Chapter 95: Chapter 95: An Unstoppable Heartbeat
Rong Mochen pursed his lips indifferently, not saying anything.
Without a cigarette in hand, the woman seemed unaccustomed, wrapping her arms around her waist, walking towards Jin Jumo, and smiled gracefully at her, "Yige. You can just call me by my name, or Sister Yi."
Jin Jumo withdrew her gaze from Rong Mochen, looked at Yige, and smiled, "Sister Yi, Jin Jumo."
Yige took Jin Jumo’s hand, "Come."
"...Where are we going?" Jin Jumo was passively led by her, somewhat at a loss, subconsciously looking at Rong Mochen.
Jin Jumo knew he definitely knew she was looking at him, but he merely lowered his eyes indifferently, pretending not to know.
Pursing her lips tightly, Jin Jumo sighed inwardly, being pulled by Yige into a partition in the studio.
Stepping inside, Jin Jumo was surprised by the setup and scene strikingly different from the outside.
The room was filled with exquisitely designed, unique ladies’ clothing of all kinds.
Mostly cheongsams and evening gowns.
The colors of the cheongsams and evening gowns were mostly vibrant, predominantly in red, sapphire blue, magenta, and dark green.
"Pick whichever you like, choose one and change into it." Yige leaned against the doorway, smiling at Jin Jumo.
Jin Jumo took a breath, turned to look at her, "Sister Yi, are all these outfits prepared by the studio for customer shoots?"
Yige instinctively moved her fingers—habitually holding cigarettes—to her lips, chuckled helplessly upon realizing the cigarettes weren’t there, and looked at Jin Jumo, "No, I designed these myself for fun. Occasionally, I design a piece or two for some socialites, just depends on my mood."
Such talent?
Seeing the admiration unconsciously showing in Jin Jumo’s eyes, Yige smirked charmingly, "This is nothing, Sister Yi is quite skilled, you’ll know soon enough."
Jin Jumo sweatdropped.
Indeed, talented people tend to be arrogant!
Sliding her fingers back and forth over the rows of cheongsams, Jin Jumo felt that each was so beautiful and unique that it made her want to have them all for herself.
Though she wasn’t particularly fond of cheongsams, every piece here was exquisite, with very fine craftsmanship, like they were... handmade.
Even the patterns on the cheongsams seemed to be stitched on one stitch at a time.
She thought, if someone like herself who doesn’t love cheongsams could like every piece here, someone who truly loves them would probably be reluctant to leave once they arrived.
Perhaps noticing Jin Jumo’s difficulty in deciding, Yige stepped forward and precisely picked out a magenta cheongsam and a floor-length strapless dark green gown with a vintage floral pattern for her, "Trust Sister Yi, you’ll be a knockout in these two!"
"..." Jin Jumo twitched her lips, silently accepting the two items from her hands and turned into the dressing room.
Yige then leaned against the wall beside the dressing room, crossing her arms and waiting, "Ju Mo."
"Hmm?"
"This is the first time Mo Chen has brought a girl here," Yige said.
"..." There was no sound from Jin Jumo inside.
Yige smiled, not saying anything further.
Sometimes, it’s not about how much you say, but whether there’s a point.
Jin Jumo and Yige came out of the partition an hour later.
As she stepped out, Jin Jumo sensed a deep gaze sweeping over her.
Breathing a little tighter, Jin Jumo nervously clutched her skirt, lowered her head, and slowly walked out.
As soon as Yige came out, she started looking around for a cigarette, something usually easy to find was nowhere to be found today.
Yige was a bit anxious, her beautiful face was tightly knit with frustration, running downstairs then upstairs, and back down again.
Finally standing in front of Rong Mochen, "Mo Chen, give me a cigarette."
"Don’t have any." Rong Mochen glanced at her indifferently, put down his crossed long legs, and stood up from the sofa.
"Who are you kidding, with your usual heavy cigarette habit, how could you not have any on you?" Yige asked anxiously.
"Quit." Rong Mochen replied calmly.
Quit?
Jin Jumo was also surprised upon hearing this, looking over at him.
"..." Yige was stunned, "Since when?"
