Chapter 235: Blackwake Isle

Words : 1961 Updated : Oct 1st, 2025
Chapter 235: Blackwake IsleA few months later, in the Storm Kingdom—one of the Five Sea Kingdoms within the Greenwave Sea, the second of the Seven Great Seas—a Tier 2 warship with a dark golden sheen was gliding steadily across the calm ocean. The sea was still as glass, the sky clear and cloudless. Everything looked peaceful. But then, without warning, the water erupted. A massive Kirin burst from the depths with overwhelming force, like a divine beast descending from the heavens. Its presence was awe-inspiring, its momentum unstoppable, as it charged straight toward the dark-gold Tier 2 warship! Whoooosh! A deafening roar split the air. A colossal tsunami, thousands of feet high, surged up behind the Kirin like a wall of doom, blotting out the sun as it thundered forward, ready to swallow the ship whole. It looked like the sea itself had risen to devour them. Even though the crew aboard the Tier 2 warship knew they were in no real danger, many of them still flinched instinctively. Their faces paled, eyes wide with shock and fear. This wasn’t just a show of power—it was a force of nature. A disaster made flesh. "Kyros, are you messing around again...?" A calm voice echoed from the deck of the warship, carrying easily over the waves. "Heh heh..." The massive Kirin let out a mischievous chuckle. In the blink of an eye, its form shimmered and shifted—transforming into a small dwarf in a gray robe, with striking blue hair. Whoosh! He landed lightly on the deck of the warship. At the same moment, the towering tsunami—so massive it seemed capable of ending worlds—shattered like glass. The entire wave trembled violently, then collapsed back into the sea with a thunderous crash. The ocean, once raging, returned to perfect stillness. As if nothing had ever happened. The gray-robed dwarf turned toward a figure standing on the deck and grinned brightly. "Good morning, Master!" He stood just over three feet tall, his eyes sharp and full of mischief, his whole body radiating a clever, energetic vibe. But more than that, he was surrounded by a powerful aura of Water Magic—undeniably strong, and not to be underestimated. This wasn’t just anyone. This was Kyros—the Kirin Hero Unit that had hatched just a few months ago. Only now, he had awakened once... and fully matured. [Kyros Atlantis] Gender: Male Level: 21... Heroic Talents: Sea God – As long as Kyros is in a water-based environment... ... Sacred Realm – Within the area of this domain, Kyros gains unlimited regeneration of health and mana. He can perfectly control the power of the sea, Water Magic damage is increased by 50%, and his movement speed is boosted by +3. Enemies within the domain suffer a 30% reduction in movement speed, -15 to both attack and defense stats, -15% max HP, and their Water Magic damage is reduced by 20%. Current Domain Level: 1 This Sacred Realm automatically adapts to become Oceanic Realm when in aquatic environments. Blessing of the Sea God – In any water-based area, Kyros can actively cast a powerful group buff on all allied regular units: +30% to all attributes +50% max HP +2 movement speed -10% Water Magic damage taken Duration: 10 minutes Cooldown: 3 days Note: Units affected by this buff may experience mild to moderate fatigue or side effects afterward. Side effect duration: 3 to 10 days Overall Rating: B-Rank Crimson Ultimate Hero After his first awakening and full maturation, Kyros gained two new heroic talents. One was the universally coveted Sacred Realm, and the other—at least in Ethan’s eyes—was an absolutely broken, terrifying group buff: Blessing of the Sea God. +30% to all stats, +50% HP, +2 movement speed... That kind of boost could turn any Legendary Unit—or even a Mythic Unit—into an unstoppable force within their tier. And the craziest part? It wasn’t a single-target buff. It was a group-wide, active buff. Just imagine it: in the middle of a large-scale war, Kyros activates Blessing of the Sea God, and boom—instant battlefield domination. Ten minutes of that kind of power could flip the outcome of an entire war. It was no wonder that, just like Cicero before him, Kyros had evolved from a C-Rank Crimson Ultimate Hero to a B-Rank Crimson Ultimate Hero. And a B-Rank Crimson Ultimate Hero? That’s practically a god in human form. So yeah, no exaggeration—Emerald Castle had just gained a seriously overpowered hero. The only real drawback? Blessing of the Sea God only worked in watery environments. On land—or worse, in a desert—even if they tried to artificially create water, the effect would probably be severely weakened. Still, Ethan wasn’t complaining. Not even a little. You’ve gotta know when to be content, right? Greed gets you nowhere. Hahaha... "Kyros, did you find what I asked you to look for?" Ethan asked, eyeing the grinning dwarf with a raised brow. "Nope," Kyros replied without hesitation, shaking his head. "I’ve searched this whole area, top to bottom. There’s no sign of any dimensional rift like you described. Everything around here seems totally normal." "Is that so...?" Ethan’s expression darkened slightly, his brows furrowing as his eyes narrowed in thought. According to the map, they were already in the exact sea zone described in the orange-grade tome The Iron Factory of Despair. He’d scoured this place multiple times now, but still hadn’t found a single clue... "What the hell is going on? Don’t tell me the place mentioned in this orange-grade tome, The Iron Factory of Despair, has already been swallowed up by time and vanished without a trace?" Ethan muttered under his breath, his expression growing darker by the second. The manufacturing-type unit system detailed in The Iron Factory of Despair was a crucial part of his entire expedition plan. If he