The Lewis Family was draped in mourning, so bleak it was nearly devoid of any vitality.
Cherry Lewis wore white, standing in the desolate villa, cold from head to toe.
Her father’s sudden death, her grandmother fainting upon hearing the bad news, her uncle eyeing the property greedily, and the Star Region Group opening its bloody mouth wanting to devour both her and the company.
She fell from being a darling of destiny to the abyss.
Was Harry Hunter trying to tell her that opposing him would lead to the destruction of her family?
But in the past, no matter how she opposed him, he would never get angry!
Now that Isabella Weaver is around, he goes all out!
What is so good about Isabella Weaver?!
Footsteps sounded not far away, Cherry Lewis raised her head, seeing Austin Winters walking unhurriedly towards her.
He was extraordinarily handsome, resembling his mother Amy Winters, with delicate features, crescent-shaped large eyes, a small pointed nose, lips red as blood jade, and enviable fair skin, making countless girls feel inferior before him.
His face carried no aggression, and his speech and actions were amiable, without sharp edges, just like his name.
"My condolences, Cherry, Uncle Lewis’s revenge relies on you."
"Do you also think my dad didn’t commit suicide?"
"Of course, I’ve interacted with Uncle Lewis so many times, how could he commit suicide? It must be Harry Hunter’s conspiracy."
Cherry instantly found resonance, tears streaming down as she said viciously: "I must make him pay!"
Austin Winters patted her shoulder with concern, his eyes filled with heartache: "You’ve suffered, how is the old lady? Are you trying to hold everything alone?"
Cherry leaned into his embrace: "Grandma is still unconscious, I called you here to discuss something."
Austin gently wrapped an arm around her, lightly patting her back, soft and gentlemanly, only his beautiful eyes, where the heartache vanished, becoming devoid of emotion where Cherry couldn’t see.
His voice was still gentle: "What is it?"
"I want to marry you."
"Isn’t this a bit inappropriate?"
"There’s nothing inappropriate, haven’t you always liked me?"
Austin was expressionless: "Yes, like."
"Then marry me!"
"You were Harry Hunter’s fiancée, others will gossip."
"Are you afraid of gossip? Do you not love me at all then? It turns out you were deceiving me all along!"
Cherry pushed him away suddenly, her expression agitated, full of anger.
The concern and tenderness in Austin’s eyes returned instantly, his tone sincere: "No, I’m worried about you being gossiped about."
"What do I have to fear now?"
Cherry’s anger dissipated, her eyes sorrowful: "I only have you, Austin. Propose to me! Marry me, the Lewis Family’s assets will belong to us both in the future, haven’t you always wanted to live a manor life? The Lewis Family has a good one, we can live there after marriage."
Austin finally agreed: "Okay, I’ll go buy a ring. I’m not marrying you for money, but if we join forces, we might get the Hunter Family’s money, and I’ll share half with you."
Cherry finally became happy: "It’s settled then!"
Austin smiled gently at her, hugging her.
He turned around and left, walking into the darkness, the tenderness on his face instantly vanished.
Everything was unfolding as he expected, and the Lewis Family would soon fall into his hands, a cause for celebration.
Ryder Lewis’s death was truly exquisite!
If Harry Hunter finds out Cherry is marrying into the Hunter Family, would he be furious enough to hit someone?
In the air of the dark night, his sinister, eerie laughter sounded, forming a stark contrast with his refined and beautiful appearance.
