Silva still decided to head to the adventurers' guild and get all of them registered, so he found the girls, and they moved out of the inn and into the busy streets of the capital.@@@@
As soon as they all stepped out, their party drew attention. The men looked at all the beautiful ladies walking with Silva and Aaron, while the ladies ate Silva and Aaron up with their eyes.
"The women I can understand, but why are some of the men looking at them like that? They haven't even managed to seduce their own ladies," Aaron said.
"The men's desires can't be stopped, Aaron, especially in a place like this where their women are taken by travelers who are better than them.
They have an innate nature to go after women, and with how starved they probably are now, their hunger will be deeper," Silva said.
They didn't bother themselves with the people around them, though. They made their way through the crowded streets. Carriages of all types passed through the main road, while pedestrians walked by the side.
Based on the information Aaron had gathered, the guild was not too far away from them, and it would take less than a ten-minute walk to get there.
They scaled through this unknown city peacefully, and finally, the guild was in sight. It was a three-story building that was pretty large, with the statue of a man holding up a sword into the sky and lightning coming from his feet.
"Who the heck is that?" Aaron asked.
"My guess is as good as yours. I think I should have read into their culture and shit more," Silva responded.
"It's probably a ruler or someone who did a heroic act or something that the kingdom had to recognize," Amber said from behind. "There are a lot of places in the elf empire that have statues built to honor people.
Silva looked at them. This was another fear that he had. Human lifespans were so short, and that was the order of things. He could try to find ways to give them a long life, but they would see friends and family die as they grew old. Find more to read at My Virtual Library Empire
And for a fact, he knew that increasing their lifespan in any way would be against order, and order would come for him. That being said, he had no way to even do it—nothing at all.
This was one reason he couldn't love. He couldn't care for them as they wanted him to. They would all die, leave him, and he would have to watch them go. And deep inside, he didn't want to allow himself to fall into that pain.
"Hey, guys, we should head to the guild," Silva said, completely avoiding the question that Fay had asked. He started walking towards the guild, but before he could get there, a loud sound of galloping filled his ears. Sure, there had been horses all around the street, but this time stood out.
They all turned and saw a well-built carriage headed through the street, being pulled by four horses. The exterior was black with gold designs.
The carriage rushed through like it was going to tear the streets apart. Everyone stepped aside, and the carriages and horses on the road moved away as fast as they could.
The carriage traveled fast, but as it was about to get past Silva and his party, it came to a stop. Silva let out a helpless sigh.
"Cliché," he said, having a thought about what was going to happen now. The carriage door swung open faster than the coachman could even get down to open it. A bulky man in armor came down, but he was not the only one inside.
There were about two or three more people inside the carriage, but the curtains blocked the view.
"You lot," the man barked out to them. "My lord, Ronald Von Miller, wants to have a word with you all. He asks that you follow him to his manor," the man said.
"Tell him to fuck off," Silva said and started walking. He didn't even want this drama right now.
