Chapter 96: Chapter 96: Only Someone Like That Would Say Such Things
Jin Jumo’s mouth twitched, her expression somewhat complicated.
"What’s wrong?" Rong Mochen frowned.
Jin Jumo pressed her lips tightly and shook her head.
Rong Mochen didn’t ask further, but his deep black eyes fixed on Jin Jumo.
Half an hour later, the Spyker stopped in front of Shanshui Villa, and Rong Mochen was the first to get out of the car.
Jin Jumo sat in the car without moving, somewhat stunned.
The luxury cars parked in front of the villa looked like they could hold an exhibition. And, what’s with all these people coming and going all dressed up and glamorous?
Isn’t it just a fifteen-year-old girl’s birthday party? Does it need to be so extravagant?
And this is just outside the villa; who knows how grand it is inside!
Rong Mochen handed the car keys to the young man responsible for parking and turned his head to see Jin Jumo sitting dazed in the car. He slightly furrowed his brows, approached, opened the car door for her, bent down to unbuckle her seatbelt, and gently took her hand, "Careful."
Jin Jumo looked at him with slightly dazed eyes, let out a light breath in her heart, and carefully got out of the car holding her dress.
As soon as her feet touched the ground, a cheerful, deep male voice came over.
"Mo Chen, Momo."
Jin Jumo followed the voice and her mouth twitched.
Rong Sinan and Tang Ruan seemed to have just gotten out of their car as well. When they saw her and Rong Mochen, a joyful smile spread across Rong Sinan’s gentle face as he limped lightly towards them.
Rong Mochen glanced at Rong Sinan’s left leg, his black eyes flashed quickly, and he led Jin Jumo forward a few steps, "Big Brother."
Rong Sinan made a fist and gently tapped Rong Mochen’s shoulder, showing a close bond. Rong Mochen’s thin lips curved slightly, making him seem particularly approachable, quite different from his usual self with others.
Jin Jumo couldn’t help but take another look at Rong Mochen.
"Miss Jin, you look really beautiful today." Tang Ruan said softly, looking gently at Jin Jumo with a low, soft voice.
Jin Jumo obediently squinted her eyes and smiled, "You look very beautiful too."
Tang Ruan was wearing a white off-shoulder evening gown today. Her exposed shoulders looked delicate but appealing, and her hair was elegantly pulled back with loose strands. Her light makeup made her appear more gentle and serene.
Tang Ruan smiled faintly and was about to say something when her eyes suddenly stopped at the embroidery on Jin Jumo’s dress. Her beautiful face turned pale, and she slowly lifted her head to stare at Jin Jumo, a weak smile on her lips, "This dress is finely crafted, every stitch is handmade. In all of Z City, probably only Yige can create such a delicate dress."
She knows Yige too...
Jin Jumo’s eyes flickered but quickly understood. It’s not surprising since Rong Mochen knows her.
"Miss Jin might not know, but Yige is my sister." Tang Ruan murmured.
Sister?
Jin Jumo’s mouth twitched, thinking about this connection...
"Even though Yige is my sister, I’ve never managed to get a single dress from her." Tang Ruan’s voice was mournful, filled with bitterness.
Jin Jumo narrowed her eyes slightly and remained silent.
"Speaking of which, it’s almost been a year since Sinan and I got married, and nearly a year since I last saw Yige." Tang Ruan’s voice grew quieter, and she seemed to become somewhat depressed as she spoke.
Jin Jumo didn’t understand the rift between the sisters, but Tang Ruan seemed to intentionally or unintentionally bring up being married to Rong Sinan for a year and not seeing Yige...
So, could it be that Yige and Rong Sinan, or... Rong Mochen...
No.
Judging by Rong Mochen and Yige’s interaction today, it didn’t seem like there was any emotional entanglement between them, so it must be Yige and Rong Sinan...
With this thought, Jin Jumo glanced slightly at Rong Sinan.
Indeed, Rong Sinan’s face turned ugly. His usually open and gentle eyes now carried a hint of gloom, and his lips were tightly pressed together in silence.
Jin Jumo’s eyes twitched as she thought this family’s dynamics were excessively complicated! It made her feel uneasy.
"Big Brother, the banquet is about to start. Let’s head inside." Before the atmosphere could become any weirder, Rong Mochen spoke up in time.
