Zavren fell silent. Ariana opened her mouth to speak, but her heart jolted as his lips crashed into hers. Her eyes widened—she had not seen that coming. His hands slipped to her neck, pulling her in closer as his tongue slipped into hers.Ariana’s lips parted more as she allowed his tongue to enter her mouth. He sucked on her lips as her brain sparked; it was like her world was molded into his, as if they were the only ones present in this world. The way his lips pressed into hers made her body shiver sweetly.
She moved her hands slowly, grabbing his hair and pulling him in. Her small hands wrapped around his silky black hair as their kiss deepened. The kiss grew from soft to heated; Ariana kissed him hard. Her eyes were shut—it was like she was floating in the air. The soft sounds of their kiss echoed through the room, as if they were communicating through it.
The kiss continued, growing more intense. They finally pulled away, both gasping for air. Ariana could not believe how long they had kissed. Her breathing grew rapid as she tried her best to calm herself.
It was like she could not even believe how good this felt. She had always felt good kissing Zavren—very otherworldly—but this felt like his universe and her universe had simply merged into one.
She would not have stopped if she had not needed air.
She gasped softly as her eyes locked on his. Zavren’s lips curled into a smile as he stared at her, their gaze holding until Ariana’s face finally burned. She shifted her gaze, looking away.
"Let’s leave here," she spoke softly. She did not like this room; it reminded her of a slight sadness. Zavren saw it—he had seen it in her eyes. He nodded calmly, and they stepped out. They walked to another room, not their main room, knowing that little Vreni would be there.
The room was arranged perfectly, everything placed as if it had been prepared in advance. The only difference between this room and the main room was that the maid’s room had warmth, while this room did not. The main room was filled with memories; this room was not. Ariana was still contemplating whether she should inform the kingdom that the king had awakened, but she decided to wait. She would not be making decisions herself; she and Zavren would put their heads together.
And before Ariana could say any more words, Zavren began to strip. Her eyes widened, and she immediately turned her face to the side. For some unknown reason, her heart began to beat loudly. Yes, she had seen him countless times before, but it had been years, and it all felt new again.
Zavren chuckled as Ariana turned away, shutting her eyes. Her heart raced, and her face flushed. Zavren removed the last piece of cloth, then stared at her back for a while, a soft chuckle leaving his lips before he smirked and entered the bathroom to get ready.
Ariana immediately stepped out and walked down the stairs. She needed to prepare something for her husband. He had just woken up, and she wanted him to eat enough, even though she knew he was not the kind to eat much. She headed to the royal kitchen.
The royal cook, surprised to see the queen in the family kitchen, stood straight. They had already been preparing dinner, usually exquisite, but the queen’s presence and orders caught them off guard.
Ariana spoke quietly, "More chicken should be added, crabs, and red wine." They all nodded, bowing.
The royal cook was still in shock. Ariana had previously stopped wine from being shared, only allowing fruit juice at breakfast. Yet here she was, ordering wine. They dared not speak, bowing as they said, "As you wish, my queen."
Ariana left.
For some unknown reason, Ariana felt very nervous. Her husband was awake, and she still could not believe it. She wanted to make this day special for him.
She was even more surprised that her little Reni had called her husband’s name. She had tried countless times to get her little one to say it, and finally, she did. Ariana realized that placing Zavren’s painting in the room must have helped—her baby recognized her dad from the picture.
A maid bowed, and Ariana asked, curious, "Where is the Queen Mother?"
"She decided to take a nap after hearing that Princess Anavren had been found by you," the maid said quietly.
Ariana asked again, "Did you see anything else?"
The maid shook her head. "No, that was all we informed her about. She had been worried."
Ariana noted this. Even Leah did not know Zavren was awake. Though she wanted to live with him, she could not imagine his reaction once he saw his mother. She decided not to say anything yet. Everything was going well, and everyone was complete. She could not wait to announce the news—it made her even more excited.
She was also eager to show Zavren the letter from the Vampire King. She had refused to touch it since it was delivered, waiting for her husband to wake so they could read it together.
Though she had been very curious—since the Vampire King sent it twice—she held back. The first one was written especially for the king the second had also been sent to her. Yet she had not read either.
She promised herself she would open it with Zavren. Now, he was awake, and they would open it together. The red mark at the center confirmed it was personally from the Vampire King.
Leah understood that the queen would be busy with King tonight, so she stayed to watch over little Vreni.
As she dropped it there she moved to leave. Leah bowed respectfully. Ariana gave a calm nod and smile, then stepped out. She walked toward the room next to hers and Zavren’s.
To her surprise as she opened the door, Zavren was not wearing any kingly outfits. Instead, he wore only pants and was topless. His perfect muscles came into view, the eight-pack abs she had missed right before her eyes. She froze, her eyes widening, her face burning at the sight.
Softly, she spoke, "Zac, what are you doing? It’s time for dinner. We want you to eat—eat enough, since you’ve been sleeping for years."
Before she could finish, at almost inhuman speed, Zavren was already in front of her. A soft gasp left Ariana’s lips as her heart throbbed.
His hand gently held her neck, pulling her close before he lowered himself and pressed his soft teeth to her cheek. Then he said, "It’s hot. I already have a sweet dinner in front of me."
Before Ariana knew it, his lips were on her neck, sucking hard.
A moan escaped her lips as she could not think straight. Zavren held her waist, guiding her in place. He then raised her chin, his smoldering gaze piercing her with sinful intent.
"You don’t have to worry about dinner. I already have dinner here in front of me," he said, and before Ariana could think more—
"Shraaaa"—her gown stripped off.

Back at the Vampire Land, a loud, piercing scream echoed from the inner room. The Vampire Queen had screamed in both surprise and shock as she stared directly at the Royal Physician, who, in turn, smiled at her warmly, as her old age carried a trace of wisdom and understanding.
Outside the room, King Vrazen had been lingering worriedly, unsure whether he should enter as he was told to stay outside for some time.
The sudden scream had caught him completely off guard, and for a brief moment, he had contemplated leaving and then wait till she was done as she was simply having check up.
But those thoughts quickly vanished, replaced by an overwhelming sense of urgency and curiosity. Without another second’s hesitation, he pushed open the heavy doors and stepped into the room.
The scene that greeted him left him frozen in place for a heartbeat. His wife, the Vampire Queen, laid there, her posture tense yet glowing with a strange light of anticipation.
Her eyes were wide and fixed on him, revealing a mixture of awe, vulnerability, and something more tender that he could not immediately place. King vrazen’s heart skipped a beat as he took in the expression on her face, sensing that whatever had caused her scream was not something to fear, but something that might take him by suprise as she had no trace of fear or pain in her.
In fact, he hadn’t expected this at all, for the screamed had terrified him to the core—he had never heard her scream like that before, and the sudden fear that gripped him was more than he could have anticipated.
Then, in a voice soft yet trembling with emotion, she spoke, the words catching slightly in her throat as though she were struggling to release them, "Vrazen... I’m pregnant."
