Harry Hunter stepped forward, lifting the slightly bowed Isabella Weaver horizontally into his arms.
Isabella Weaver was flustered: "What are you doing?"
"Taking you to bed."
Isabella Weaver was quite uneasy, whispering: "I’m not sleeping, there are others here, put me down!"
Harry Hunter turned around, looking at Cora Ginger.
Cora Ginger: "Ah! The weather is really nice today! Perfect for a walk outside, Connor, don’t you think?"
Connor was shocked, this girl’s skill at lying was even better than his, what was she up to, trying to steal his job?
"Of course!"
He couldn’t be outdone by a girl, rushing out the door first.
Cora Ginger ran out with a giggle, closing the door: "Hey, Connor, don’t walk so fast, wait for me, I don’t have an umbrella!"
In an instant, only Harry Hunter and Isabella Weaver were left in the living room.
"Didn’t you hurt your back and shoulder? Put me down."
Harry Hunter, with a calm expression, carried her into the bedroom and placed her on the bed.
He lay down beside her, asking: "Do you believe me now?"
Isabella Weaver lowered her eyelashes: "I believe you."
Harry Hunter pinched her chin, forcing her to look up at him: "From now on, don’t believe the nonsense that Alexander Parker says!"
His tone carried a hint of anger, he gritted his teeth in hatred for Alexander Parker, always causing trouble for him!
Isabella Weaver’s voice was weak: "I didn’t leave because of what he said, I saw the message on your phone and thought you were really going to marry Cherry Lewis, so I made space for you two."
"Make space for what! If I wanted to marry her, I would have done it already! You didn’t even ask me, didn’t listen to my explanation?"
"It’s easy to misunderstand that message, you can’t entirely blame me; the less you say, the more doubts I have in my heart!"
Isabella Weaver knew she misunderstood him and snuggled into his embrace, offering a slightly playful defense.
Harry Hunter couldn’t stand her being coy; the little girl was stubborn, and when she acted this way, he couldn’t help but soften, not wanting to reprimand her.
He pulled the delicate girl closer into his arms, pressing his leg against hers, with his arm wrapped around her waist, the posture intimate and ambiguous.
"Then whatever I do in the future, I’ll discuss it with you first, okay?"
Harry Hunter knew he was somewhat dictatorial by nature, never explaining his actions to anyone; having Isabella Weaver now, he hadn’t yet picked up the habit of communicating with her.
Isabella Weaver buried her head in his arms, softly responding: "Okay."
"Does your hand still hurt?"
"No, it doesn’t hurt."
"Have you been taking your medicine on time?"
"Yes."
"Good, well done, here’s a reward!"
Saying this, Harry Hunter leaned down and kissed her softly.
"Why aren’t you sleeping well?"
"I..."
"Missing me?"
"No."
"Not missing me?" Harry Hunter’s tone was somewhat dangerous.
Isabella Weaver compromised: "Yes."
"Yes, what?"
"Yes, I miss you."
"Mm."
Harry Hunter was finally satisfied.
With a tender beauty in his arms, and rain pouring outside, he completely relaxed.
This weather was perfect for sleeping, especially for sleeping while holding your wife.
He kissed Isabella Weaver’s brows and eyes, speaking with a gentle tone that was unlike him: "Let’s take a nap."
Isabella Weaver agreed.
A moment later, she raised her head slightly, only to see the cold man had already fallen asleep.
From the moment he had entered, she noticed the red veins in his eyes, not knowing how long he hadn’t slept to look like this.
She quietly nestled closer to him, wrapping her arm around his waist, kissing his slightly stubbled chin.
A bit prickly, but she liked it.