couldn’t get his hands on it, this whole trip would’ve been for nothing—a complete waste of time and effort. Just thinking about that made his mood tank. BOOM! Suddenly, the thunderous sound of cannon fire echoed in his ears. Ethan froze for a second, then his face hardened. "Are we under attack?" "My Lord, looks like some pirates have found us," came the lazy voice of Auremax, who was sprawled out on the deck, sunbathing like he didn’t have a care in the world. He lifted his head and squinted toward the southwest, where four or five Tier 2 warships were speeding straight toward them. "Pirates? Hah. Bunch of dead men walking." Kyros’s face darkened, his voice laced with fury. "Master, let me deal with them." "Go. But don’t kill them all—take some alive. They might know something about the alternate dimension we’re looking for," Ethan said, his tone thoughtful. Pirates were the local warlords of the sea. If anyone knew what was going on out here, it’d be them. Ethan and his crew hadn’t been able to locate the dimensional rift that led to the factory, but maybe these pirates had heard something. He paused, then added, "And be careful. Don’t let them find out you’re a Crimson Ultimate Hero." That kind of identity was way too flashy—it’d only bring trouble. Unless absolutely necessary, it was better to keep that under wraps. "Yes, Master!" Kyros didn’t hesitate. He leapt off the ship, manipulating the sea itself as he surged toward the unlucky pirate fleet like a crimson storm. "Boss... what the hell is that in the water? Something’s not right..." "Shit! Is that a Kirin? A Legendary Unit Kirin?! Damn it, why the hell is something that powerful showing up in this region?! We’re screwed—" "Fall back! Run! Get us out of here!" Panic erupted on the pirate ships. The moment they realized something was off, their faces went pale and they tried to flee. But Tier 2 warships were no match for Kyros’s speed and agility. In the blink of an eye, he wiped out thousands of low-tier units on the enemy ships. The few survivors were rounded up and dragged back to Ethan for questioning. "You’re all pirates?" Ethan asked, frowning as he looked over the ragged group. They sure looked the part... "Respected Lord, I’m Corvan, a naval officer from the Storm Kingdom. Please forgive our earlier offense—we didn’t mean any harm!" one of the men suddenly stepped forward. He was pale, unshaven, and clearly terrified. His voice trembled as he spoke, trying to sound respectful. "Storm Kingdom Navy?" Ethan gave Corvan and the others a quick once-over. He didn’t waste time with pleasantries and got straight to the point. "I’ve got a question for you." "Of course, My Lord. Ask anything!" Corvan replied immediately. "Do you know of any alternate dimensions nearby?" Ethan asked. "Alternate dimensions? How do you kn—" Corvan’s face changed instantly, his eyes wide with shock. But he caught himself just in time and clamped his mouth shut. ... "So, you do know something?" Ethan’s eyes narrowed, his tone calm but laced with quiet pressure. "Go ahead and talk. You should understand by now—playing tough won’t do you any favors." ROAR! Just then, a thunderous dragon’s roar echoed from the other side of the deck. The sheer force of it slammed into the group like a tidal wave. Corvan and the others flinched violently, their faces going pale as they instinctively looked toward the source. "G-Gold Dragon?!" Corvan blurted out, eyes wide with disbelief. A Gold Dragon. A Mythic Unit. As a Hero Unit of the Storm Kingdom, Corvan knew exactly what that meant. This guy... this unknown lord... could he be some high-ranking figure from the Forest faction? His unit lineup was insane—first a Kirin, now a Gold Dragon? What kind of monster army was this? "Can you talk or not? If you can’t, just say so. I’m not interested in wasting time with you," Ethan said coolly, his voice cutting through the tension like a blade. Corvan trembled again, then clenched his jaw hard. After a moment of hesitation, he finally spat out, "Alright! I’ll talk!" "The alternate dimension you’re looking for... it should be on Blackwake Isle, about 3,000 nautical miles southwest of here." "But that place sits right on the border between the Storm Kingdom and the Gemspire Kingdom. Both sides have stationed naval forces there. And the waters around Blackwake Isle are a nightmare—full of hidden whirlpools, deep-sea monsters, and wild roaming units. On top of that, the area’s constantly shrouded in thick fog. It’s insanely dangerous. Even Tier 11 or 12 Royal Units avoid going near it unless absolutely necessary..." As he spoke, a flicker of fear passed through Corvan’s eyes. It was clear the place had left a deep impression on him—one he’d rather forget. "Blackwake Isle, huh?" Ethan’s gaze sharpened. He turned back to Corvan. "Do you know what’s inside that dimension?" Corvan shook his head, then hesitated and gave a half-nod. "There are rumors... they say the whole place is made of fire. Like, literally—an entire world built from flames. We seafarers hate fire more than anything. Combine that with how dangerous the area is, and the fact that we’re constantly in a standoff with the Gemspire forces... no one’s been able to explore it properly. Or maybe someone has, but if so, I don’t know about it." "A world made entirely of fire..." Ethan’s eyes lit up. "Yeah. That’s the place." He looked at Corvan and said flatly, "Take me there." "W-What?" Corvan’s face went pale again, panic creeping in. If he took Ethan there, he’d be betraying the Storm Kingdom. That was treason. "You’re free to say no," Ethan said, his voice still calm, but now with a razor’s edge. "As long as you’re okay with dying." Corvan froze, his mouth dry. After a long pause, he finally gave a defeated sigh. "Alright... alright. I’ll take you." ...
