silva left the throne room after talking to drake. he headed straight for his mother's room, knocked twice on the door, and opened it.
"i was waiting for you to come," she said quietly.
"just give me my mother. i want to talk to her," silva said as he pulled a stool and sat in front of her. "give me my mother now," he demanded.
"fine," she said, her head twitching a bit before she refocused on silva.
"silva, my son," his mother said in a low voice, tears falling from her eyes. she stood up and immediately grabbed silva in a tight hug.
"i can't believe all that she told me. i don't want to believe that our lives have been a lie. you, your sister— they can't be lies," his mother sobbed into his shoulder.
"it's not a lie, mum. our lives have been real. you are real. you are my mother, and nothing will change that. i'll find a way. i'll take you out of her or kill her. i don't care what i have to do. azreal is not you, and this body does not belong to her. she is a parasite as far as i am concerned, and i'll get her out of you, one way or the other," silva said, holding his mother tightly.
after a while, he pushed his mother back, stared at her, and then spoke. "this is for you, azreal. your time is ticking. i want my mother, and i don't care what i have to do to get her back. i'll rip your consciousness apart if i have to. you brought this on yourself," he said in a cold tone before his eyes softened. "mum, just wait for me a little while, and we'll fix this."
"i trust you, silva, but be careful. i can't be fully around to watch over you in this state, but i'll do my best. i love you and your sister dearly. i want you both to remember that no matter what," his mother said before azreal took over.
"i'm not in the right state of mind for any of that. they can handle it themselves. all i've been able to think about is my next move or what i'll do about my mum and rose. there are so many serious issues for me to handle, and to be honest, quin's wedding is not as important. he is my brother, and i want to be there, but i need to focus on the important things first," silva said and kept reading through the files. enjoy more content from empire
"i don't think anything you said is the real reason. what you said makes little to no sense, to be honest. it's a crappy lie that you can't make time for your brother. i feel like you just don't want to make happy memories anymore. something must have caused you some sort of strain, and now you feel like joy will distract you," lily said.
"because it will. it will distract me completely. in the past few days, i've been through a lot, and it all points to the need to get serious. the world is near ruins from many angles, and if i don't work hard and fast, everything the others smile for might disappear," silva said.
"sigh. it gets harder to understand you every day. you hold so much information that it gets dangerous because you start struggling to navigate through it all," lily said.
"i have eleven powerful minds. i don't have any issues navigating my information. i do that easily. but right now, i just have to prioritize this," silva said.
"sigh. you don't understand me. well, that's not important right now. finish reading the details of what i've found," lily said.
"already done, and it's pretty good, but nothing concrete yet, like the components of the blood," silva said.
"well, i tried to find its components, but it's not going as well as i expected," lily said. she pulled out a dagger and walked to raiden. she slashed his arm and drew some blood.
"this blood is actually real blood, not synthetic, or so it seems. the blood feels all natural. maybe it's because it has merged with his body, but still, it shouldn't be this good. i don't know what the empire is doing, but they are doing it well. to be able to create this blood that feels and acts all natural is a crazy thing. i believe they are close to perfectly replicating demon blood," lily said.
