Chapter 51: A Conversation With An Elder Is Hard To End! After the elder had finished with his tea, Ken once again asked some questions. Some he already knew, and some he had thought about but didn’t find particularly important to waste time on. This wasn’t a formal disciple-master ceremony; it was honorary, but it made the two have a higher relationship than just elder-disciple but less than master-student. "This disciple thanks the elder master." Ken got up, bowed respectfully, and sat down for the elder to serve him a cup of tea. "No need for all the formalities." The elder said. From today forward their relationship was no longer simple, and it went to show that things, while they seemed very simple and said on a whim, had a much higher consequence than others could determine. The elder asked after Ken took the first sip; their talk was more casual than before. "The Perception Mastery book, elder master." Ken stated. "Hmm? That’s a good choice, but it will take you a long time to understand. If you ever have difficulty understanding it, you may come to me." The elder said. And with these words, Ken’s eyes lit up. He seemed to remember something. While the idle training allowed him to perfect the technique easily and at an unbelievable rate, to actually get to start training, it was hard. And he had actually skimmed through the books the previous day in the library. If the Spirit Cultivation book took him 4 hours, and the Spirit Forging technique took the original Ken a month. Then this one would actually take a month to start mastering, even for this Ken. Ken took hold of the book and thanked the elder. "You can stay here for as long as you like." The elder then said, giving Ken a few glances. "Then I will trouble the elder." Seeing as he had the chance, Ken agreed. Then the two spent a good few minutes just silent, with no words exchanged. Then when the air was right, Ken started asking questions regarding the book. The day passed, night came, and the elder sent Ken off, with the latter promising to return the next day. Now, he had to return to his job at the library, and having nothing else to do the entire day, he spent the rest of it with the elder. This way, time once again passed freely. And the time for Ken to take on his first mission at the sect approached. His previous techniques had all turned into arts, from Spirit Forging to the latest Restraining Order skill, and he was also able to start the new one’s idle training.