Rong Sinan’s expression changed multiple times before he nodded.
Tang Ruan seemed very disappointed, a hint of sadness clinging to her brows and eyes, as she looked at Jin Jumo, "Miss Jin, are you and Yige very close?"
Jin Jumo glanced at the frowning Rong Sinan and licked her lower lip, "I met Sister Yi today for the first time." Not very close!
"I see." Tang Ruan gave a faint, somewhat colorless smile, "I thought Miss Jin and Yige were good friends. I wanted to ask Miss Jin to help set up a meeting with Yige on my behalf... Whenever I invite her, she always finds an excuse to refuse."
"..." Jin Jumo could only offer a polite smile, not knowing how to continue the conversation.
Among the four of them present, except for Tang Ruan, probably no one else wanted to continue this topic!
Rong Mochen squinted his eyes slightly, holding Jin Jumo’s hand tightly, and said, "Let’s go."
Jin Jumo couldn’t agree more, and nodded.
The two brothers exchanged a glance, and Rong Mochen led Jin Jumo into the villa.
Tang Ruan watched the backs of Rong Mochen and Jin Jumo, the desolation in her eyes growing stronger.
"Let’s go inside too," Rong Sinan said after looking at Tang Ruan, his expression somewhat tense, and his voice colder than usual.
Tang Ruan was slightly surprised, her eyes meeting his deep and somber gaze as she took a breath, reaching out to grasp his arm, "Husband, are you angry?"
Her voice was soft and urgent, her pale face marked by anxiety, her eyes carrying a hint of mist.
Rong Sinan felt a pang in his heart, his expression softening slightly, as he reached out to stroke her face, "No."
Tang Ruan didn’t seem convinced as she continued to stare at him, her long eyelashes moist, "Sinan, are you really not angry?"
Rong Sinan gazed at her for a moment, suddenly and helplessly smiled, and embraced her, "Silly girl, how could I bear to be?"
Tang Ruan leaned against Rong Sinan’s chest, her long eyelashes hanging low, concealing the emotions in her eyes.
Rong Mochen led Jin Jumo to the entrance of the banquet hall, then gently wrapped her hand around his arm.
Jin Jumo’s eyes flickered as she looked at him.
Rong Mochen’s expression was cool and detached, his chiseled face etched with coldness and aloofness. As he sensed Jin Jumo’s gaze, a trace of softness appeared in his indifferent black eyes, and he turned slightly to look at her.
As her gaze met his profound black eyes for a second, Jin Jumo’s cheeks grew warm, and she quickly diverted her eyes, only to be stunned by the sight before her.
The once lively hall had somehow fallen silent, and everyone’s eyes turned toward them with varied expressions, all tinged with curious scrutiny.
And from the doorway to the center of the hall, people had instinctively moved aside to make a path.
Jin Jumo’s face showed no emotion, but she didn’t feel comfortable under such scrutiny, as she really didn’t like grand occasions like this or the attention that came with it.
Instinctively, the hand entwined around Rong Mochen’s arm tightened slightly.
Rong Mochen’s black eyes narrowed faintly, his other hand gently squeezing her hand resting on his arm, as if to comfort her.
Jin Jumo pressed her lips together and leaned her body closer to Rong Mochen’s arm.
Rong Mochen raised his long eyebrows slightly, looking down at Jin Jumo, the corners of his thin lips curving slightly as he whispered in her ear, "Scared?"
"..." Jin Jumo’s face heated up, she glanced at Rong Mochen with a glance, a stubborn gleam flashing in her peach blossom eyes, remaining silent.
"Mr. Rong, this way please."
The attendant with a bow tie approached, respectfully extending his hand in one direction, "The third young master is waiting for you over there."
Without looking at the attendant, Rong Mochen nodded slightly.
The attendant stood slightly to the left, maintaining a bowed posture, walking forward while attending to Rong Mochen.
"Little Mo Mo." Even before they got closer, a lightly challenging voice came from afar.
Jin Jumo’s eyes twitched, and she looked up to see Gu Yan in a properly fitted white suit, wearing a navy blue tie, with his hair styled like a trendy South Korean idol.
His cherubic face beamed with a smile, his black lively eyes curving, looking very likable.
Provided he hadn’t called out to Jin Jumo beforehand.
