Chapter 139: Chapter 139: Distorting Black and WhiteConnor, as per Harry Hunter’s instructions, was to deliver lunch to Isabella Weaver at noon. He had just driven into the neighborhood when he saw Isabella, in her pajamas, being dragged out by two tall, strong men. He recognized these two; aren’t they the ones around the old lady? What are they doing here! Connor rushed over, got out of the car, and shouted, "You two, get away from her! Have you lost your minds to dare lay a hand on the Young Madam!" The bodyguard’s fist stopped in mid-air, unable to strike down. Harry Hunter’s deterrent power is formidable; even though he’s not here, bodyguards generally wouldn’t dare hit his wife. "What Young Madam? Our Hunter Family has never acknowledged her! Connor, don’t protect this wild vixen. Hit her; I want her to know who reigns in the Hunter Family!" The voice of the old lady rang out powerfully. She stood on the balcony on the second floor, supported by Cherry Lewis, commanding condescendingly. Connor quickly knelt down: "Old Madam, if you hit the Young Madam today, it’s akin to slapping the Young Master’s face. Whatever the issue, let’s wait for the Young Master to return. He’s out there working hard for the Hunter Family; don’t break his heart!" The old lady completely ignored him and said to the two bodyguards, "You two won’t move at my command? I told you to hit her, so hit her! I’m Little Harry’s grandmother, the one who raised him single-handedly. Am I not allowed to discipline a woman who doesn’t know her manners? Hit her; any trouble that arises will be on me." Just as the two bodyguards were about to act, Connor got up from the ground swiftly, kicking each one in the chest. Though he seemed not to exert much strength, both bodyguards cried out in pain and fell to the ground, unable to get up. Connor bowed toward Isabella, his voice full of apology: "Young Madam, you’re startled, please get into the car first! Leave this matter to me." Isabella’s long hair was in disarray, and her pajamas had been torn by the bodyguards, revealing a fair shoulder. Luckily, she was wearing very conservative pajamas; had she been wearing something strappy, she would be in no state to face people now. Her face was somewhat pale, and her hands trembled slightly. She had never thought she would be treated this way! Though grateful for Connor’s rescue, her feet remained unmoved. This is her home, why should she be the one to leave? The old lady on the balcony was already furious: "Connor, dare you lay a hand on my people? Get out of here! You’re no longer allowed to serve by the Young Master’s side!" Connor’s signature smile had long vanished; he said, neither humbled nor haughty, "Old Madam, I belong to the Young Master, stays or leaves is for him to decide, no need to trouble you." The old lady was so angry that her jade earrings trembled, while Cherry Lewis held her tightly, looking extremely despondent: "Grandmother, Brother Harry is protecting her so much that even Connor dares to defy you and has beaten your people. We better not stay here, I want to go home, home is where we won’t be bullied like this." Isabella looked at Cherry’s beautiful, delicate face, unable to believe what she was hearing! Who exactly is being bullied?! This is nothing but a masterstroke of turning the truth upside down! The old lady’s face looked increasingly grim, feeling deeply that her authority was severely challenged: "Cherry, don’t be afraid, no one dares bully you, and certainly no one dares bully this old lady! If Little Harry dares keep this vixen, I’ll disown him as my grandson! Let’s go, this filthy place is hardly suitable for us to stay!"
