Chapter 135: Chapter 135 : Awakening of the Extra who shouldn’t exist Ethan’s eyes were still locked on Alex, his heart pounding with adrenaline and fury. Then, a voice slithered through his consciousness—darker and colder than before. "[Is that the guy who manipulated your sister? And forced himself on her?]" Ethan’s expression darkened like a thundercloud. ’Yes... it’s him.’ "[Want me to get rid of him for you?]" Tiamat asked, his voice like a whisper riding on the winds of a storm. Taking a pause ethan said. ’No need to go that far. Just give him a trauma so deep... he’ll never even think of going near her again.’ Tiamat clicked his tongue—an audible sound in Ethan’s mind. "[My heir... you’re too soft-hearted.]" ’Regardless... he’s my friend. And I’m a Hero.’ Just as Tiamat turned his divine gaze toward Alex with disdain, something changed. His vision—shared through Ethan’s eyes—caught movement behind the silver-haired boy. Figures—no, silhouettes—began forming. Multiple. Each cloaked in an essence that bent the very rules of existence. "[My heir...]" Tiamat’s voice faltered. "[Are you... seeing the figures forming behind him?]" Ethan stared at Alex, who now looked back at him with a strange intensity, as if analyzing his every breath. "I see nothing behind him." Then suddenly—one of the figures, ethereal and undefined, moved. A hand formed of energy—an energy so alien, so far beyond comprehension—that even Tiamat, Dragon God of multiple realms, could not identify it. The hand lashed out. Straight toward Ethan’s consciousness. --- [The Realm of the Dragon God Tiamat] Far beyond the mortal plane lay Dracorynth, the Realm of Dragons—a place of otherworldly majesty. Towering mountains rose like fangs into the skies. Volcanoes erupted golden fire instead of lava. Vast crystal forests shimmered in kaleidoscopic light. Treasures of unimaginable power lay scattered across its lands like forgotten pebbles. Power crackled in the air. Dragons soared freely across this paradise—beings of legend, their every movement laced with divine might. At the heart of this world stood a colossal obsidian palace etched with runes older than time. Inside, within a hall larger than mortal cities, sat Tiamat—the Dragon God. On his throne of molten crystal, he observed everything through Ethan’s mind and consciousness. But then... he froze. From Ethan’s vision, he saw the figures behind Alex take shape. Tiamat narrowed his eyes, staring into Alex’s glacial blue gaze—so deep they resembled galaxies collapsing inward. Then realization hit him like a celestial hammer. ’Impossible...’ Before he could dig deeper—before he could act— A hand formed from an energy even he could not identify. It shot through reality itself and grabbed his throat. His eyes widened in disbelief. A horrifying voice echoed right into his draconic ears, filled with scorn. "How dare you look at him with those disdainful eyes... You, who begged at his feet like a worthless lizard for help—when you were nothing. Did you forget how you begged him to slay the former Dragon God?" Tiamat’s thoughts blurred. ’No... it can’t be—who—?’ But his mind found no answers. No memory. Just the fog of a figure and dread. A name struggled to surface... but nothing came. He managed to stammer aloud, his voice trembling. "You... You’re sealed! At the boundary of the cosmos! How can you be here!?" The grip on his throat tightened. Tiamat tried to morph into his true form—his divine, draconic self—but nothing worked. Even his divinity flickered and failed. He could still see Alex through Ethan’s eyes... and the figures behind him, growing clearer, growing real. In the throne room, his body remained unmoved—still, calm. To the dragons kneeling before him, he appeared contemplative. But inside, their god was dying. Suddenly, light filled the throne room. A divine flame danced into form, taking shape as an ethereal woman stepped forth, her beauty rivaling creation itself. It was Solara, the Phoenix Goddess. Her hair flowed like strands of sunfire, skin aglow with soft radiance, her eyes holding the sorrow of eternity and the wisdom of countless lifetimes. Wings of incandescent flame folded behind her gracefully. Her presence alone made the divine tremble. She screamed. "Tiamat! Disconnect your link with Ethan immediately or you will die!" The voice thundered through his soul like judgment itself. Without hesitation, Tiamat severed the bond. The hand vanished. But a whisper remained—crawling through the void, coiling around his heart. "Do that again... and even she won’t be able to