Xenovia was in the castle courtyard, feeling the cool morning breeze against her skin as she practiced her cultivation techniques.
She was in a deep state of concentration, her entire body immersed in energy, seeking the perfect balance between strength and control. The Emperor Stage of cultivation was her goal, and Xenovia, with her determination, had only reached the King Stage, with a skill few could match.
She had always been proud of her power, but at the same time, lately, she hadn't been feeling very confident with everything that had been happening, especially being forced to be the heir prince's fiancée. Her strength seemed... useless.@@@@
Still, something didn't feel right, or rather, it never had, and lately... the sense of alert began to settle slowly in her mind, an uncomfortable feeling, as if something was about to happen.
Xenovia interrupted her practice and looked around, but saw nothing unusual. The courtyard was empty, except for her.
Then, the castle door burst open with a bang, and the figure of the prince, accompanied by six imposing men, entered.
Xenovia immediately recognized the presence of each of them. They were powerful cultivators, all at the King Stage like her. The six guards were known for their strength and ferocity, and she knew they were not her allies.
The prince, with his cold and arrogant expression, walked to the center of the courtyard, his eyes fixed on Xenovia with a calculating gaze. "Xenovia, your betrayal will not be tolerated," he said, his voice icy and full of contempt. "I knew you were scheming something, and now you will pay for it."
Xenovia frowned, her body immediately tensing in alert. She knew tensions had risen in recent days, especially after Kryssia threatened the prince, but she never imagined the prince would go as far as to attack her personally. She had suspected something like this could happen, but she never thought he would dare.
'Xyn...' Xenovia called her Spiritual Phoenix, which appeared beside her, invisible. "We cannot kill..." Xyn spoke.
"I don't know what you're talking about," Xenovia replied firmly, her voice clear and unafraid. She was ready to fight if necessary. Her body pulsed with energy, and her sword, always by her side, seemed to call for battle.
The prince gave a sarcastic smile and raised his hand, signaling the six guards around him. They immediately took their positions, surrounding Xenovia from all sides. Each of them possessed an aura of power equal to hers, but the numerical disadvantage was clear.
Xenovia felt a wave of frustration; she was alone, and the situation seemed hopeless, despite having the power to fight back... She was surrounded in various ways.
The dungeon door slammed shut with a bang, and the sound of chains echoed through the darkness. Xenovia lay alone, her body bleeding, and her eyes full of rage and frustration...
Xenovia lay on the cold dungeon floor, pain radiating through her body. Her chest rose and fell heavily, and her blood, still warm, formed small pools around her body. She looked at the chains binding her wrists, her eyes narrowing with anger and frustration. She couldn't believe what had just happened. She, who had always been a formidable warrior, was now in this miserable state, fallen and powerless.
But, as much as the pain and humiliation consumed her, there was something stronger in her chest: fury. The prince and his guards thought they could defeat her, that they could break her. But Xenovia was not so easily vanquished. She had always known the fight would be difficult, but she never thought a simple strike would make her fall so easily. However, this fall was only temporary. No matter how hard it got, she would never give up.
She took a deep breath, trying to calm her mind. She knew that, if she wanted to get out of this situation, she would need to find a way to regain her strength. Rage and despair wouldn't be enough. She needed more.
With tremendous effort, she tried to rise, using the cold dungeon wall for support. Every movement was painful, but she couldn't afford to falter. Her eyes burned with determination as she looked at the chains binding her arms. They wouldn't be enough to hold her here forever.
"No... I won't stay here," she murmured to herself, her words almost drowned out by the sound of water dripping from the stone walls. Her body trembled with pain, but she was determined. Her soul was still intact, and her will to fight stronger than ever.
She looked around the dark dungeon, trying to find anything that could be used to escape. The environment was gloomy, with moss covering the walls, and the humidity making the air thick. But, as she looked more closely, she noticed something: a small crack in the wall, almost imperceptible. A potential escape point she could use to her advantage. It might not be the key to her immediate freedom, but it could be the first step.
Xenovia began to crawl toward the wall, her blood-stained hands touching the cold stone. Each movement made her head spin with pain, but she didn't stop. The frustration she felt turned into strength, and her mind focused solely on what she needed to do to get out of there. When she reached the crack, she carefully examined the opening. It was small, but if she could widen the gap, maybe she could escape.
She then used all the strength she had left and started working on the crack, trying to force the stone to give way. The sound of the friction between the stones filled the dungeon, but she didn't stop.
"I think it's time to stop holding back," Xyn said, but Xenovia ignored it.
"I won't use Spiritual Assimilation now," Xenovia replied.
"But when Strax comes... I'll kill everyone in this place, even if it means going against Kryssia," Xenovia said, her eyes burning with determination.
