Chapter 74: Three Perspectives "Kael, you make my life more interesting." Michel let out a loud laugh with a cold expression, opening his arms, while the light coming in through one of the windows made his hair shine more brightly. Some members of the Abraham family who happened to be passing by witnessed the scene and looked on in utter disbelief. It was the first time they had ever seen their young heir behave in such a manner, and they couldn’t help but stare at the seventh young master of the Medici Clan. For his part, Kael did not respond to Michel’s sudden statement. He merely smiled subtly before ignoring him and continuing with his studies. Everyone present was shocked by Kael’s attitude. He had ignored the young heir to the Abraham family! This sparked a deep contempt for the seventh young master. But that resentment was of little use. The Medici Clan was one of the great duchies of the Kingdom of Aragon, with a thousand-year history. The Abraham family, although on the rise, could not compare to the legacy of the Medici. Michel, sensing Kael’s indifference, wasn’t bothered in the slightest. On the contrary, his interest grew, though he restrained himself and continued on his way to the room he had been assigned. I didn’t expect to meet someone like this in this clan. Michel thought, maintaining his indifferent expression while his blue eyes glowed with a dark, cold light. With Michel’s departure, he couldn’t help but smile slightly. How ironic life was. The encounter with Michel was unplanned. It shouldn’t have happened. And yet... it did. Not by fate, nor by chance. It happened because that was how the world was: a wild, unpredictable, and cruel organism, where order was an illusion. Michel shouldn’t have been there. He shouldn’t have seen him. But life didn’t follow rules; it just happened. And that was precisely why it was so fascinating. Even with knowledge of the future, Kael knew he wasn’t omniscient. Having an advantage didn’t mean having absolute control. Knowledge could foresee, calculate, estimate... but it didn’t abolish uncertainty. The most valuable thing he possessed remained the same: his experiences. Not information, but judgment forged through conflict and loss. As he watched Michel, his mind returned to the Three Perspectives. In this world, there were three ways of looking at reality. Three levels of consciousness. Three injustices. The first was the child’s perspective. Everything revolved around him. His pain, his desire, his truth. Most never left that place. They only knew hunger and complaint. They were like pigs squealing for food without understanding that they were being fattened up for the slaughterhouse. The second was adulthood. One step higher. Someone capable of understanding other people’s perspectives. They no longer shouted out of instinct, but negotiated, manipulated, gave in, or demanded. Those who reached this stage possessed something that most did not: personality. But the third... The third belonged to those who had transcended. It could not be achieved through maturity or pain. It could only be obtained by looking at the world from such a height that everything became equally insignificant. Peace, justice, love, friendship, guilt, redemption. All these concepts vanished under the gaze of a God or a Buddha. Bonds were chains, kindness was an expensive luxury, and good and evil were mere points of view dictated by the victorious side. A dying baby and a squashed fly weighed the same: nothing. That was the true perspective of a God. Or of a Demon. Both were the same, seen from a sufficient distance. But Kael no longer thought like a child. Nor like an adult. He was walking toward that third way of seeing the world. Because only from that height could he glimpse the truth and attain true Divinity. However, Kael had not yet reached this perspective. There was still an anchor inside him. A trace of humanity that, no matter how hard he tried to remove it, remained there, silent but persistent. An attachment. It was not too powerful. Not to glory, nor to life itself. It was toward his mother. No matter how cold the calculation, no matter how many layers of reason cover the flesh, the bond with the mother figure is a primitive root, buried beyond logic. It doesn’t matter if she was cruel, if she abandoned him, if she fed her children blood or lies. Even the child of hatred, in the deepest abyss, keeps a place in his heart for the woman who gave him life. Because there is only one mother. And as long as that bond remains unbroken, deep down, we remain weak human beings. Kael closed the book and looked out the window. At that moment, his mother, Alessia, walked down the hallway, chatting cheerfully with her servant, who greeted him with a smile. Kael simply stared out the window and got up from the luxurious armchair. He left the book on the small table and left the mansion, accompanied by Lydia and Eren. ... On one of the city streets. A group of men entered a tavern, and when they entered, there was an eerie silence. Although several people were drinking at the tables and the bar, no voices could be heard, as if the concept of sound had disappeared. This caused them to panic. They had been responsible for the destruction of several villages and the disappearance of many members of the Medici Clan. They were members of the Lion Kingdom. For the Lion Kingdom, dealing a heavy blow to the Medici Clan would be very beneficial. That was why many of their soldiers had infiltrated Kiran Mountain. However, seeing the tavern so quiet, they turned to run, but then they saw a young man with brown hair and an empty gaze walking toward them. They tried to scream, but their voices were not heard; it was as if their vocal cords were not working. Yet, just moments ago, they were talking to each other. Too strange and terrifying! Without further ado, they began to run toward one of the streets at full speed, but they split up in several directions so as not to be caught. After running through different streets for a few minutes, they returned to their starting point: the tavern. There, they saw the same young man walking toward them, but now he was getting closer and closer. Another thing they noticed was that, while they were running through the different streets, they didn’t see anyone else. This only terrified them even more. And they concluded: Magic of Illusion! At that moment, a cold female voice echoed behind them: "Are you tired of running? Follow me if you don’t want to die."
