"Gulp, gulp, gulp..."
After drinking, he suddenly froze. Then, under Yue Xianling’s surprised gaze, his face turned blue-green!
"Su Chen, what’s wrong with you?"
Yue Xianling panicked and stood up to support Su Chen, whose expression was unusual.
"Senior Sister... Did you really brew this wine... Why is it so spicy!"
Su Chen stuck out his tongue desperately, fanning his hand by his mouth, "I can’t take it anymore, I’m going to choke to death!"
Su Chen turned around and ran towards the arch bridge, disappearing in a flash.
Yue Xianling stomped her foot in frustration, "How is that possible, I got this recipe with great difficulty from mom, and it actually failed!"
Su Chen sprinted against the wind for dozens of meters before the spiciness in his mouth subsided, but his eyes were almost tearing up. "Seems like not everything Senior Sister gives can be eaten."
Elder Ling stood quietly outside the Sword Casting Pavilion, and only when Su Chen ran to him in a fluster did a trace of calmness appear on his face. "You’re here."
"Grandmaster Ling, did you want to see me?"
Su Chen asked respectfully.
"Come in with me first."
Elder Ling turned and walked into the Sword Casting Pavilion with his hands behind his back. Su Chen watched his tall figure and then followed him inside.
The inside of the Sword Casting Pavilion seemed much colder than usual. Whether it was the thawing season, or due to the lack of recent forging, the place appeared to be swept clean, with the large furnace no longer burning, everything looking so unfamiliar and quiet.
Su Chen felt a bit uneasy, sensing that Elder Ling’s purpose in calling him this time wasn’t simple.
"Su Chen, I’m leaving Three Pure Ones Mountain."
Elder Ling leaned against the furnace and suddenly said.
Su Chen was shocked and asked, "Grandmaster Ling, why are you leaving?"
"I’ve thought it through these past days. The failure of the Supreme forging isn’t a reason for me to sink into despair. I must go down the mountain again to search for better quality Supreme Profound Iron."
Su Chen was both shaken and overjoyed, finally, Grandmaster Ling wasn’t sad anymore—this was precisely what he had been hoping for!
"That’s wonderful, Grandmaster Ling, you’ve finally figured it out!"
Elder Ling looked at his joyful expression and finally smiled faintly, "Su Chen, thank you for your concern all this time. If I find the Supreme Profound Iron this time, I shall make you its owner."
Su Chen nodded, his expression earnest, "Then I wish Grandmaster Ling a safe journey and that all your wishes come true!"
Elder Ling nodded slightly, but his expression turned solemn again, "Su Chen, before I leave, I hope you can help me deliver this letter to your master."
"A letter? What kind of letter?"
Su Chen asked, puzzled.
Elder Ling took a letter from his robe and handed it to Su Chen, his expression turning worried, "I don’t want to explain face to face, and perhaps he wouldn’t agree to me leaving Three Pure Ones Mountain at this time. But I must go, so I can only use this letter to explain everything. I hope he will understand after reading it. Deliver it for me, and I’ll reward you with a superior Spiritual Artifact."
A superior Spiritual Artifact? Su Chen was greatly surprised, though he tried to hide his delight on the surface. That was a treasure others could only dream of, and he could get it so easily?
Actually, what Su Chen didn’t know was that Elder Ling offering the Spiritual Artifact as a reward was just a pretext. Su Chen had studied forging under him for so long but had never asked for a weapon, showing his purity of heart. Elder Ling was not a stingy person and understood occasional generosity towards his disciples.
"But Grandmaster Ling, why not have Senior Sister Ling’Er deliver the letter for you?"
Su Chen suddenly said something that gave Elder Ling a headache. Thus, his reasoning for rewarding Su Chen seemed a little flimsy.
