Chapter 82: Chapter 82: Rong Mochen: Why Are You Crying (3)
Grandpa, can you hold on a little longer for me?
Jin Jumo emerged from the hospital room once again, and it was already past ten at night.
As soon as she stepped out, Jin Jumo spotted Ying Jingyao sitting on the bench down the hallway.
Lowering her eyes slightly, Jin Jumo walked over to him and sat beside him.
"Momo, are you okay?" Ying Jingyao had been watching her with concern since she came out.
Jin Jumo lowered her head, pinching her fingers, "Brother Ying, isn’t the answer to your question quite obvious?"
How could she be alright?
At four, she was sent to the welfare institution by Liang Yi, and it was Jin Jiancheng who took her out, giving her a warm home.
At seven, her adoptive parents died in a car accident for her.
From seven to nineteen, she only had Jin Jiancheng as her companion.
This year, Jin Jiancheng has been her sole support.
Curing Jin Jiancheng is her only hope and goal.
Now, they’ve suddenly told her that if there isn’t a suitable heart, he’ll leave her forever in a month. How could she be okay?
Ying Jingyao’s eyes pained, "I’m sorry, Momo."
Jin Jumo raised her eyes to glance at him, "Brother Ying, don’t say that. I know, if not for you, my grandpa might not have made it through this year."
Pressing her lips together, Jin Jumo looked at him earnestly, "Brother Ying, I want to ask you for one thing."
Ying Jingyao almost didn’t need to think to know what she was about to say.
He reached out to hold Jin Jumo’s shoulder, sincerely gazing into her eyes, "Momo, I know what you want to say. How could I possibly leave for the UK in such circumstances?"
Jin Jumo’s eyes turned slightly red, as she gratefully tugged her lips, "Thank you, Brother Ying."
"Silly girl!" Ying Jingyao smiled warmly at her, ruffling her hair, "No need to be polite with Brother Ying."
Because she was uneasy about Jian Liangtong, Jin Jumo took a taxi back to school.
Returning to the dormitory, she found it dark, and Jian Liangtong was nowhere to be seen.
Her heart sank as Jin Jumo hurriedly ran to Jian Liangtong’s dormitory, only to be informed that she hadn’t returned.
Jin Jumo’s face tightened as she quickly picked up her phone to dial her number.
"She’s with me." The moment the call connected, Jin Jumo hadn’t even started talking when a cold voice drifted over.
Jin Jumo was stunned, "Is this Huo Shaojun?"
"Yes." Huo Shaojun paused briefly before responding.
Jin Jumo exhaled deeply, knowing Jian Liangtong was with Huo Shaojun, she was relieved.
Ending the call, Jin Jumo returned to her own dormitory.
The dormitory was too quiet.
This silence made her feel inexplicably oppressed.
Clearly, she was standing in the dormitory at the moment, yet she felt that her heart had no place to go, as if it had suddenly been emptied, feeling starkly hollow.
Taking a deep breath, Jin Jumo suddenly turned around and left the dormitory.
Stepping out of the dormitory building, Jin Jumo initially planned to take a taxi back to the hospital.
Just as she walked past the west gate, she caught sight of a Cayenne car parked not far away.
Halting her steps, Jin Jumo bit her lip, staring at the Cayenne.
Familiar car body, familiar license plate, it was indeed the Cayenne that always came to pick her up.
But, the contract between her and Rong Mochen had already expired.
So, it made no sense for this Cayenne to be waiting for her, right?
Perhaps Rong Mochen had "signed" someone else who happened to be at the same university as her!
Thinking this way, Jin Jumo withdrew her gaze and walked towards the roadside.
Barely two steps in, the car horn beeped loudly again.
Jin Jumo stopped once more and looked around. Seeing no one approaching the car, she suspiciously looked over.
As she looked over, the horn sounded again very conveniently.
Jin Jumo frowned.
So, it really was waiting for her?
Jin Jumo stood where she was, hesitating for a while before stepping towards the Cayenne.
