"Who said I was alone? Don’t I still have you?" Yue Jinghua said with a slight smile, turning her face towards him.
At that moment, on the sea surface of the Senluo Sea, the moon had just set, and a muddy black sea moon was slowly rising. The waves slapped against Jue Shang’s legs, and for some reason, a chill grew on her knees, which had already lost the sense of pain.
As the sea moon rose, a shiny, flat, broad fish head emerged from the calm waters of the Senluo Sea.
This Sea Batfish, inhabiting the depths of the Senluo Sea, had come again tonight.
At the seabed of Senluo Sea, sea beasts were scarce, with only some meager deep-sea plankton and various low-level mollusks.
For the Sea Batfish, Jue Shang had become its extra snack.
Initially, the Sea Batfish dared not get too close to the Heavenly Punishment Pillar where Jue Shang was trapped. However, as the temptation of Demon Clan flesh grew stronger and the Magic Power of the Heavenly Punishment Pillar diminished, the Sea Batfish, after successfully tearing a piece of flesh from Jue Shang in an ambush, realized that Jue Shang posed no threat to it.
Having felt the benefits of the strong Magic Power from a high-level Demon, the Sea Batfish would periodically launch an attack; even a single piece of flesh was enough for it to digest for a while.
But this time, it unexpectedly suffered an attack, and the meat it almost had was gone.
The Sea Batfish, now with intelligence similar to that of a human child, realized that a third party had come to this part of the Senluo Sea.
What of the third party? This marine area was its territory, and a third party with a weak presence could only become its food.
Taking advantage of the nightfall and the darkness that engulfed the sea, it quietly approached the Heavenly Punishment Pillar.
Not sensing the scent of any strangers, the Sea Batfish, though just barely intelligent, did not think further and swam towards the area where Jue Shang was imprisoned, as usual.
Jue Shang’s head hung low, her blood-rusted Armor quietly draped on her body, seemingly unaware of the ripples rising on the sea surface.
Nevertheless, the Sea Bat Eel was aware of the purpose of those four Sealing Demon Daggers; it knew very well that the formidable demon in front of it could not move freely.
"Hiss," a sound that made one’s eardrums tingle as flesh and bone were torn, the Sea Batfish’s ambush tonight smoothly passed, and it greedily devoured the flesh of the Demon.
Unknown to it, after chewing for a while, Jue Shang’s abdomen felt as if there was a dull knife grinding inside, causing unbearable pain.
Just as it was about to dive below the water surface, there was a weight on its back, and a figure emerged from the water and immediately attacked the sea eel.
"Beast, how does the taste of Devil Crystal suit you?" Yue Jinghua smiled, her bright teeth gleaming, as she raised her fist and rained down punches like a storm.
Her fancy but ineffective punches were no match for the sea eel.
Just then, "Ga--" The Bat Eel opened its broad mouth and a tidal wave-like sonic boom burst forth, which precisely and forcefully swept Yue Jinghua off its back.
Yue Jinghua hadn’t expected the Sea Bat Eel to have such a capability and let out an "Ah ya," falling into the sea in a somersault.
Although the Sea Bat Eel could not understand human language, it guessed that someone had tampered with the Demon flesh it had been eating, and that someone was the girl who had suddenly attacked.
By the time Yue Jinghua wiped off the seawater, looking pitiful as she emerged from the water,
The vast sea surface was now devoid of any trace of the Bat Eel.
The so-called ignorance breeds fearlessness, this seems apt for the young girl before my eyes.
Jue Shang watched coldly, utterly disdainful of Yue Jinghua’s foolish and ignorant actions.
Just before nightfall, Yue Jinghua sprinkled a layer of powder around her vicinity on the sea, claiming it to be a potent poison, apparently intending to use Jue Shang as bait.
To attract the sea eels, Yue Jinghua even cut her leg, using blood to lure them.
"There’s no such thing as a free lunch, I help you eliminate future troubles and even supply the poison, it’s only right for you to sacrifice some flesh," Yue Jinghua said as if it was the most natural thing, darkening Jue Shang’s expression even further.
Yet, she couldn’t think of any excuse to refuse Yue Jinghua’s request.
Thus, the scene of luring and killing the Sea Bat Eel ensued.
"I am a Pill Master, not good at many things, but proficient in administering poison. As the saying goes, use actions not words when possible, and if it comes to action, make sure it’s decisive and lethal," Yue Jinghua rambled on.
"Once the Bat Eel is poisoned, even if it sinks to the seabed, it won’t last long," To poison this 500 kg Sea Bat Eel, Yue Jinghua used a large chunk of Devil Crystal, really sparing no expense.
"The sea eel’s cave is about fifty zhang deep, use the breath-holding technique I taught you and dive into the sea at that depth to explore," Jue Shang had only taught Yue Jinghua the basic method of diving and did not reveal how to enter the sea region 300 zhang deep.
For a demon, employing despicable means is a necessity.
"That’s all? Senluo Sea is deep and dark, I go down without any equipment, isn’t that like a lamb to the slaughter? You should at least give me some protective treasures. You mentioned earlier that you treat treasures like dirt," Jue Shang’s casual remark was caught by Yue Jinghua.
Jue Shang was nearly choked by Yue Jinghua’s words, annoyance flashed through her beautiful eyes, but soon she suppressed the irritation in her chest and muttered, "Demons and Dark Practitioners are different; demons rely mostly on Heavenly Power for cultivation, rarely on Spiritual Treasure or Elixir Pills. If it were before, I had a treasure called Sea Drying Jade Bottle, unfortunately, it was lost during a Senluo Yin Scroll event, whereabouts unknown now."
"If not, that ring would do," Yue Jinghua pointed to the Black Ring Jue Shang was wearing, used to absorb her ’morality’.
That ring, definitely not an ordinary item, once anything falls into her hands, there is no return.
"Fine, take this Nanhuang Ring with you, it will help while diving," Jue Shang agreed readily to Yue Jinghua’s request.
Yue Jinghua didn’t expect Jue Shang to agree so quickly, took off the ring and put it on. The ring, seemingly crafted from that glossy, beautifully lustrous black pearl on her body.
"I’ll go down first, if I don’t come up in a few days, remember to burn some paper money for me during festivals. Oh, I forgot to mention, my name is Yue Jinghua, until we meet again," Yue Jinghua got her wish, didn’t linger any longer, and leaped into the water.
As water splashed, she vanished into the tumultuous dark sea surface.
Jue Shang sneered, closed her eyes, but soon, she opened her eyes and exclaimed, "Where is she?"
The Nanhuang Ring bore Jue Shang’s Spiritual Imprint; she agreed to Yue Jinghua’s request to take the ring so quickly because she wanted to use it to monitor Yue Jinghua’s every move. However, the moment the girl entered the water, her presence completely disappeared.
Jue Shang turned pale, suddenly feeling a premonition that she’d been fooled; however, she quickly comforted herself, convinced the girl couldn’t possibly escape Senluo Sea, and she was curious to see what tricks the other party could play.
