As soon as class ended, Ji Nian was about to leave when someone stopped her.
It was a female classmate she didn’t recognize.
The girl seemed a bit shy but also secretly excited as she spoke: “Ji Nian, someone’s looking for you at the door.”
Ji Nian glanced toward the classroom entrance.
There stood Gu Xiuyuan, his uniform neatly pressed and his hair meticulously trimmed. When he noticed her looking, he gave her a nod.
Anyone who didn’t know better might have thought it was a leader conducting an inspection...
“Got it, thanks.”
Ji Nian nodded at the girl, bent down to retrieve something from her desk, and then walked over to Gu Xiuyuan.
She almost forgot.
The girl who had been thanked looked at her friend and whispered excitedly, “She said thank you to me!”
“Did you see it clearly? Are her eyes really green?”
“Yeah, even prettier than John’s blue eyes from the next class...”
“What were you talking about this morning?”
Gu Xiuyuan asked as soon as the second class ended, having come down on time to find Ji Nian.
Ji Nian pulled him toward the girls’ restroom.
Gu Xiuyuan’s eyes widened in shock. “Wait... I can’t go in there.”
But Ji Nian was only there to grab Shen Qingtang, who had gone to the restroom.
Quickly pulling Shen Qingtang away, Ji Nian held onto both of them and led them to a quieter spot.
“Here, new toys for you.”
She handed Gu Xiuyuan a guide to elementary school essays, making him hold it.
Then, Ji Nian pulled out two small bottles from her pocket.
They were about the size of an eraser, filled with a transparent liquid.
“What’s this? Looks like the eye drops my grandma uses after binge-watching dramas.”
Ji Nian snapped her fingers.
“Bingo! It’s for the eyes.”
Shen Qingtang caught on immediately. “A magical potion that changes eye color!”
There was an episode in *Doctor Strange* where the doctor created a potion that could change eye color, which had fascinated both Shen Qingtang and Gu Xiuyuan.
They had been dreaming about it ever since.
Ji Nian thought it was no big deal. She had made it over the weekend when she had some free time, just as a toy for the two kids.
“It’s real! Ji Nian really knows the Mystic Doctor!”
Ji Nian: Yes, because I *am* the Mystic Doctor.
“But it can only change your eyes to a shade similar to my green. It’s not like in the cartoons where you can change to any color or even transform, like the Sharingan or the Ghoul eyes.”
“Uh... well... it’s just...”
The girl who had been so excited earlier suddenly stammered when faced with Ji Nian. Her friend stepped in and explained, “Yang Xinyu from Class Five said a classmate has a drink that lets you see another world. Yang Xinyu said he saw Killua using Nen abilities!”
Ji Nian: ? Who’s Killua?
Kids tend to get carried away when they’re excited.
“I want to try it later. Maybe I’ll see Eijun!”
“Oh? Then I want to drink it too. I want to meet Hinata!”
Ji Nian didn’t understand a word of it.
“Can I come with you?”
**System:** [You’re from another world, and you’re still interested in other worlds?]
Ji Nian chuckled.
[I smell a conspiracy.]
Some magical drink that lets you see another world? Sounds like someone’s been eating mushrooms.
Hearing that Ji Nian wanted to join, the girls exchanged glances and then huddled together to whisper.
“Yang Xinyu said we have to keep it a secret. There’s only so much of the drink.”
“But it’s Ji Nian. Don’t you want to be friends with her?”
“She’s so pretty, like the BJD doll my sister has. I want to play with her.”
After some discussion, they reached a consensus. “Okay, you can come with us.”
“But you have to keep it a secret. Only we can know. Don’t tell anyone else.”
Ji Nian looked at the girls’ earnest and serious expressions and nodded in agreement.
**In her mind:** [A secret, huh... even more suspicious now.]
The girls hurried toward the most remote and long-abandoned activity room.
Standing outside the door was a boy with brown hair and dark skin.
Foreign-looking students weren’t uncommon at S Elementary, so no one paid him much attention.
Only Ji Nian noticed that he wasn’t wearing the name tag that indicated his grade and name.
Suspicious.
Then, when she caught a faint, familiar sweet scent wafting from inside the room, her heart skipped a beat.
009!?
Ji Nian quickly composed herself.
What had started as a casual observation now turned into a necessity to investigate.
A clue that had been missing for two years had suddenly reappeared. Ji Nian followed the girls inside.
But just as she was about to step through the doorway, the boy guarding the entrance reached out to stop her, speaking in broken Chinese:
“No green eyes. You go.”
Ji Nian: ?
