Chapter 47: Is this Gu Anxi’s painting?

Qin Siling had two agendas: to elevate Shen Wanqing and to suppress Wang Keru. She casually said, "I heard that Anxi isn’t living at home anymore. It seems like a waste to leave her room empty. Why not let Wanqing move in?" Wang Keru was quite furious. Kicking Gu Anxi out was like slapping her in the face. She turned and looked at Qin Han. Qin Han didn’t like Gu Anxi much either. That child was too manipulative for his taste. Qin Han, a businessman, was very shrewd and worldly, believing that women who clearly desired something were easier to control. Qin Siling, Wang Keru, and Shen Wanqing were all women whose ambitions were apparent. To Qin Han, however, keeping Gu Anxi around was like inviting a wolf into the house. Therefore, he didn’t voice his opinion, merely looking at his son to let him make the decision. Wang Keru’s heart sank. Qin Siyuan knew his father’s intentions. He was about to speak when Shen Wanqing gracefully interjected, "Thank you for your kindness, Si Lan. The place I’m staying at is quite good; plus, Siyuan always gives me a ride back when I visit. It’s quite convenient." Her words were thoughtful and considerate. At the very least, they warmed Qin Siyuan’s heart. Subconsciously, he didn’t want anyone to take over Gu Anxi’s room. After Gu Anxi had returned, she had spent many nights in the room opposite his. Even though she no longer stayed there, he still had a habit of visiting her room. Dominated by pastel pink, the approximately 60-square-meter room featured a large bed adorned with a circular canopy. White, floor-length sheer curtains by the window fluttered lightly in the breeze... It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say it was fit for a princess. The apartment Qin Siyuan rented for himself looked shabby and considerably poorer in comparison. Shen Wanqing clenched her fists, reminding herself not to care. Shen Wanqing agreed. She walked to the door, passed him, and left the room. After dinner, when she went upstairs again, the dozen or so manuscripts were gone.