save you." Tiamat exhaled hard, again and again, trying to steady himself. He looked at Solara, his voice strained and trembling with confusion and rage. "Solara... what the hell just happened?" She stood beside him, her radiant expression grim. "You idiot. When you first laid eyes on him, didn’t you notice the essence around him? The very one we wondered why Ethan lacked?" Tiamat’s eyes widened. "I sensed nothing. But now I know—that guy in front of him is not ordinary." Solara shook her head, then laughed lightly, though her voice was still shaken. "Look at you... one of the most powerful gods in existence, reduced to this mess." Tiamat growled, his rage flaring. "If you were in my place, you’d have croaked! I’ve never felt such fear... not since the massacre of the Old Gods." Solara nodded slowly. "That was not normal. And honestly... I looked at that silver-haired boy too. There’s something about him. A familiarity. Like... we’ve met before, but I can’t remember when or where." Tiamat muttered darkly. "We need to speak with Aurora. Immediately." He paused. "I sensed something that shouldn’t exist—her. That woman... Zara. Right, Zara?" But then he froze. "That’s the strange part. I remember the name... but nothing else. No face. No form. Nothing. And yet, I know... she’s connected to that boy. Somehow—when she should be sealed." He stood tall, his voice booming with fury. "That child is dangerous. If I have to, I will descend into that world myself. I’ll destroy it if I must—to kill that boy." At the name Zara, Solara suddenly tensed. An unexplainable dread spread through her immortal soul—a god... trembling from a name. She should’ve agreed. Destroying the world was the logical response. And yet, as Tiamat spoke of harming Alex... Rage—pure, blistering rage—filled her heart. Even she was wondering why she felt like this. Without a word, she turned and vanished, her flames flickering into nothingness. Tiamat stood, stunned. "Solara? Where have you gone? We have to solve this—!" No answer. His fury boiled over. Taking his true form—a colossal dragon with scales that shimmered like burning stars—he let out a roar that shattered the sky. Planets cracked and exploded across his domain. The lesser gods around his realm shivered. --- Meanwhile, Alex—completely unaware that because of him a god had nearly died just moments ago—was walking toward the Warp Gate of the Phoenix Spire. The hum of spatial energy from the gate shimmered around him, but his mind was elsewhere. ’System... you’re absolutely sure my legs weren’t trembling when I accepted Ethan’s challenge, right?’ A scoff echoed in his head. "[Yes, Host. I’m sure. It’s a good thing you controlled your mouth, or he would’ve flattened you right then and there.]" ’This is serious! My title and my beautiful face are on the line. Looks like it’s time to go all out.’ "[You’ve got two days. Let’s make it count. Let’s start with the Awakening.]" Alex’s eyes hardened. ’Yeah... let’s go.’ He stepped into the warp gate. In a flash of golden light, Alex arrived at the Phoenix Spire—a towering structure. The sun reflected off its spires like molten diamonds. He rode the elevator in silence, ascending swiftly to the 10th floor. Inside his private luxury apartment, he stepped toward the reinforced door of his training room. The marble beneath his feet resonated with ambient mana, pulsing gently with his presence. "Zara," Alex said aloud. {Yes, Alex.} came the smooth voice of his AI assistant. "Lock all doors and windows. Activate every barrier and concealment field around the training room. Even if an explosion occurs—I don’t want a single soul knowing." {Right away.} The lights in the apartment dimmed as heavy locks sealed, shielding plates shifted into place, and several invisible wards activated with a faint hum. Alex stepped into the sealed training chamber. The walls shimmered with multi-layered runes. He closed his eyes, inhaling deeply. "Let’s do this." ’System... you’re with me, right?’ "[Of course, Host. I’m always with you. Because if you cease to exist... so will I.]" Alex smiled faintly. ’That’s the nicest thing you’ve said to me.’ "[So did you, Host.]" He chuckled lightly. Then, his expression turned solemn. "Zara." {Yes, Alex?} "If anything happens to me... contact Seraphina. Tell her to take care of Lily. I saved her family once. She’s the only one I can trust with this." {...Understood.} "Also... contact Jack Klassen. Transfer all my funds, assets, and shares to Lily Dragonheart. Everything." {I will.} "And Zara—make sure you don’t watch what happens inside this room. Understood?" {Okay.