[Damage Amplification: +35%]
[Damage Resistance: +25%]
Noah's heart raced, adrenaline surging through his veins. The system's rapid-fire notifications felt like electricity dancing across his consciousness. 'Brothers in Arms,' he recognized.
'This is different,' he thought, a wild grin spreading across his face.
The red mist parted, revealing Nyx in all his terrifying glory. No longer the small companion that had followed him, he now rivaled a military transport truck in size. Massive dark red wings unfurled, scales gleaming with a predatory intensity that spoke of pure, calculated destruction.
Lucas froze, his enhanced senses momentarily overwhelmed. His analytical mind raced, processing the impossible scene before him. 'A first-year doing this ? These abilities... they're approaching Alpha-class territory,'
*Raaarrgghhhhhhh!!!*
Nyx's roar shattered the island's silence. So deep that the single-horned Harbingers instinctively took a step back, primal survival instincts recognizing a predator far beyond their understanding.
Before Noah could open his mouth to give the words, Nyx had already begun to charge up. The red in its name spoke for itself as it began to glow like someone added fuel to a burning inferno.
The dragon launched itself like a precision-guided missile, targeting one of the single-horned Harbingers. Its flight path cut through the air with a sound between a whistle and a scream - looking at it, there was no doubt Nyx was like a weapon designed for maximum destruction.
Meanwhile, the two-horned Harbinger made its move. A massive grey-scaled fist erupted from the mist, heading straight for Lucas with brutality.
Lucas caught the punch. The impact reverberated through the ground, creating twin shockwaves that obliterated everything within a twenty-meter radius. Trees splintered like matchsticks. Rocks pulverized into fine dust. His feet drove deep into the earth, muscles straining against impossible force.
With calculated precision, he released the punch, using the Harbinger's own momentum against it. A clean hole ripped through the ground, decimating what remained of the field's landscape.
The Harbinger tracked him. Cold. Precise.
'Not yet,' Noah realized. The opening wasn't right.
He stepped back. Then forward. A feint. Testing the monster's reaction. Each movement deliberate. Watching the white lines. Waiting.
The tail came first. A blur of motion that would have split a tank in half.
Noah ran. Blade in hand. The white line flickered to the left. He ran that direction, footsteps light but purposeful. Crushed grass. Broken earth.
When the white line appeared closer, he shifted. 'Void Blink.'
He appeared to the right, blade already moving. Then he went for it. The Eclipse Blade slashed - a white arc of potential destruction. Before the Harbinger could fully react, Noah followed up the attack by palming his hand on its back.
'Entropy Touch.'
Blackness began to spread. Slow. Methodical. A creeping decay that would stop healing. The Harbinger's scales blackened where Noah's hand touched. Like ink bleeding into parchment.
The monster twisted. Fast. Brutal aiming to decapitate Noah's head with that terrible swing. But Noah recovered quick enough, adjusting his body to just receive a glancing blow.
[-5 HP]
"That much from a graze?" He muttered to himself. This further seared it in his mind that he couldn't take a good bit from this thing.
Still, he knew the only reason he was even getting grazed was because of Nyx's battle buff. Even in his evolved state as a void oracle he still wasn't a match for a one horn physically.
Noah felt it. His increased speed, reflexes and strength. +35% damage amplification wasn't just a number. It was survival made real.
Another white line. Another dodge.
The fight wound on. Minute by minute. A dance of near-misses and calculated strikes.
Entropy Touch continued its work. The Harbinger was wilting. Slowly. Surely.
The black tendrils of Entropy Touch spread. Slow. Methodical.
The Harbinger felt it. Not just saw. Felt the decay eating through its regenerative capabilities. Its movements changed instantly. No longer smooth. Jerky. Desperate.
'It knows,' Noah realized.
The monster's tail lashed out faster now. Erratic. Unpredictable. Each movement was survival. The blackening scales told a story of incremental death.
"I will not be defeated by a human!" The Harbinger's voice carried pain. Rage.
Its leg swept. Wider arc. More desperate. The white lines flickered differently now. Each movement was an attempt to survive the slow decay consuming its body.
Noah read those lines. Watched the decay. Calculated.
The Harbinger was dying. But dangerous.
Its attacks became more concentrated. More fatal. Knowing each moment brought it closer to complete breakdown.
'Not yet,' Noah thought. 'Not quite.' Until he saw the next attack.
The Harbinger's massive grey-scaled leg powered forward. A crushing blow designed to pulverize bone.
"You think you can defeat me, human?" Its voice rumbled like grinding stone.
Noah's eyes tracked the movement. 'Let's see,'
The white lines flickered. The leg's trajectory clear - a killing blow aimed at Noah's torso. Enough force to liquify internal organs.
But Noah read those lines like a language only he understood. He intentionally dropped his shoulder. Slight. Microscopic vulnerability. Pure bait.
The Harbinger's tail whipped simultaneously. A secondary attack. Backup. Pure killer instinct.
[Summon Notification: NYX - FIRST BLOOD CONFIRMED]
'Perfect,' Noah thought.
His increased speed was his ace. It changed the battlefield. It didn't just aid with movement but manipulation.
The moment the leg committed, the tail following, Noah's body became the weapon.
Not dodging but redirecting.
His right hand came up. Void energy crackling between his knuckles. Targeting the base of the Harbinger's neck - where skull met spine.
'This ends now.'
[Null strike - Activated]
His fist moved. Faster than perception. So precise it carved a perfect sphere of destruction where skull met spine.
*Boom!!*
A miniature explosion occurred.
Bone fragmented. Neural pathways obliterated. The massive body collapsed.
The red mist began to come in full force again. In the air, something moved at impossible speed, blistering past Noah and headed straight for Lucas's position. As it passed him, something dropped from the sky, landing with a thud.
Noah approached the object to see it was a green pulsing core. The one horned Harbinger that Nyx fought.
'Damn...' Noah thought watching Nyx fly past him.
