Chapter 44: Chapter 44: Sharing the Medical Supplies While the Chu family trained their spiritual energy, Ye Xuan and his team trained their newly acquired superpowers. Li Kun and Gu Fan had just met up with them and they all stood in two lines with two members standing back to back. Ye Xuan was at the front, while the others killed the zombies that came attacking them from all sides. This arrangement made sure that no one’s back was exposed. Ye Xuan needed to train two types of superpowers, but since he was new to the experience, he decided to train his lightning ability first. He stretched out his hands and a lightning cage appeared in front of him with ten zombies enclosed within. He squeezed his hands and the cage reduced in size, becoming smaller and any zombie that was near its walls was burnt to a crisp. In less than half a minute, the ten zombies in the cage were all dead. He repeated the same action again. Forming lighting cages and using them to imprison and burn zombies. Li Kun’s space didn’t have any attack power so he was holding a military dagger and cutting the zombies left and right with it. Gu Fan had been practicing with his superpower for two days and his fireball was no longer the size of a marble. It was already the size of a baby’s fist. He was throwing fireballs at the zombies’ heads like they were free. Lei Ying used his water ability to create a short water sword. The sword made from water ability was sharp and unlike regular swords, it wouldn’t become blunt after using for a while. He was cutting zombie heads without pausing. However, he used up his energy quickly and needed to switch to a military dagger to give his superpower time to recover. The others were in the same situation. They didn’t have too much superpower stored as their abilities were still in the beginner stage. Nonetheless, as they killed zombies , exhausted their superpower and recovered, they found that they were becoming more proficient and their power was more refined. As soon as Ye Xuan realized this advantage to using superpower, he would alternate between using lightning to kill zombies, and once exhausted, he would switch to using his ice ability. He made ice spikes that pierced into the zombies’ heads and through their brains killing them instantly. He had also discovered that once he formed an ice spikes and used it to kill a zombie, it didn’t melt immediately and he could summon it back. Even though the summoned ice spikes didn’t have as much energy as the one sent out, it still proved economical because he could recover some of the energy used, thus killing more zombies. What’s more, it saved energy and took longer to exhaust his ice energy. This advantage may seem negligent when used on these low-level zombies, but it would be used against stronger enemies as the one with more energy would have the advantage. The two teams used two hours to clear the zombies on the ground floor and met in the lobby. They cleared the nurse station and decided to rest inside and recover their abilities before they continued with their fight. Even though they had killed at least two thousand zombies, there were still thousands remaining in the hospital. They rested for an hour before going out again to clear the zombies. It was already 6.00 o’clock in the evening when all the zombies were killed. After clearing the zombies, the two teams met in the nurse station again to talk about the supplies in the hospital. They didn’t want to have conflicts because of supplies so they decided to talk about it and decide what everyone gets. "Since you came here, apart from training you must have wanted to get medical supplies, what do you want?" Grandpa Chu asked Ye Xuan. The Chu family already had a lot of medical supplies and was mostly interested in the medical equipment and technology. But since they didn’t know what Ye Xuan’s team needed, he decided to ask. "We can take half of the medicine and you take the other half if that’s okay with you grandpa Chu." When he heard the suggestion, grandpa Chu decided to take it so as not to make the young men uncomfortable. If he said they only needed the medical equipment, no one would believe them because in a situation where the apocalypse had started, everyone knew that there would be no use for medical equipment. So, to avoid making them uncomfortable and probably straining their relationship, he decided to accept. "Okay then. Let’s go take a look and see what medicine is available in the pharmacy." After the agreement, they all headed to the pharmacy and broke the door. There were cabinets with different types of medicine inside including antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, cough syrups, fever-reducing medicine, insulin, and medication for chronic diseases. There were also medicine used to treat injuries such as wound salves, medicated bandages, burn creams, pain patches, and many other varieties of medicine for both external and internal injuries. There were also two large freezers in the pharmacy used to store cancer medicine, cardiovascular disease medication, and others that need refrigeration to stay safe and usable. Ye Xuan didn’t have the means to keep the medicine in the freezer fresh, so he decided not to take any as it would only spoil. He had his men divide the other types of medicine into two and had Li Kun put them away in his space. Seeing them being so honest and unguarded, grandpa Chu decided to remind them to be careful. "It’s best if you don’t expose your space ability to others. It may not be a big deal now, but once the supplies become limited, people will turn to all kinds of despicable methods to survive and kidnapping space users to use them as mobile warehouses or killing them to take what they have stored would become normal. So, be careful." When the brothers heard his advice, they had an even better impression of the general. At a time like this, a greedy person would have tried to recruit Li Kun, and considering his identity as a retired general, it would be easy to achieve, but instead he cautioned them to be careful.
