun barked, his voice like a hammer striking stone. "Have you forgotten our dream?!" he shouted. "If you all die here, our hope of returning to the main world — it’ll be gone forever!" He paused, his gaze softening, turning toward a group of Constructs standing off to the side. "And besides..." Thalrun’s voice grew quieter, more complicated. "The children... they’re innocent. I won’t let them die with us." Among the Constructs, some faces looked noticeably different — younger, less hardened. Constructs like Diamond Golems, Gold Golems, and Bronze Golems didn’t have "children" in the human sense. But they did have newly created Constructs — the next generation. These young Constructs hadn’t lived through the old wars. They didn’t carry the same burdens, the same dreams. All they wanted was simple — to live. Seeing this, the older Constructs clenched their fists, their faces twisted with frustration and grief. They could accept dying themselves — but dragging the young ones down with them? That was something they couldn’t bear. "Get ready," Thalrun said, taking a deep breath. "I’ll use the last of my Crimson Ultimate Hero power to tear open the world barrier. I don’t know where it’ll send you... but it’ll be away from here. Stay alive, all of you." He braced himself, gathering every last ounce of his strength, preparing to rip open the dimensional wall and send his people to safety. But just then — A chilling, twisted laugh echoed through the air. "Keheheheheh... keheheheheh..." "Thalrun," a sinister voice sneered, "you think you can run without asking us first?" "Infernal... Judgment!" ...
