Chapter 14: Strange! Not once, not a single time, did he hear about it, and the longer he spent, the more he realized that this world’s cultivators weren’t the same as the ones he knew. It was as if this spirit path was one of many, and to reach the peak of power, one had to thread more than one. Speaking of which, the elder never spoke of elements even in his memory, something that should be well known here. At this point the elder started speaking about the later realms but didn’t go into details, as even the fastest of them wouldn’t reach the 5th realm anytime soon, Ken included. "Cultivators seclude themselves for large durations; that is why from now on the two lectures per week will change to one once every two weeks." The elder stopped for a while, then said. The reason for such long seclusions is for the cultivator to delve deep into their mind, and with the spiritual energy around them being absorbed, or by trying to understand techniques that also hold truths of the world, they can shape themselves into proper spirit path practitioners. While Ken thought about how he had to explore the outside world soon instead of being holed up in the sect, the elder, who thought that speaking about the spirit path realms any longer was useless, only went on to speak about basic knowledge. Such as that the qi refining realms had 20 stages, and that once one reached the 10th realm, they could break through to the next major realm while simultaneously continuing on their refining. He also pointed out that reaching the highest qi refining realm before breaking through allowed for maximum results. Moreover, he, one way or another, hinted at himself being at the next realm, the Foundations Establishment realm. He was just an outer sect elder, and from what Ken managed to hear, such was the level of core disciples, meaning it was an achievement to reach such a realm. Having awakened their core, the foundation establishment realm individuals no longer suffered from the same weak points as the qi refining realm ones. By now, with their cores, which were the source of their powers, awakened, they could literally fight for weeks on end and could stretch even that to longer durations if they practiced the right technique or used their energy efficiently enough. "Very well, the first part of the lecture has ended; let us move on to the techniques." Having said this, all students perked up. "Since all of you practice the spirit cultivation technique, I’ll start with that." In a fraction of a second the elder released a circular wave of energy that didn’t fail to reach a single one of them. "I see, quite a few of you have reached the basic mastery of the technique; that makes it easier then." Ken opened his eyebrows, wondering how he did that or if he managed to guess that he had even surpassed the basic mastery realm. [Oh my, using spiritual energy like that, it’s unfortunate for those who wanted to remain low-key; using the technique with basic mastery is the same as speaking about it in front of the elder.] Heh. Hearing this, Ken smiled. He wasn’t found out after all. -----End-----
