Chapter 79: Restoration Potion With Caroline’s indirect jab at his insignificant knowledge, Leonard made sure to retain an indifferent expression. If he were to make any reaction, then that would indirectly admit that she was correct. ’Damn, video games are indeed a lie.’ He cursed silently. The memories he recalled of a restoration potion were inherently different from the ones in this world. Despite guessing incorrectly, Leonard still blamed it on the naming aspect. If the potion was concocted and designed to recover the user from their earlier stage prior to the injuries, then shouldn’t it have been called a reversal potion? After all, they weren’t actually healing or restoring their injuries. But rather, they were being reverted to their original healthy state. "You should feed it to the woman first." Caroline urged, given that it was indeed like Leonard deduced. The potion was of a reversal kind, which meant the longer they stalled, the worse the effect would become. "Ah, yes." Mirelle snapped out of her daze. She opened the vial’s cap and was about to feed it to Claudia until Leonard extended his hand and halted her action. Amidst her dazedness, Leonard promptly snatched the vial from her hand. "You—" Mirelle’s eyes widened in shock at his behavior. Ignoring her gaze, Leonard proceeded to retrieve the cap and closed the vial. "Apologies, but I have no intention of paying for this kind of Restoration Potion." Leonard softly said. "I’ve never asked for payment." Caroline’s eyes narrowed and continued, "Also, the potion is meant for the woman. You don’t get to decide whether to use it or not." Amused, Leonard turned around and glanced at Mirelle. "If the potion is meant for my hired bodyguard, then by all means, she’s free to use it. But if the potion is meant for the slave I’ve purchased, then I’m afraid she doesn’t have any say in it." Nodding, Caroline didn’t refute his words. It was a fact that the slave collar around Claudia’s neck was visible to everyone. "You can deny her the treatment, but I suppose you’ll have to find another slave to purchase. With her current condition, she won’t even be able to move a muscle. I wonder if your night activity could even begin." She snickered. A few moments later, Leonard pursed his lips and feigned enlightenment that Caroline had a point. "Very well, a bed warmer can’t be inactive." Leonard tossed the vial back to Mirelle, who promptly opened it. At this moment, Claudia’s eyes had already turned hasty from the torture and couldn’t even emit a single sound. Despite her current state, she was still smiling brightly, almost like a complete maniac. Seeing her condition, Mirelle clenched her fist discreetly while she lifted her back to spoon-feed her the substance. Sometime later, the bloody marks on her body started to dissipate. What was alarming was that the blood that was splattered across the ground began to rise up. The supposedly crimson tiles returned to their sparkly clean state—precisely what one might call a restoration. Leonard watched the scene with an indifferent expression. But silently, he was amazed and intrigued by the Restoration Potion, which was clearly above the average norm of a healing potion. ’Even the environment surrounding the user would be restored. Just what kind of ability did Caroline hold?’ He was starting to understand Caroline’s status in the research facility. Sometime later, Claudia regained clarity, having recovered most of the lost blood, and her torn flesh reattaching together. Although it wasn’t a complete reversal due to the consumption being rather late, the effect still proved that the Restoration Potion was legit. "This potion is miraculous," Mirelle said, and helped Claudia to get up. Claudia’s expression was cold, but compared to previous times, it was already better. She didn’t bother to curse at Mirelle. Instead, her gaze was fixated on Leonard. From her eyes alone, it appeared as if she was summoning multiple poisonous daggers to strike at him. The illusion was quite powerful because of her accumulated kill count. Leonard could sense the hostility but ignored them. No matter how powerful her ability was or how intense her killing intent was, she could never harm him directly. However, she could definitely harm him indirectly or in another roundabout way. He had learned his lesson and made sure to have an absolute command over Claudia so that she was never allowed to harm him in any way. Even if she might not be involved, if any harm befalls him, then she would also suffer immensely. While Leonard had many things on his mind, Caroline clasped her hands and once again suggested going to her room first. This time, Leonard didn’t refuse or make any statement and simply agreed to it. 3rd Floor, Room 1A Upon arriving at Claudia’s room, and the door behind them closed, her gaze swiftly turned cold. In the blink of an eye, she had locked down the room with a powerful formation. Soon, she extended her palm and formed a stacked magic formation, its target being none other than Leonard. Facing the intense pressure, Leonard clenched his fist to resist and remained still. He wouldn’t falter, no, he couldn’t falter in the face of danger. "Not bad to still remain tall. But you’ve messed with the wrong person today." Caroline snorted coldly. She didn’t make a move in public because of the circumstances. However, they were now in her private room, equipped with multiple magic formations. "No, you cannot harm him, Caroline." Panicked, Mirelle hurriedly rushed to the front and extended her arms wide. "What’s wrong with you, Mirelle?" At this moment, Caroline was truly dumbfounded by her action. Why was she still adamantly trying to defend this kind of scum? Suddenly, Caroline thought Mirelle must have been concerned about the repercussions in the aftermath. "You don’t have to worry, Mirelle. Didn’t you witness the Restoration Potion power? I’m just teaching this bastard a lesson. Not to mention, he can’t even accuse me of anything when this room is enclosed." She calmly explained, her magic formations brightening at a rapid rate.
