Where's Xavier? Huh?' i quickly looked around and surveyed the area, but i couldn't find the sight of the blonde boy with narrow eyes. He didn't seem like he would have been of much help before, judging from how severe his shoulder injury had seemed back then. It was a bit depressing, but i suppose that was fine. It's better for him to stay out of it, rather than join in the frey and only become a burden for everyone else. —though that said, aren't we all burdens when compared to Ceres? I growled to myself and gripped my bow tightly, before dismissing it and stopped moving. I turned and openly stared at the unravelling battle happening before me. Deandra continued to rain down fire from above and all over, covering the colossus figure of the Sand Worm in a boundary of explosions and billowing smoke. Flashes of light and forces of impact tore shockwaves and loud sounds of collision through the air and veil of clouds as Ceres' blade continued to clash against the Dragon's tough scales. Each time it did, a piercing sound on and flash tore through the air. While Xavier... Was still nowhere to be seen. —Probably was still in hiding and overlooking the whole thing from somewhere. I couldn't linger any longer, i had to end it. Somehow, or someway. My mind became colder and darker as the battle that seemed to shake the world continued and my senses heightened. 'Come on...' My thoughts raced rapidly and my eyes darted all around the place. Then eventually... "Haa..." I sighed as my shoulders rose and fell, slumping downwards. A not so sudden realisation came to me and my expression tightened with a dark and strained smile. 'Haha. This is crazy...' I'm crazy. Why was i thinking so hard when the answer was so obvious, and right In front of me... I mused darkly as my heart began to race inside my chest. I had to find an opening. Amidst the hail of fire and flurry of blades around the Sand Worm, i had to somehow get in close enough. First of all. [You're smiling in stupidly again... What other profane and senseless plan or idea have you cooked up again?] Meta's synthetic voice seemingly sneered in my head. It was dry and deadpan, although she said that i couldn't help but feel the system already had an inkling to what must have been going on in my head. I could almost imagine her roll her eyes, if she had one. At Meta's comment, i laughed inwardly. 'What are you talking about? What crazy plan? [What are you planning to do?] Wasn't that obvious? Hadn't Ceres already said it before? Back then i thought she had been crazy and sounded cool, but isn't insanity just the gates of geniuses! I laughed out loud and leaned forward while preparing to move at the next opening. What was it she said that time? Then i shrugged casually. "I'm just going to slay a dragon." Then i kicked off the ground and dashed forward. I had an idea i wanted to try out... I felt the rush of air and impacts race by me as i moved. Each step i took forward filled me and made my heart race. The ground trembled from the battle, and wisps of wind whipped at my face and hair. A bead of sweat trailed down the side of my face. I could almost hear the sound of my heart racing darkly the closer i got... Until i heard a voice. "Victor!!" No. It was a cry. —A warning. Before i could realise what was happening, Danger Sense suddenly reacted intensely. The next second i felt the air rumble from my side and i turned slightly. "Huh?" My eyes widened at the sight of the massive tail of the Sand Dragon sweeping through the air like a speeding moving mountain at me. "Fuck...!" There was nothing i could do within that moment. I was too deeply immersed in my thoughts and drunk on excitement that i got carried away and failed to notice my surroundings well in time. What had i expected when i was running right into the heart of a battle? Well, in any case, this happened. The massive body of the Desert king was too immense and too fast for me try to dodge in time, so instead, i gritted my teeth and swallowed down a volley of curses. 'This is... This one is going to hurt!' I braced myself for painful impact, planting my feet strongly against the ground and raising my arm. 'Aura...!' My Ether Coire stirred actively— 'Armament!!' A transient rush of powerful energy surged through my outstretched arms defensively, and the massive armoured body of the Sand Worm smashed into my measley figure. -BOOM!
