Chapter 275. Important Letter.
Flor was spending time in her office when she saw a letter surrounded by a few luxurious markings. Looking at that letter, she was slightly confused and approached it. Being a human-sized letter, when she picked it up, it was somewhat comical, making Ignatia, who was sitting nearby, chuckle slightly.
Flor glanced at her and asked with a pout. “What are you laughing at?”
“Your cuteness~.” Ignatia smiled teasingly, her antennae bobbing up and down in joy. Flor couldn’t help but blush slightly. Even though they’d been together for years already, she just couldn’t help but feel her heart speed up each time the Ant Queen teased her.
The letter she picked and opened carried a folded paper inside, and when Flor unfolded it, both women read it. Their expression gained a touch of surprise when they finished it and looked at each other. “This... What do we do about it?”
Ignatia pondered and commented. “I think it is a great opportunity. You can probably make some deals for the Rose Fairies in general and in this city. Moreover, I am sure Verena will participate, so the three girls won’t get in trouble with her around.”
Flor looked at the letter again and frowned, sighing. “But... Going to a meeting like this with many other superpowers... What if they decide to hunt me?”
Her worries weren’t unfounded. After all, the source of this letter was unknown for now. Ignatia thought of that and added. “Well, we should ask Eila, Delia, and Taro to see if they’ve received something similar. What do you think? Making a decision before getting informed is indeed somewhat reckless. Still...” Ignatia picked up the envelope and turned it around. “This thing has a few symbols and letters here. They should mean something, right?”
“... I don’t know, Ignatia. How about we call Verdantia and the others?”
Ignatia nodded and kissed Flor’s head. “We should.”
They didn’t take long to arrive, and between them, Flor couldn’t help but realize that Tempestria had a slightly annoyed face. Before she spoke to them about the letter, she asked her. “Tempestria, if you were busy, you didn’t need to come. What is wrong?”
Tempestria blinked and realized that her mood was showing, so she shook her head. “No. It’s nothing like that, Flor.” Arms crossed, she tapped her arm with her finger and sighed. “It’s just... I’ve met someone in Sirol City who is a bit annoying...”
The others in the room were baffled. The door knocked again, and looking over, they saw Wert entering. The man looked at everyone in the room and raised his eyebrow. “What’s wrong with all of your faces? Were you having a girls’ talk or something?”
Rolling her eyes at his teasing tone, the Flower Fairy spoke. “Nothing like that. It’s that Tempestria is seemingly having problems in Sirol City.”
“Sirol City...” Wert looked at Tempestria and asked. “Haven’t Liu Shu’s roots completely enveloped that city already? You could ask for her help.”
“No!” Tempestria quickly reacted, her face showing a serious expression. This startled everyone in the room. The grey-haired Wind Sylvan scratched her head and sighed. “It’s just that I’ve met someone from a powerful family, and she... How to explain it... She has a similar vibe to Cinderielle and Verdantia?”
“... Similar vibe?” Wert blinked, confused. “What do you mean?”
Tempestria shook her head. “I don’t know. I am annoyed because that woman seems hell-bent in trying to know about me and Golden Sap City.” Looking at everyone, she pointed at Flor and spoke up. “Forget about that! Flor, don’t you have something to say to us?”
Flor blinked twice, her face full of curiosity. “I had something to tell you... But your story seems so interesting.” Tempestria’s lips twitched when she faced Flor’s blinking eyes.
“Later. If you’ve called us, your matter should be important.”
“Sure, sure.” Flor sighed and picked up the envelope of the letter. “Do any of you know something about this... Well.” Looking at Verdantia’s and Wert’s wide-eyed expressions, Flor smiled wryly. “It seems you do.”
She took a scroll and flew back to her desk, spreading it on the table. A map unravelled in front of them that showed the top right corner of the continent. Cinderielle blinked twice. “Since when did you have this?”
“Hm?” Flor looked over, surprised. “You didn’t know?”
They all deadpanned, looking at the Flower Fairy with an expression that made Flor feel a bit of embarrassment. “Ahem. I got it a few months ago from a merchant... I thought I informed all of you about it...”
Wert looked at the map, and while it was not too detailed, it showed the overall structure with a lot of accuracy. He couldn’t help but be impressed. “This map is quite good. It also shows the nearby six provinces with a lot of detail... Who was this merchant?”
Flor shrugged. “He was in the middle of the street, selling maps. This one was very expensive, around 30 <Bren>.”
“30...” Verdantia looked at Flor with a baffled expression. “Did you get scammed? That’s... 7,500,000 <Lir>.”
Flor smiled. “Perhaps I did. But this map is really good, isn’t it? I think we can squeeze more than that value from it. Moreover, 30 <Bren> is a little less than what we make in a day with our current earning rates.”
Wert’s eyebrow twitched. “The earnings of an entire day from a City for a single map... Did you buy anything else like that?”
Flor shook her head. “No. I don’t usually use the money I earn and throw everything in the vault. Speaking of which, How much space do we have left?”
Tempestria answered. “A lot, don’t worry. Liu Shu has roots constantly working on synthesizing the <Lir> to <Tyn>, and the <Tyn> to <Bren>, and even the <Bren> to <Syl>. The space they occupy is never larger than a large coffer.”
Clack!
Everyone looked and saw that Ignatia had tapped her nail on the table to gather their attention. “You are all digressing from quite an important matter that we have at hand. Can we refocus on what we should do?”
Verdantia answered. “We do nothing. Let me make a trip toward my Mom’s house and ask her about it.”
Cinderielle blinked and remembered something. “Speaking of that, won’t the competition to become the heir to your house start soon? How are you preparing?”
Hearing Cinderielle’s words, they all remembered that something like that had been brewing in the back. Flor smiled. “If it is not private, we can go with you to cheer you on. Our strength is non-negligible. Moreover, we can soar there with one of Liu Shu’s serpents! They’ve become stupidly strong after her last Level Up.”
Verdantia smiled faintly. “I’ll appreciate it. Other heirs will also be accompanied by powers they’ve managed to get allied with, so it will certainly ask you to come with me.”
Tempestria leaned on the wall and smiled, looking at Verdantia. “You should ask Eila Neoflora as well. After all, they’ll become part of Liu Shu soon.”
Verdantia laughed. “I should invite her, yes. I’ve heard that Miss Eila has been on a Leveling Up spree recently since she is no longer intending to continue being affiliated.”
Flor asked, confused. “Why was she not leveling up in the first place?”
Verdantia shrugged. “Who knows? Orders from above or something? You should ask her yourself if you really want to know.”
“... I’ll think about it.”
