Hanna Gagar snatched the phone, switched on speaker mode, and then tossed the phone under the windshield in front, sneeringly saying, "Uncle Horton, what do you think military contractors do? Play house? Since you dared to start this on the first day of the month, don't blame me for responding on the fifteenth. If you dare make another reckless move, watch out for your son!"
As the saying goes, different jobs are worlds apart. Those in logistics thinking about getting a piece of military contracting? Don't they know that defense companies are made of ruthless people who, at the slightest disagreement, regard life and death indifferently?
If even this basic awareness isn't there and they aspire to get a piece of Jiu Defense, it's like Santa Claus trying to climb down Satan's chimney—do they think they have lives to spare?
Upon hearing Hanna mention him, a terribly flustered Banks Saber said with a crying tone: "This has nothing to do with me!"
He clearly hadn't offended anyone, it was truly a disaster from out of the blue, and Hanna's sudden hostile turn left him utterly confused and extremely aggrieved.
"How does this not concern you, Banks? I'm telling you, you're in trouble, big trouble."
While driving, Hanna Gagar jabbed her finger at the young man in the passenger seat, who looked like a bullied schoolkid.
"Ah! I don't know anything!"
Banks, prompted by her fingernails, cried out like a child.
"Hanna, don't mess around!"
His father was immediately frantic, his exasperated voice coming through the phone.
Before this, Chairman Horton had never imagined that the young lady from the Gagar family would be so fierce. Not even a strong dose of a supernatural ability suppressant could tame her; instead, she powerfully stormed out of the Saber Group Building as if it were unoccupied.
"Old man, to hell with you!"
This time, Hanna Gagar was truly frantic.
Even someone who was always reliable and even considered a generational family friend dared to betray her, almost stripping her of all sense of security.
Luckily, she had Xiao Jiu by her side, a Pure Light Sparrow not taken seriously by the other party but actually a Third Rank Magical Beast, which really helped her out this time.
Otherwise, her escape wouldn't have been so easy.
"Hey, Niece Hanna, let's talk this over, let's talk this over, hey hey, beep beep, beep beep, beep beep..."
Hanna Gagar couldn't be bothered to listen and directly hung up the call.
Banks, his eyes still swollen, unable to open them, grimacing from unbearable pain between his legs, said, "Hanna, can't we just talk it out!"
Father and son were now speaking in the same tone, both terrified beyond measure.
"Shut up!"
Still driving, Hanna Gagar picked up the phone and quickly dialed a number, connecting almost immediately.
"Who is this?"
The tone carried confusion, clearly not expecting this unfamiliar number.
"'Rookie', it's Hanna Gagar!"
At the mention of the name 'Rookie', Xiao Jiu, perched on the headrest of the driver's seat, immediately excited.
Who else could be called 'Rookie' so often but its very own Chen Fei?
Immediately, it flapped its little wings and landed on the dashboard's air vent, chirping frantically at the phone.
"Huh? Manager Hanna, and Xiao Jiu? Why the new number?"
Hanna Gagar was no longer just the manager of the Aircrew Base but now the CEO and chairman of Jiu Defense Company, the big BOSS who paid everyone's salaries, although Chen Fei had gotten used to calling the old title and hadn't changed his habit yet.
Nowadays, mobile phone numbers are globally connected, even capable of reaching Cangqiong Star, and are tied to a universal personal account. To switch phones, one simply needs to log into their personal account to access their personal cloud, which is very convenient.
A personal account can be linked to multiple phone numbers, creating different social circles, but it is not common for someone familiar to change their number.
"This isn't my phone, I've been injected with a Supernatural Ability Suppressant, you need to come and save me."
In the American Continent, the most reliable help Hanna Gagel could find would probably be Chen Fei from Jiu Defense.
Even with others, no one could guarantee they wouldn't engage in unsavory conspiracies like Horton from the Saber Group.
The fledgling Jiu Defense owned an existing Aircrew Base and the top Combat Flight Squadron, along with piles of supplies. Before establishing its own position in the Jianghu, it was like a child holding gold through a bustling market, inevitably attracting covetous glances.
The immediate priority was to secure the defenses of Jiu Defense, then to make an example out of someone unfortunate to establish their Jianghu position.
"Location? I'm on my way!"
Chen Fei immediately tensed up.
"Hu Xier State, Polis, come here first, then I'll give you the exact location," said Hanna.
Chen Fei understood the little guy's joy, but now was not the time to play with birds.
He quickly grasped the fluttering little bird, only to discover it was clutching a small scroll in its claws, and he immediately smiled.
Boss Hana, cautious as ever, was still playing the game of passing messages through birds.
A completely black little bird flying back and forth in the city was indeed very inconspicuous, and unless missiles were used, it was very difficult to intercept a Third Rank Magical Beast Sparrow.
"Citice Coffee Shop."
Chen Fei read the words written on the scroll, which was an address.
Clearly, this was the rendezvous point with Boss Hana—yes, it had that vibe.
"Let's go, Xiao Jiu!"
Chen Fei stuffed the little bird into his jacket pocket.
The small delicate body hidden in the human's pocket was almost invisible from the outside.
Citice Coffee Shop was less than a hundred meters from Chen Fei's hotel, and he easily found the place.
There were not many people in the coffee shop. Chen Fei looked around but did not see Hanna Gagar. While he was wondering, he heard someone softly say from behind, "Go inside, seat C23, order some food, I'll come over later."
Chen Fei was startled but quickly caught on and nodded imperceptibly.
Gently tapping his pocket, he whispered, "Xiao Jiu, don't make a sound!"
Seeing Hana's caution, he also became more careful.
There was a movement in his pocket; although the little one was mischievous and lively, it was also very obedient.
Having just sat down at seat C23 inside the coffee shop, a waiter approached.
"Sir, what would you like to order?"
"An Italian coffee, do you have sandwiches?"
Chen Fei flipped through the slim menu handed to him, it was only a few thin pages—obviously a café that catered to regulars, most items were not listed on the menu and needed to be ordered verbally, a challenge for the kitchen staff as well; if not varied enough, they couldn't cope.
"No problem, sir. We have ham sandwich, cod sandwich, pork floss sandwich, fried egg sandwich, and also lasagna, Italian pasta, hot dogs..."
The waiter listed a large number of food items. The café was not just a place for coffee, but also a place where you could get a full meal.
"An Italian coffee, one ham sandwich, and one seafood pasta with meatballs, that will be all."
Chen Fei quickly made his choice, treating it as lunch.
Coffee was first served, and a waiter's voice came from behind.
"Miss, what would you like to order?"
"A caramel macchiato and a tiramisu, just these two, thank you!"
"Yes, ma'am!"
Chen Fei's ears twitched.
He had ordered Italian coffee and Italian pasta; the person behind him ordered macchiato and tiramisu, both Italian as well.
This was not a coincidence.
"Don't look back!"
Chen Fei heard Hana's voice. She had used a voice changer before.
Was all this caution really necessary? He couldn't help muttering to himself.
"Many people in Polis are looking for me—not just people from the Saber Group, but also Apocalypse Defense, Merman Brothers United, and a few other small defense companies have been involved too."
Hana's voice came again, explaining so much caution.
"Apocalypse Defense, Merman Brothers United, wasn't the corporate war over?"
Chen Fei involuntarily widened his eyes and suppressed the urge to turn around.
"Ha! One abandons you as soon as its objective is achieved, turns its face and doesn't recognize you, and the other uses unexpected moves; the rest are just trying to pick up a bargain."
Hanna Gagar sneered.
The Saber Group, which had almost caused a huge loss for her, was one of those trying to pick up a bargain.
