That was an extraordinarily beautiful and enchanting woman; just one glance could give the illusion of being choked.
"Demon Clan," Yue Jinghua exclaimed involuntarily, ’Demon,’ naturally bewitching the minds of people. If there were demons among those deployed on the Canglong Continent, then the woman before her was undoubtedly the best synonym for a demon.
"Hehe, demon, it’s been many years since anyone has called me that," the woman laughed, her voice slightly husky.
Yue Jinghua took out a pouch of clear water from her Desire Gourd and brought it to the woman’s lips, feeding her a few sips.
After drinking some water, the woman cleared her throat and surveyed Yue Jinghua and the broken Great Sword in her hand.
"Who are you, and where is this?" Yue Jinghua didn’t know; she had been transferred into the Trial Room. She only remembered that after leaving the Prince Mansion, she had fallen into a state of suspended animation due to exhaustion of spiritual power—or perhaps, she had already died.
"My name is Jue Shang, and this place is the Senluo Sea. The thing before you is the Heavenly Punishment Pillar, and you must have been brought here by the accidental Senluo Yin Wind Roll from the human world." After drinking water, the woman’s spirit improved a bit, and her husky voice also became less harsh.
The Senluo Sea is a boundless oceanic domain where Dark Practitioners and the Demon Clan with heavy sins are exiled; the Heavenly Punishment Pillar is a powerful array of Dark Power that seals the sinners within the Senluo Sea.
The sea water here has magical healing properties; it can delay aging but also contains a strong poison that can slowly erode the exiled’s Dark Power through respiration and skin contact.
Upon hearing this, Yue Jinghua circulated her internal energy quietly; fortunately, the miraculous Creation Power in her body was unaffected by the Senluo Sea.
However, when she heard that in the Senluo Sea, regardless of being a Dark Practitioner, from the Demon Clan, or even the Divine Clan, none could fly or traverse by boat, she was immediately dumbfounded—how then could she leave this place?
Yue Jinghua soon calmed down; facing such a situation, the only option was to find another way out: "Based on what you said, for me to leave here, I cannot rely on manpower, only on the Yin Wind that brought me here. Then, how long till the next Yin Wind blows?"
In this blackened maritime area, there is no passing of time, only the eternal Furious Sea tinged with darkness where, devoid of sunlight, a black crescent moon rises in the sky every month.
When the moon arises, a Senluo Yin Wind will rise from the seabed.
Yue Jinghua was inadvertently brought into the Senluo Sea by such a hurricane. If she waits another month, she will miss the examination for Imperial Alchemist, which would disrupt her entire plan.
"Is there any way for me to leave here as soon as possible?" Yue Jinghua inquired further.
"Beneath the Senluo Sea lies a sunken Undersea Windmill Array, about three hundred feet below the seabed. If you can break the Prohibition on the windmill, you can trigger the Yin Wind prematurely, and then you can return to where you came from," Jue Shang spoke, lifting her hand, her emaciated fingers pointing deep into the sea.
Three hundred feet, upon hearing this, Yue Jinghua, undisturbed, contemplated the vast ocean; merely diving three hundred feet was already beyond the limits of human capacity, even if she used Dark Power to protect her body, she could only dive a few dozen feet at most.
Noticing Yue Jinghua furrowing her brows, Jue Shang’s eyes carried an indiscernible hint of pleasure with a slight twitch of her hand, those four sharp Daggers firmly secured her wrists.
Hearing the low moan following, Yue Jinghua withdrew her distant gaze, her vision once again falling on the Daggers that restrained Jue Shang’s wrists and ankles.
"Senluo signifies Hell, and as the name implies, it’s a place to exile the guilty. Who banished you here?" Yue Jinghua noticed the four daggers; they were clearly not ordinary. The daggers shone with a glowing light, seemingly imbued with Sealing Demon Power.
In such a harsh environment, Jue Shang had been trapped for countless years. Who exactly is she?
Jue Shang saw that Yue Jinghua did not continue to ask how to dive deeper, but instead asked about her origins, and she was secretly surprised.
She remembered, the last time a young man entered here, upon discovering the Undersea Windmill Array, he immediately dived into the ocean depths.
"The one who banished me was a God," Jue Shang’s words had just fallen when ocean waves clashed against the Heavenly Punishment Pillar.
"God?" Yue Jinghua couldn’t help but wonder, "What God exists on the continent?" But then she quickly thought of demons that once existed on the continent as well.
A veil that had covered for thousands or even tens of thousands of years slowly began to lift a corner.
"Where there is faith, there is God. Young girl, you are not old, but from your attire, it seems you come from Xuanzhe Continent. How much do you know about the true secrets of the continent?" Jue Shang’s eyes slightly narrowed, like fine black pearls twinkling faintly.
She slowly began to speak of the Creation legend of the continent, barely known by anyone.
When the Creator God divided the heavens and earth, he split the entire continent into several planes: the Sun, Moon, Star, and Chen Planes.
The highest plane is the Sun Plane, the Divine Plane; next comes the Moon Plane, also known as the Holy Sanctuary Plane, where many Ancient Holy Beasts, Divine Beasts, and Breakthrough Upgraders from the Star and Chen Planes will enter.
The Sun Plane is known as the Upper Plane, below it lies the Moon Plane, and the Star, Chen Planes are known as the Lower Plane.
Since the Lower Plane encompasses numerous continents like stars, to the Gods and Divine Beasts, they are deemed insignificant and thus called the Floating Continent.
In the Lower Plane, there are two types: one like Canglong Continent, dominated by Dark Practitioners, known as the Xingxuan Continent. Canglong Continent is one among them in the Xingxuan Continent.
The other kind teems with the Demon Race, Demon Clan, Half-Beast Clan, and evil spirits. Compared to the Star Continent, abundant in Dark Energy, the survivability for demons, half-beasts, and ghost clans on the Chen Continent are far harsher, thus Chen Continent is known as the Xuansha Continent.
Up to this point, the story seemed to reach a temporary conclusion.
Yue Jinghua revealed a contemplative expression. Why had these matters never appeared in the "Continent History?"
"I know what you’re thinking, you must be wondering why none of this has appeared in the historical records. That’s because, whether it’s Xingxuan or Xuansha continents, any written word that mentions matters of the Upper Plane self-destructs. This is called the Divine Prohibition. And those who had the chance to touch the secrets of the Middle Upper Plane mostly have entered a new Plane, and once they enter the new Plane, they never have a chance to return to the Lower Plane," Jue Shang’s eyes seemed capable of discerning people’s thoughts.
"Then why were you banished here?" Yue Jinghua couldn’t help but glance again at the Sealing Demon Dagger.