Rong Mochen’s deep black eyes fixed on her, "Just now."
"..." Yige’s face turned green!
Rong Mochen no longer looked at her, turning his eyes towards the slightly awkward Jin Jumo standing there.
Jin Jumo’s cheeks trembled slightly, instinctively taking a small step back.
Noticing Rong Mochen’s fingertips pause, Jin Jumo suddenly regretted retreating.
She’d already displeased him, and now...
Jin Jumo nervously pursed her lips, raising her eyes to look at Rong Mochen.
Rong Mochen’s face showed little emotion, only the intensity in his dark eyes seemed to have dissipated somewhat.
Jin Jumo couldn’t help but feel a bit disheartened, speaking up, "What are we doing next?"
Rong Mochen squinted, reaching out to straighten the coat on Jin Jumo, then turned his head slightly to look at Yige, who was still searching for a cigarette around the studio, "Tang Yige."
"What?" Yige turned her anxious head to look at him.
Rong Mochen curved his lips.
Yige stared at Rong Mochen’s raised lips, thinking she must’ve been mistaken, rubbed her eyes and muttered, "Seeing ghosts in broad daylight, our big boss actually smiling, how rare!"
Rong Mochen chuckled softly, pulling Jin Jumo’s hand and leading her out of the studio, "Perhaps in the trash bin you’ll find what you’re looking for."
His calm voice floated in from outside the studio.
Yige was stunned for a moment, quickly turning her head toward the trash bin, and indeed found everything she was looking for inside, causing her face to twitch sharply with anger, Yige gritted her teeth, taking deep breaths to suppress herself, but couldn’t help but suddenly shout towards the door, "Rong Mochen, don’t let me see you again!!"
Just as they stepped into the elevator, hearing Yige’s deep, life-risking roar of anger, Jin Jumo’s mouth twitched hard, casting a sidelong glance at someone, but found said someone unfazed, calm and collected.
Jin Jumo couldn’t help but feel a bit sorry for Yige!
After leaving the studio, although Rong Mochen was holding Jin Jumo’s hand, he still refused to speak to her.
Having hit a wall several times, Jin Jumo didn’t have the nerve to approach this cold wall any longer.
After getting into the car, Rong Mochen did take the time to personally tuck Jin Jumo’s skirt into the car, then help her fasten the seatbelt before closing the door, going around the car’s front to sit in the driver’s seat.
Jin Jumo was wrapped in his coat, not thick, yet very warm.
Jin Jumo noticed he was only wearing a thin black suit, and his hand resting on the steering wheel was slightly red, as if cold.
Moved, Jin Jumo initially wanted to return the coat to him but felt it rather affected.
Thinking this, Jin Jumo silently reached out to turn on the heat in the car, setting it to the highest.
Rong Mochen noticed Jin Jumo’s little gesture; his thin lips slightly tightened, finally turning his eyes to look at her, his voice coolly asking, "Cold?"
Jin Jumo paused slightly, and said softly, "You gave me your coat, you’re colder than I am."
"..." Rong Mochen’s dark eyes narrowed, so she was worried about him being cold?
His long eyebrow slightly raised, Rong Mochen’s once cold face softened considerably, turned his head forward, and his tone warmed, "I’m not cold."
Jin Jumo stared at his softened profile, the unease in her heart gradually dissolving, her whole body relaxing.
About twenty minutes later, Jin Jumo suddenly remembered she still didn’t know where he was taking her.
Biting her lips slightly, Jin Jumo looked at Rong Mochen, "Mr. Rong, where are we going?"
"Shanshui Villa."
Shanshui Villa?
Where is this?
Jin Jumo frowned, still looking puzzled at Rong Mochen.
Rong Mochen gave her a sidelong glance, "Nan Qing’s place."
Xiao Nanqing’s house?
An idea quickly flashed through Jin Jumo’s mind, her peach blossom eyes held a sliver of hope, glancing helplessly at Rong Mochen, "We’re not going to a birthday party, right?"
"..." Rong Mochen raised his eyebrows slightly in surprise, gazing at Jin Jumo, "Yes."
It really is!
