As Silva walked out of the room, he headed down the hallway of the inn. As he walked, he had a thought in his mind.
'Now, after this, everything should go back to normal, and I can continue what I need to do.'
He descended down a flight of stairs at a fast but steady pace. There seemed to be a big restaurant at the base of the inn. He was beginning to think it was something common in Ronan.
The seats were almost filled up, all sorts of people eating and discussing whatever they had to discuss. He found an empty table at the corner. It made sense for him to sit there because that way, he would be able to observe the whole place and know who was who.
He pulled out the chair quietly and sat down. He placed his elbow on the table and propped up his head with his palms.
He was not fully healed yet, but he was almost there, so his movements were unhindered. Some seconds after he sat down, a young lady approached his table to take his order.@@@@
She wore a simple black dress with purple collars and sleeves, seemingly the restaurant uniform. When she arrived at the table, she looked at Silva, about to take his order, but as she saw his face, she paused for a moment.
She admired the face, her mouth slowly opening, but Silva tapped on the table and snapped her out of it. She shook her head quickly and spoke.
"Sorry, please, can I take your order?" she asked. In her hand was a menu, but she didn't offer it. She still stood there looking at Silva.
Silva stretched out his hand to her, and again, she snapped out of it and quickly handed him the menu. He flipped through the small book and immediately found something of interest.
Though he couldn't call it steak, it was pretty much the same thing, so he pointed to the most expensive one. She looked at his order, and her eyes brightened because only the rich could afford that.
He handed her the book, and she scurried away quickly to get his order ready.
"Aaron, I want you to trust me right now. It might not make a lot of sense, but that memory in your head is real, very real, and yes, it has something to do with whatever happened to me.
There is something that I can't tell you about, because if I did, we would be back to square one. I want to try and find a way to tell you without resetting everything.
So I'll do my best to do just that, so you'll have to trust me and wait for me," Silva said.
"I see, so it's like that. Then I'll wait. Hopefully, I'll get to know what these memories are," Aaron said.
As he spoke, the waitress walked back to their table and served the food to Silva. She took a moment to pause and look at Silva before she turned and looked at Aaron. She didn't stare at him long, but she definitely stared.
As she walked away, Aaron looked pissed. "Why was mine shorter?" he asked, pouting. He was vexed at the fact that she stared at Silva longer while she didn't do the same for him.
"Is that really what you should be worried about now?" Silva said, unable to hide his smile.
"Well, I have an ego, you know," Aaron said. He picked up Silva's knives and forks, pulled the plate to himself, and started digging in. Discover more content at My Virtual Library Empire
"Hey, that was for me," Silva said.
"Well, I'm eating it now. You are a dragon anyway. You can go years without eating," Aaron said.
"It doesn't work that way," Silva said and snatched his plate back, but Aaron stabbed the meat with the fork and lifted the whole thing from the plate. He gave a victory laugh and took a big bite from it.
Silva laughed and let him be. He leaned back into his chair as he watched him.
