"Don’t worry, sis. You’re so beautiful; we’ll make sure you’re left with a whole corpse," the man with the finger ring said softly.
Qiao Yuxian lowered her head, seeming utterly despondent.
The hemp rope in the man’s hand stretched taut, approaching her fair, slender neck.
Just as it was about to touch her, Qiao Yuxian suddenly broke free from the ropes binding her, raised her hand, and grabbed the hemp rope.
She held the rope, turned her wrist, and looped the rope around the man’s neck beside her.
With a pull, the man stumbled toward her, and she swiftly kneed him in the ribs.
With a crack, the man clutched his stomach and fell to the ground.
The entire process happened very quickly.
The man with the finger ring hadn’t even reacted before he was on the ground.
He quickly stood up, realizing he had provoked a tough opponent, and hurriedly shouted, "Help! Help! Everyone, come here!"
As he spoke, he headed toward the warehouse exit.
Qiao Yuxian quickly caught up with him, grabbed his collar, and threw him back into the warehouse.
Then she dealt with the others.
In less than five minutes, all eight thugs were on the ground.
Only three people were left.
The two small lackeys had long cowered in a corner of the warehouse, afraid to move.
The remaining man was the one Qiao Yuxian set her eyes on.
Despite a seemingly calmer demeanor than before, his leg suddenly trembled.
If he hadn’t been holding onto the discarded table beside him, he would have knelt directly.
"You..."
Qiao Yuxian held a piece of rope in her left hand, the rope that had bound her hands.
After freeing herself, she didn’t discard it. While fighting, she wrapped it around her left hand.
She unwrapped the rope as she approached the man.
"You said something right. Kill the chicken to warn the monkey," Qiao Yuxian spoke slowly, with a smile.
But this smile seemed like a deadly blade.
"What are you doing? What are you doing?" The man retreated continuously as she approached. "I’m telling you, you touch me, I guarantee you won’t live past tomorrow."
Qiao Yuxian’s eyes showed no fear. She pushed him against the wall step by step. While he trembled and threatened, she deftly looped the rope around his neck.
She quickly tied a knot, then exerted force.
The rope tightened, and she dragged the man a few steps.
He fell to the ground, wedging his hands between his neck and the rope, trying desperately to loosen it.
Qiao Yuxian’s wrists bore marks from the earlier binding; the Peace Pendant on her left wrist stood out painfully red. Her wrists were slender, and as she exerted force, the tendons under her skin became pronounced.
She held a piece of rope, squatting down to watch him, a sharp smile in her beautiful fox-like eyes: "Others could get a number for a meager price, yet you, holding onto these numbers, earning life-saving money, creating class distinctions. You talk about the inevitability of existence? I see only the inevitability of your annihilation."
"Let me go, do you know who’s above me?" the man struggled to say.
Qiao Yuxian’s face held a mocking smile: "Sending Feng Chuanbai’s protected organization inside, the shock should be as severe as the sky falling."
The man looked at her in panic: "You..."
"The mist clears, Fengdu appears," Qiao Yuxian said softly, "You use these six words to show off with me. Did you think I hadn’t heard of it?"
The man’s face turned red from holding his breath, his expression growing more terrified, lying on the ground while his legs couldn’t stop shaking.
"Just Feng Chuanbai, just Ghost Street," Qiao Yuxian’s voice was light, yet incredibly arrogant, "and you dare to take my life?"
"Who exactly are you?"
Qiao Yuxian raised an eyebrow, exerting a bit more force, and said calmly, "Who am I? You’re not worthy of knowing."
The man shuddered more violently, his legs kicking at the ground repeatedly. The finger ring on his hand fell off due to the friction with the rope, rolling to the ground.
It wasn’t that he was being strangled, but purely because the rope had tightened, and he was scared.
Qiao Yuxian let out a soft laugh: "Relax. I won’t take your life. I will let you hear with your own ears how Ghost Street changes its name. I’ll let you see with your own eyes how Feng Chuanbai goes in to keep you company. Let you both cross Ghost Street... to hell..."
Her words had just fallen when chaotic parking sounds came from outside the warehouse.
Who knows how many vehicles.
Screeching brakes, car doors closing, followed by hurried footsteps approaching...
Not only were there many people, but it sounded like they had surrounded the warehouse.
Qiao Yuxian squatted on the ground, slightly turned, and looked behind her.
The man lying on the ground suddenly gained strength, his struggles became more intense: "Little sis, did you hear how many people are outside? A few against dozens, could you possibly make it out?"
Qiao Yuxian looked at the doorway, ignoring him, keeping her grip on the rope tight so he couldn’t escape.
"Listen to a word of advice, sis. Let me go now, and I can make you comfortable later," The man struggled, panting, "Otherwise, the worse it gets, the worse it’ll be. You’re a girl facing so many men, should imagine what might happen."
Qiao Yuxian looked at him, and her hand suddenly tightened further.
The man could no longer speak.
Hearing the approaching footsteps outside, her eyes turned dark, gradually growing numb and cold...
Realizing someone was coming in, Qiao Yuxian suddenly turned to face the door.
Like a fierce beast eyeing its opponent.
The warehouse entrance was backlit, obscuring the face’s clarity.
Qiao Yuxian only saw a tall, slender man striding in quickly.
In the afternoon, the warehouse had no windows, it was somewhat dark.
The man quickly approached, bringing the light from outside with him, his appearance gradually became clearer.
As their eyes met, Gu Yanjing faced Qiao Yuxian’s killing aura and bloody scent directly. Those beautiful eyes had turned numb with no hint of brightness.
Qiao Yuxian coldly looked into Gu Yanjing’s eyes, after a few seconds, she paused.
Gu Yanjing, in his haste to leave, had forgotten his jacket, wearing only a shirt and vest, his tie undone, leaving the collar slightly open. Cold and casual.
His straight legs in suit pants took steady steps closer.
Qiao Yuxian gazed at him dazedly for a while, her eyelashes trembled slightly before her eyes lowered.
Gradually, she gathered her fierceness.
Chu Zhengran and Lin Huai Shu had been quick to get out of the car together with Gu Yanjing, but were still a few steps behind him.
Once both entered the warehouse, they stood stationary at the entrance.
They didn’t move, so the people behind them didn’t move either.
This scene was entirely different from what they had imagined.
A ground full of fallen men.
Although dim inside and at some distance, it was still clear to see Qiao Yuxian dragging someone down with the rope.
Both stood at the entrance, shocked, instinctively exchanged glances.
Gu Yanjing’s footsteps didn’t halt, he walked directly to Qiao Yuxian, grabbing her wrist and pulled her up.
Qiao Yuxian let go of the rope in her hand, stood upright, and staggered toward Gu Yanjing.
Gu Yanjing held her hand, looking her over from top to bottom.
Finally, his gaze rested on her reddened wrists.
Coincidentally, at this moment, the man lying down struggled to remove the rope from his neck, grunting as he tried to rise.
Gu Yanjing looked at him.
Just as he was about to stand up, Gu Yanjing kicked his shoulder.
This kick used full force, the man fell heavily, making a resounding muffled sound. Dust flew, internal organs seemed displaced, even the ground seemed to tremble slightly.
Lin Huai Shu touched his heart at the entrance, moved closer to Chu Zhengran, saying, "Have you ever seen Yanjing so angry?"
Gu Yanjing’s kick seemed wanting to take his life.
"I’ve only seen him this angry at Gu Zhengyu," Chu Zhengran replied blandly, his eyes falling on Qiao Yuxian.
His expression was dark and indistinguishable.
