Chapter 106: Bizarre Reviews

Words : 988 Updated : Sep 30th, 2025
There weren't issues in Japan, Australia, or Europe. These comics were quite good, suitable for young readers, but... "What?" "Athena's wearing too little?" "Oh come on, isn't Venus not wearing anything?" "There's a hint of discrimination against Black folks in Slam Dunk. The big shark must be changed to a white person." William White was out of words. "Transformers is too violent." "Uh-huh, Optimus Prime should go play golf. Go on." "The female designs in Cowboy Bebop are problematic; they emphasize the body too much, potentially discriminating against women." "I'm just showing healthy women! If they became flat-chested, I'd be accused of promoting homosexuality. Ask them what the normal cup size should be and make sure they reply." "Okay, boss." The staff knew the boss was planning to stir things up and continued to report. "Resident Evil excessively promotes violence; the portrayal of zombies can cause discomfort." "Alright, continue." "The Simpsons is fine, but they want more positive depictions." "Fist of the North Star is also labeled as bloody and violent." "Dang, is this an adult-rated comic magazine I've released? A bunch of lazy fools. Ignore them and spread the word; someone will be interested." "As for the cup size issue, ask the CCA what size is suitable for women. Why don't they monitor the ones breaking the rules on the streets?" "Understood, boss." The assistant left, trying not to laugh, while William White chuckled angrily. "Suzuki, have Toei Animation add the grape juice and glacier mineral water to the US version." "Okay, boss, I got it." William White really admired Stan Lee. How did the old man survive when nothing was ever acceptable? ... The folks at the CCA hadn't interacted with William White before. These jerks audaciously came to complain. Do you think all these lobby organizations are here just to fool around? Block all of them to teach them a lesson. What's the right size for American girls? William White asked them to answer. Is this comic character's figure illegal? Are you planning to discriminate against good figures now? Many families had pleasant mornings because a lot of newspapers published William White's three questions. Since the CCA was founded, no comic company dared to do this. It was a complete break, leaving no room for both sides. Only those with dirty minds scrutinize specific body parts all the time. Shouldn't you be worried about the content? Discriminating against women while pretending to protect them, are you demanding that girls bind their chests? That's utterly shameless. The folks at the CCA were enraged. They had planned to deal with this guy seriously, but now they didn't need to; he chose to confront head-on openly. Seen unreasonable folks, but such a reckless person was rare, and the court had to accept the case. ... William White quickly dug up CCA's blemished history, dragging out every doubt they ever raised; this was meant to bury the CCA! The kids who were affected back then had all grown up. Now, they wanted an apology. The books weren't for burning back then; it hurt a young soul deeply, needing counseling now. They wanted you to pay. It could trigger a collective lawsuit. If they win even one, it's time to announce disbandment as no one could afford that compensation. What could Marvel and DC say? Support it, or be shunned. Even Warner couldn't say much. DC suffered the most, with almost every comic character impacted. Whoa, that responsibility was too big to bear! Actually, Marvel had figured it out. It was a publicity stunt, and America's market wasn't part of the sales plan. The reasoning was simple: there were no contacts with booksellers. Were they planning to sell comics on the street? Since it was a publicity stunt, they grudgingly joined in. Otherwise, they would look like fools. ... Faced with a bunch of crushed victims, the CCA was extremely helpless, set to be thoroughly ruined. America's comic review did spark criticism: what was your basis? On what grounds could you act so arbitrary? Why aren't movies and comics alike? Why can't a grading system be used? Human manipulation was excessively casual, utterly not in line with reflecting values. Just a few sleazy old men deciding comics' fate was absurd. Long story short, amid much noise for over a month, nothing came out. The CCA saw they were just opportunists. Even rechecking didn't appeal. It was simply either all passed or all blocked. ... Meanwhile, bizarre commercials started airing on TV stations. Using cartoon characters for ads, you had your nerve to object? Though less than a minute, no one actually found it improper, despite forced ads making people speechless. How capricious can one be? It was originally heated. Megatron suddenly praised grape juice. Are you nuts? Can robots drink grape juice? Dare you stretch it any further? The answer was yes; Athena said glacier mineral water was great. Many swiftly collapsed to the floor. Not saying it must be so awkwardly embedded, as it was intentional. It was simply a comic ad, and since they couldn't sell now, it had to be done this way, as they wouldn't refund the ad slot. And mind you, everyone not only remembered these comic characters but also the grape juice and mineral water. What's the purpose of an ad? Bare minimum is to become familiar. Not to mention other effects, this was undeniably effective. Such fancy packaging was utterly sophisticated. Where could it be bought? Oh darn, it wasn't produced yet. Alright, seems it really was forced. Without the last bit, this comic ad would be quite decent. Huh, nothing seemed off. What was up with this review? Had someone poisoned it, or were there inappropriate hints in the comics? ***** https://www.patreon.com/Sayonara816.
