Bo Xichen returned to the lab, where Gu Anxi was tidying up the medical supplies.
He approached her. "Let’s get back to the experiment!"
"Professor Bo!" she protested.
Bo Xichen adjusted his mask, a faint smile lighting up his icy gaze. "Today, I’ll be teaching you..."
Gu Anxi refused; she feared that the most.
But today, Professor Bo was quite insistent, standing behind her, personally guiding her hands with a soft chuckle. "Don’t worry, I’m right here."
Gu Anxi stared at the open abdominal cavity and the frighteningly lifelike organs before her, shutting her eyes. "Bo Xichen, you’re so mean!"
"You’re meaner than I am," his voice whispered close to her ear. Distracted, Gu Anxi accidentally shredded one of the organs.
Bo Xichen chuckled lightly. "Such a ferocious little lady!"
Gu Anxi was even more speechless as he leaned in closer. "Being in a bad mood isn’t an excuse for this, is it?"
Gu Anxi gritted her teeth. "I’m not in a bad mood."
His eyes landed on the shredded organ, and he laughed lightly. "A failure! Clean this up!"
Gu Anxi was speechless.
Bo Xichen stepped out, picked up his phone, and sent a message: "How’s Unbounded now?"
Fengxi’s voice came through, exuding cheerfulness: "Unbounded seems to be in an even worse mood!"
Bo Xichen smiled, his slender fingers tapping out a command: "From now on, Unbounded’s messages are only to be relayed to me. Block everyone else."
Today, Fengxi was particularly cheerful. "What about that grumpy Lawyer Feng?"
"Blocked." Bo Xichen entered the command and shut down Fengxi. He then looked over at the lab.
Inside, Gu Anxi was disgustedly picking through the materials, looking like she could bristle and lash out at any moment.
Bo Xichen clasped his hands in front of him, smiling silently. She really is both ferocious and cute!
Feng Mian came over with a cup of coffee. "What are you looking at, Young Master Bo?" He peeked over and—oh! So he was looking at his little one!
Bo Xichen turned his head and gave a small smile. "Don’t you find her quite interesting?"
Feng Mian grinned. "You’ll find her even more interesting once you’re married!"
Feng Mian, you’re picking up bad habits from Old He...
In the evening, the research building of Yunxi Hospital received unexpected guests: Wang Keru and Qin Han.
After much consideration, Qin Han had decided it was best to visit in person; it would seem more sincere. Young girls are always easy to coax, anyway, he thought.
In the back of Qin Han’s mind was another idea. He knew Qin Siyuan had feelings for Gu Anxi. If this young woman, Anxi, was indeed very promising and also had feelings for Qin Siyuan, then he, as an elder, wouldn’t object if their affection was mutual.
As for Wanqing, she can be compensated! Wanqing and Qin Siyuan have essentially lived as husband and wife. If they break up, her reputation will suffer. Giving her an apartment should be fine, he mused.
Qin Han had thought it all through before he arrived; it was, one might say, a plan perfectly tailored to his own wishes. He hadn’t discussed this matter with Qin Siyuan. How could he not understand his own son’s heart?
When they arrived at the research building, Feng Mian received them. After Qin Han explained their purpose, Feng Mian went to the lab to call Gu Anxi, who had just finished tidying up and was washing her hands.
Seeing Wang Keru and Qin Han, she paused for a moment, her gaze lingering on Wang Keru for a short while. Then, she retrieved two bottles of water and placed them on the coffee table. "Is there something you need?"
Just as Wang Keru was about to speak, Qin Han interjected, "Anxi, yesterday your mother, Qin Siyuan, and I went to celebrate your birthday, but unfortunately, we were a step too late, and you had already left. Today, we thought we should at least make up for your missed birthday celebration. Your grandpa has repeatedly insisted that you must come home for a meal. He’s even ordered an eight-layer cake for you."
