"You remember what happened with Barns earlier..."
Deandra's words brought some recollection from before.
Of course i did.
It was the moment when Barns was killed. And by Don no less.
At that time, Don had suffered immense mental and emotional shock that accelerated the corrosion of his mind by the mysterious skill influence.
It was enough so that Don passed out and was unconscious for a while ever since then, until now. It must have been a defensive measure of his mind and body. Find your next read at My Virtual Library Empire
"Don... he's in pain right now. So much anguish, maybe even more right now than we could imagine."
Then, even i and the rest of us who were only observers from the side felt immense emotional pressure and shock from watching Barns die unexpectedly in the gruesome way he did.
What Deandra was probably trying to imply was that, imagine that level of pain and anguish...
But multiplied by unknown folds.
I felt her grip on my clothes tighten.
Deandra raised her head to look up at me pleadingly.
"Please, Victor...save him."
I averted Deandra's gaze silently.
Class rep...
Even if you say that... What type of face am i supposed to make in a time like this.
It seemed i had underestimated Deandra's care and compassion for her teammates, or Don.
I schooled my expression expertly without revealing any of my thoughts and shifted on my feet. Deandra still held on to me for support.
I secretly pulled out a small, crude container from a 'hidden compartment' and nudged Deandra at me.
"Here."
"Wha— umpff!?" Before she could say anything, i shoved two of my fingers smeared with a blue paste like substance into her mouth and tongue immediately as she gasped.
Her face flushed, then turned blue Deandra gasped and gagged suddenly, feeling my fingers forcefully invade the inside of her mouth with a foreign substance.
Her pale face turned a shade bluer as Deandra spat out my wet fingers and coughed hysterically as if she wanted to throw up, holding her mouth.
I pretended like this wasn't happening, and maintained a casual expression as my lips parted to speak.
"What are you talking about, class rep? What's the weakest and bottom ranked cadet like me supposed to do alone against that idiot going out of control."
"1499...! V-Victor, wh-what have you just done to me?!"
I naturally ignored her and continued.
"I feel like I'm partly at fault for what happened earlier with Barns outside. So it's a little annoying, but i think I'll have to take some of the responsibility right now. The best i can do, though, is to give that idiot a good~ nice warm wake up punch to that pretty face."
Deandra smacked her lips with tears in the corner of her eyes, looking aghast and confused.
I don't think she was listening to me at all.
"Mint?" She mummured in a confused voice.
The pressure and force of the gales rose powerfully and the winds became sharper, slashing through our bodies and defences like blades against our skin.
I raised my hands defensively over my face, feeling the wind blades cut through me like butter.
"We can't get close enough like this!"
'Dammit!'
I had to admit it,
Bizzaro Don had insane combat sense.
Up until now, i never truly imagined Don was this powerful. As an Aerokinetic Supernatural, his potential was immense.
What could i say, he was ranked among the top 500 of the first years after all.
Especially without reason, it was hard to predict his actions and reactions, making overalls combat with bizzaro Don more challenging. Even if Deandra and i were to be in peak or mid condition.
It was especially even harder when we were trying not to kill him, and incapacitate him alive.
'But at this rate, we'll be the ones dead...!' i gritted my teeth as i continued to futilely block the wind and stirred a little of my Ether inside my core.
'Maybe if i used just a bit of my art...'
But before i could fully have that thought, i suddenly heard Deandra's strained voice from over the rampaging gales that whistled like blades.
"We'll have to pierce through!"
'Okay, but how?'
My silent question was answered.
The next moment, a strange, unfamiliar book appeared before Deandra in mid air.
'What is...'
The mysterious book, with a glowing halo and strange patterns fluttered open mysteriously with a supernatural force. The pages shifted swiftly on its own, and a bright red light suffused from the book and flowed from it into the surroundings.
Deandra placed her bloody left hand on the mysterious book hovering before her in mid air. The suffusing red light enshrouded around her like a halo and Deandra's eyes were suffused by a red piercing red glow that made her expression ferocious and intimidating.
Her red hair fluttered powerfully, beautifully.
Something prickled intensely at my senses as my skin tingled, every hair on my body almost standing on end.
'The Mana ...!'
Deandra's Mana.... It was suddenly three folds!
Three massive spears of fires appeared behind her back like great lances aimed at the heavens.
"Hmph!"
Deandra contorted her expression, the red glow in her eyes deepening and shinning more brightly. She raised her right hand, and one of the massive horizontal spears behind her moved over her shoulders and aimed forward rather than above.
Don's winds were wild and rampaging, but the flames of Deandra's spears weren't dispersed or interrupted. They seemed untouched by the carnage, blistering through with blast of heat into the surroundings.
And then,
"Pierce through."
Deandra swept her right arm forward and the massive spear of fire moved.