} Alex turned to leave it there... but paused. "Don’t worry, Zara. The chances of something going wrong are slim." There was a moment of silence. {Alex.} He blinked. "Yeah?" {Please... be safe.} Alex’s heart melted a little at that. "You’re the best, Zara." {I know that.} With a smile, Alex reached into his storage ring and pulled out a crystalline vial. Inside shimmered the Awakening Nectar—a crimson liquid, glowing as if infused with the essence of stars. He stripped off his shirt and pants, standing only in his undergarments. The chill in the air met the heat of his skin. He stared at the vial. ’This is it.’ Uncorking it, he hesitated only a moment before tipping it back—gulping the entire contents in one go. The sweet, metallic taste burned down his throat. Seconds passed. Then minutes. Nothing. ’System... nothing’s happening. Was it a fake—?’ But there was no response. Then— Agony. It hit like being tossed into a living volcano. Alex collapsed to his knees, screaming as the pain tore through him. His skin bubbled, veins glowed with alien light, and his bones cracked under invisible pressure. Gasping, he grabbed the shirt he’d thrown aside earlier, shoving it into his mouth to avoid biting through his tongue. His eyes rolled back. His vision blurred. Then— [Awakening of the Throneless One has begun.] [Cosmic Essence has been awakened.] [Success.] The heavens stirred. Far above the planet, a ripple passed through the very cosmos. Stars blinked unnaturally. Planets quivered. A stream of celestial energy—pure and vast—descended from the cosmos, threading through galaxies before crashing into Etheron. The divine thread pierced the skies, unseen by most—but not by the sensitive. It surged through Zenith Academy, through the Phoenix Spire, and into Alex’s collapsing form. [Attempting to break the first curse on the bloodline...] [Failed. Trying again.] [Failed.] [Replacing mana with Cosmic Essence...] [Success.] The pain returned, sharper, crueler. His nerves were scorched, healed, and reforged again. Bones shattered, regrew, shattered once more. Muscles ripped apart and reknit with impossible density. [Retrying...] [Attempting to break the first curse on the bloodline...] [Success.] [The Bloodline of Stellar Genesis has now partially awakened.] Across the world, day turned to night in an instant. The sky pulsed. A low hum filled the air. And then—they saw it. A colossal hand of nebula reached across the sky. It was followed by a torso of galaxies, a heart made of supernovas, and a head shaped from the spiral of a million stars. Eyes of pure starlight gazed down upon the world. The night sky had transformed into a titan of light—a living constellation that loomed over creation itself. People everywhere gasped. Zenith Academy trembled as tremors ran through its very foundation. Instructors, deans, even ancient beasts hiding within Etheron stirred in horror and awe. Within the training room, Alex lay twitching, his body convulsing in pain. [Attempting to break the first curse on the Physique...] [Failed.] [Failed.] [Failed...] [Using Cosmic Essence to create Life Energy...] [Success.] [Reinforcing host body...] [Success.] [Attempting to break the first curse on Physique...] [First Curse on Physique: Broken.] [You have partially awakened the Physique: Primordial Genesis of Creation and Destruction.] [You are no longer bound by weakness. Your body will become what it must—the ruler of all limitations.] [Incoming Death in 10 seconds has been foreseen.] [Adaptation through Death has initiated...] Alex’s body twitched violently as his bones began to shift—not heal, but evolve. He felt ribs reshaping, his spine reforming, his heart restructuring to beat in new rhythms suited for an existence beyond mortality. [Adaptation through Death... Successful.] Silence. The room went still. Smoke drifted from Alex’s mouth as he lay motionless. Then, his fingers twitched. His eyes fluttered open. His pupils glowed with galaxy-like light. He pushed himself upright slowly, breathing heavily. Then, he noticed it. Etched onto the back of his hand—a glowing symbol of a tree, ancient and majestic, its branches stretching like constellations across his skin. ’What... is this power...?’ His body hummed with potential. Not power gained through training—but destiny fulfilled. He stood there, alive but changed—awakened beyond what the world had ever known. The Throneless One had risen. And the cosmos would never be the same. ---------- A/N: So how was the Chapter? Tell me in the comments!