As she got closer, Jin Jumo realized that it wasn’t the driver in the driver’s seat but Rong Mochen himself!
The car lights were off and the streetlight was rather dim.
He sat silently in the shadows, his deep black eyes gazing softly at her, with an unwavering calm and restraint, making it daunting even without a word.
Jin Jumo stood outside the passenger seat window, looking at Rong Mochen through the glass.
Rong Mochen lowered the car window, his deep eyes quietly watching Jin Jumo, "Not getting in?"
Jin Jumo pressed her lips together, opened the door, and got in, not fastening her seatbelt, clearly having something to say.
"Rong..."
"Have you been crying?"
They spoke almost simultaneously.
Jin Jumo opened her mouth, frowning at him.
Rong Mochen kept a steady face, "Why were you crying?"
Jin Jumo breathed deeply, turned to look out the window before turning back to Rong Mochen, "Does Mr. Rong have something to discuss?"
Her tone was distant and formal, without a hint of the carefulness and flattery from before when meeting him.
Rong Mochen lowered his brows, and the surrounding atmosphere chilled as his black eyes fixed on Jin Jumo, "Does it have to be something to find you for?"
Jin Jumo pressed her lips tightly, looking at him for a long moment before speaking slowly, "Did Mr. Rong forget? Our contract has expired. So, I think we have no reason to meet again, don’t you think so, Mr. Rong?"
Jin Jumo felt heavy-hearted today. If she had met him yesterday, she definitely wouldn’t have dared to say these words.
Rong Mochen stared at Jin Jumo for a moment before coldly laughing, "I never noticed you were so heartless before."
"Mr. Rong is joking. Mr. Rong is the CEO of Rong Group, the richest man in Z City. How could someone like me matter to you?" Jin Jumo originally wanted to say, they were merely a transaction, the transaction had ended, and they should go their separate paths.
After all, talking about "affection" between them seemed quite laughable!
"What if I say I do?" Rong Mochen’s thin lips stretched into a straight line, sneering coldly.
Jin Jumo glanced at him without speaking.
If a person truly likes another, how could the other not sense it at all?
If they really can’t sense it at all, that can only mean, that person doesn’t like you.
Jin Jumo clearly understood the gap between her and Rong Mochen, and always remembered the words Rong Mochen said when signing the contract, so how could she presumptuously fall for such a high-status man?
"You don’t believe me?" Rong Mochen frowned, staring at her.
Jin Jumo took a breath and looked at him, "If Mr. Rong insists there is, then there is."
"..." Rong Mochen’s dark eyes squinted slightly, after a short pause, he raised his eyebrows, perhaps finding this topic meaningless, he didn’t continue with it.
Lightly pressing the corner of his lips, his black eyes quietly gazed at Jin Jumo, and his voice returned to its usual indifferent coldness, "Location?"
"..." Jin Jumo was stunned, looking at him puzzled.
"I’ll take you there." Rong Mochen proceeded to say.
"..."
Jin Jumo pressed her lips tightly, "No need to trouble Mr. Rong, I..."
"I insist!" Rong Mochen stared with his dark eyebrows, lightly parting his thin lips.
The tone was firm and domineering, leaving no room for refusal.
Jin Jumo held her lower lip, her delicate face showing a certain stubbornness, her Taohua eyes fixed on Rong Mochen, unwilling to yield.
Rong Mochen calmly glanced sideways at Jin Jumo, his long black eyes narrowing into slits, "It’s past eleven at night, I’m concerned."
Jin Jumo’s eyes shifted slightly, pausing for a moment, then said, "Linx Hospital."
Hospital?
Rong Mochen only then turned his eyes towards Jin Jumo, though he didn’t ask, his gaze carried a question.
Jin Jumo’s mouth set tightly, lowering her lashes, "It takes fifty minutes to get to the hospital from here, and if Mr. Rong has business, I can go by taxi myself."
Rong Mochen’s brows lowered, his thin lips coldly pulled, "Do you really think I’m that ungentlemanly? Since I promised to take you there, even if it takes fifty hours, it’s fine."
