Chapter 314. Mature Terragore Appears.
The energy surge stopped a few minutes later, not attracting further Terragore. However, that didn’t mean that those coming this way would stop. Thankfully, the number of enemies was constantly dwindling.
Both the <Restorative Army> and <Support Army> couldn’t help but feel their hearts shake. The ants were truly fearsome enemies to face. They turned a blind eye to deaths on either side and only focused on their task. On the other side, their singlemindedness made them extremely reassuring when allied to them.
A woman healing a large ant smiled. “At this pace, we will have less than one thousand deaths. The ants are doing great.”
A man by her side, helping with the healing, nodded seriously. “My horizons have expanded after seeing this battle. I can understand why, when having them as enemies, you would label them as such a scary threat.”@@@@
A Sylvan at the side added, her tone full of pride. “Lady Liu Shu’s serpents are also doing great. They are soaking most of the damage, and with their defense, our healing becomes extremely efficient.”
“Inde-”
BOOOM!
Everyone looked over and saw Ophion flying through the air and striking one of the pillars, creating cracks all the way up. Fear crept into their bodies, failing to imagine how or what flung their strongest combatant as if it were a lightweight. Verdantia turned her head and rushed over toward the serpent. “Ophion!? What happened!?”
Flor looked toward the passage and saw a shadow slowly walk forward. All the Arboreal Winged Serpents fighting in the frontline retreated with wary faces. It wasn’t only them; the Terragore also stopped attacking like maniacs and actually took a step back, regrouping.
Ignatia looked on with a serious face and muttered. “A real mature <Terragore>...”
Flor landed on Ignatia’s shoulder, her eyes locked on the large beast slowly advancing through the tunnel.
Liu Shu’s voice spread through the entire cave system with a heavy tone. “Two Level 50 <Terragore> are coming. What blasted Ophion flying is the strike of one of them.”
Ophion shook his head and looked with a serious face toward the passage. He hissed in a low tone, communicating with the other serpents. “There are two <Third Energy Cycle> enemies coming. We need to gang up on them, or we’ll have no chance. Coordinate with Liu Shu, as she should join the battle with these.”
A large female Arboreal Serpent nodded. “Big Brother, I’ll take the attention of one of them, and you will take the attention of the other. You are not strong enough to tank the attacks of two Level 50s.”
Ophion slithered forward, the other serpents following him. As he advanced, the ants parted to give way. “Sister, be careful. Their attack power is exceptional. Only attack when Liu Shu restrains them.” Ophion squinted. “With Liu Shu’s current stats, these two are far from invincible! FIGHT!”
Both sides didn’t move. Ignatia saw Flor trying to go forward. However, she grabbed her. Flor looked at Ignatia, confused. “Why are you stopping me?”
“We can’t help,” Ignatia said solemnly. “Look at the situation.”
Flor looked around and saw that a large, clear space had opened in the middle. On their side, the ten Serpents were clearly the strongest fighting force. On the enemy side, it was the two Level 50 Terragore.
Flor squinted and asked. “A fight of leaders?”
Ignatia nodded. “The two Terragore think that they are our leaders. So they have challenged them. Whoever wins this fight wins.”
Flor didn’t understand why, but she understood what was happening. So, instead of continuing to ask questions, she flew up and shouted. “No one interferes! Let the Arboreal Winged Serpents deal with the two Level 50 Terragore!”
Everyone frowned. Still, they followed orders.
The two mature Terragore saw the defiant Serpents approaching. Their bodies were small compared to the Arboreal Winged Serpents. Yet their auras were like a condensed power source, radiating incredible pressure.
“This is my territory. Your life is going to be the payment for this transgression.”
With one of the Level 50s tangled from head to toe, Liu Shu’s voice descended on the battlefield with such oppression that even the mindless Terragore felt respect and fear.
Not losing the chance to attack, the Serpents that had Aether Mana spells shot a myriad of attacks toward the tangled Terragore.
Before those attacks reached, a shadow flashed through the battlefield and appeared in front of the Terragore. It was the other mature Terragore! It had been fighting the other five serpents, but unlike Ophion’s group, they were unable to contain it. A garish glow illuminated the tunnel as the Terragore slashed with its enhanced claws.
BOOM!
The attacks reached the two, creating an explosion. Liu Shu communicated with the serpents. “The other one liberated it, but they still received part of the attack. To your right, Ophion. Leave one of them to me.”
Ophion and the other nine serpents turned to the right and saw the two creatures lunging toward Ophion, aiming to kill him. Before they arrived, another large root shot and coiled around the leg of one <Terragore>, snatching it down from mid-air.
BANG!
The Level 50 <Terragore> was slightly disoriented from the impact. However, its subconscious reactions were barely dulled. Its sense of danger flared up, and it slashed at the incoming roots.
SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!
The claws flashed with terrifying speed, slicing Liu Shu’s roots one after another and making blue sap splatter around it.
Flor’s heart hurt looking from afar. Nevertheless, she stayed firm while placing a hand on Verdantia’s and Harmonixia’s shoulders. “Don’t interrupt, or their efforts will be for nothing!”
Both Sylvans bit down tightly, their eyes shooting cold rays toward the Level 50 Terragore hurting Liu Shu.
Meanwhile, with one of the Terragore tied down fighting Liu Shu, the ten Serpents could coordinate against the other Level 50. The tides of the battle completely turned. For starters, while the Level 50’s stats were high, it wasn’t that much higher than the serpents.
The reason for its overwhelming advantage and power was the <Third Energy Cycle> itself. Even with identical stats, a <First Energy Cycle> would always lose to a <Second Energy Cycle>. The Cycles were not only raw stats but control over the body, ternary essences, and much more. It was a threshold that separated creatures.
Still, regardless of how much advantage it had, the Arboreal Winged Serpents were far from normal monsters. Their skills were all cheat-like, and their bodies were sturdy, even among the weaker kind.
The Terragore was quick to notice and began to attack more brutally and hastily. Its previous arrogance was completely gone as it understood that it was in actual danger. When its attacks landed on the serpents, the numbers it saw were severely lacking: -60,000... -80,000... -75,000... These numbers were high, but compared to the large Phoer reserves of the Arboreal Winged Serpents, they didn’t make the cut.
Hit after hit, claw strike after claw strike. The Terragore fought back fearsomely. It was hoping that the other one would come to help soon, so it resisted with all its might. Sadly, when it looked over, the Terragore felt fear for the first time.
The companion had one leg and arm tightly grabbed while several dozen roots slammed down with ferocity on its body from every angle.
BANGBANGBANGBANGBANGBANGBANGBANGBANGBANGBANGBANGBANG!
The sound was like a torrential downpour on a metallic surface. Liu Shu could do little damage, between 3,000 and 6,000 damage per hit.
Regardless, the number of hits was terrifying.
The Level 50 Terragore could feel its very soul tremble with the countless strikes. One hit on the face, another on the waist, another on the middle of the arm, the shoulder, the leg, the head again. The Phoer energy was being depleted bit by bit at a terrifying pace.
The observers on both sides were stunned. Before Liu Shu managed to latch onto the Terragore, it had been impossible for the World Tree to deal damage. However, the second she grabbed the limbs, an avalanche of roots struck it from all sides, leaving it helpless.
