Seris hesitated, her pride warring with her instincts. "What do you mean? Who needs protection from you? Let's—" she wanted to say something, but Lykos cut her off with a roar that shook the air.
"Leave now!" he bellowed, his voice a thunderous command. Before she could respond, he lunged forward, his massive form disappearing into the mist. The sound of claws meeting metal echoed through the battlefield, followed by the sharp crackle of energy as Lykos's green claws clashed against the red blade.
Seris stood frozen for a moment, her eyes straining to make sense of the chaos within the mist. The green glow of Lykos's claws and the red light of the enemy's blade illuminated the fog in brief, violent flashes.
She could see the shadowy outline of Lykos's massive form; his movements were like a blur of speed and power. But the enemy was relentless. The red blade flickered, its length shortening momentarily as it pierced through Lykos's defenses, drawing blood. Each strike was precise, calculated, and devastating.
The sound of the battle was deafening.... the clash of metal, the roar of Lykos, the hum of the red blade. Seris's heart pounded in her chest as she watched, torn between the urge to fight and the need to protect her people.
Lykos was holding his own, but it was clear the enemy was gaining the upper hand. The red laser shots that occasionally streaked through the mist only added to the danger, their deadly accuracy forcing Lykos to constantly evade.
"Paladin!" one of her soldiers shouted, snapping her out of her thoughts. "We need to move!"
She glanced back at her troops; their faces were pale but determined. They were ready to follow her lead, but she knew they stood no chance against whatever was in that mist. Lykos had bought them time, but it wouldn't last forever.
"Fall back!" Seris ordered, her voice cutting through the chaos. "Retreat to the Kaelzar outpost! Now!"
As her soldiers began to move, Seris cast one last look into the mist. The green and red lights continued to clash, the battle raging on. For a moment, she thought she saw Lykos's glowing eyes meet hers through the fog, a silent command to leave.
The sound of the battle grew fainter as they retreated, but the image of Lykos's bloodied form and the relentless red blade burned into her mind.
The battlefield was a chaotic symphony of clashing metal, roaring beasts, and the hum of energy weapons. Seris watched as her troops retreated while the black insectoid warriors held the line against the relentless Harvesters.
They were buying precious time, and for that, she was grateful. But her attention quickly shifted back to the real threat, the shadowy figure with the red blade.
Lykos, now fully engaged in combat, could finally see the enemy clearly. It was a humanoid figure, its body entirely composed of black cybernetics, with glowing red lights pulsating across its frame.
Its visor flickered ominously, and its movements were precise, mechanical, and utterly ruthless. The shadow's voice was cold and mechanical as it spoke, its words dripping with disdain.@@@@
"Enemy of the Kaelzars, you will be killed today. Your race is just a plague upon the galaxy!" the shadow declared while its red blade sliced through the air and severing one of Lykos's legs. Lykos roared while crashing to the ground as his balance faltered.

Lykos kneeled down, his massive form lowering to allow Seris to climb onto his back. She hesitated for only a moment before doing as he instructed, gripping his fur tightly as she settled into place. His voice was gruff, but there was an urgency in his tone that she couldn't ignore.
"Also, throw that thing you call a weapon; it's useless. Instead, use this," Lykos said before his claw sliced through the air as he severed one of his own talons. He poured a stream of biomass over it, the substance writhing and reshaping itself until it formed a short green sword with a black grip. He handed it to Seris, his glowing eyes locking onto hers.
"This is better than your so-called weapon," he growled.
Seris frowned while holding the green sword up and comparing it to her plasma blade. "Isn't this too small?" She asked, skepticism evident in her voice.
Lykos let out a derisive snort. "Hmph, you're so useless that you don't even know about living weapons?" He mocked her with his attention already shifting back to the shadow, which was preparing for their next clash.
"What do you mean, a living weapon? Hey!" Seris demanded an answer, but Lykos ignored her, his focus was now entirely on the shadow's movements. His muscles tensed, ready to spring into action.
"Tsk, just pour your energy into it and control it with the brain you probably don't have!" Lykos snapped, his patience wearing thin. Before Seris could retort, he charged forward, his massive form barreling toward the shadow with terrifying speed.
The clash was brutal. Lykos's claws met the shadow's red blades in a shower of sparks, the force of the impact sending shockwaves through the air. The shadow countered with a swift kick, deflecting one of Lykos's strikes and aiming a blade at his head.
But before the blow could land, a long black whip with a glowing green blade at its tip lashed out, slicing through the air and forcing the shadow to retreat.
The shadow leaped back, landing in a crouch several meters away. His visor flickered as he assessed the new threat. Seris stood on Lykos's back, the green sword in her hand now transformed into a whip-like weapon, its blade glowing with an otherworldly light.
"Not bad," Lykos muttered with a hint of approval in his voice. "Now, let's see what else you can do."
Seris smirked with her confidence growing as she felt the living weapon respond to her will. She poured her energy into it, and the whip extended further, its blade crackling with power. The shadow straightened, its twin red blades humming as it prepared for the next round.
"You're full of surprises," the shadow said with its mechanical voice being cold and calculating. "But it won't save you."
"We'll see about that," Seris shot back, her grip tightening on the living weapon. Lykos let out a low growl, his wings spreading wide as he prepared to charge again.
The battlefield was alive with tension, the air thick with the hum of energy weapons and the growls of the combatants. Seris and Lykos moved as one; their attacks synchronized as they pressed the shadow.
The living whip lashed out, its blade slicing through the air with deadly precision, while Lykos's claws struck with bone-crushing force.
