Only professionals or those in management could exchange for the Bloodletter. Ordinary Residents were not allowed to do so.
Li Ye was well aware in his heart that such a highly destructive weapon was classified. If it were freely distributed, it would easily lead to chaos.
As the mining ended, the Residents all heaved sighs of relief, putting away their Mining Pickaxes and quickly riding the lift platform back to the Deck Armor. Everyone's expression visibly looked much more relaxed.
Although Contribution Points earned from external work were plentiful, the danger was also high—almost second only to combat personnel.
Not long after, a new round of Intelligence was refreshed.
"Finally, it’s here."Li Ye nodded lightly.
He hoped that this time the Intelligence would provide some insight into the Eternal Night Zone—at least clarifying the situation of this Level 2 Zone.
This time, the System refreshed a total of 1 Ordinary, 1 Excellent, 1 Rare, and 2 Superior Intelligence entries.
【1. One hour ago, the Level 1 Mobile City “Jagged” was destroyed. This city survived for 2 days, 14 hours, 27 minutes, and 35 seconds in the Eternal Night Zone. (Intelligence Value: Ordinary)】
【2. As of now, there exists no Survivor Towns within the Eternal Night Zone. (Intelligence Value: Excellent)】
【3. Your current location is “Forest of Death” in the Eternal Night Zone. This area contains only one Safe Harbor. (Intelligence Value: Rare)】
【4. Despite a valiant battle, the Mobile City Alliance “Crescent” was ultimately annihilated. All three of its members were Level 2 Mobile Cities. (Intelligence Value: Superior)】
【5. Thirty-seven kilometers directly west, a Survivor Caravan is on the verge of collapse. Their fuel has been completely exhausted and the caravan has come to a halt. This caravan possesses one Level 2 Upgrade Blueprint. (Intelligence Value: Superior)】
As always, Li Ye analyzed the Intelligence as he read.
Starting with the first entry.
A Level 1 City was destroyed, surviving in the Eternal Night Zone for less than three days.
In fact, the venture of a Level 1 City entering a Level 2 Zone was risky, yet still relatively common across the Wastelands.
This was mainly because the materials yielded in Level 2 Zones were a whole magnitude higher than those in Level 1 Zones, and the drop rate for Level 1 Items and Level 1 Blueprints from Level 2 Creatures was higher—allowing Level 1 Cities to develop rapidly.
Therefore, even though the Apocalypse Sect had warned about the dangers of the Eternal Night Zone, many Mobile Cities still ventured forth.
If one were lucky enough to take down a weak creature and obtain a Level 2 finished product, that would be a major windfall.
"But then again, that Level 1 City didn’t even last three days in the Eternal Night Zone."Li Ye pondered."This Eternal Night Zone is evidently far too dangerous."
The second piece of Intelligence.
No Survivor Towns exist in the Eternal Night Zone.
This could imply that the survival pressure of this Level 2 Zone was immense, rendering it impossible for Survivors to persist via towns.
The third Intelligence entry was still somewhat useful.
So this was the Forest of Death in the Eternal Night Zone, and thankfully there was at least one Safe Harbor. Li Ye hoped to find this Safe Harbor soon to gather more Intelligence and acquire some resources.
The fourth entry.
The Level 2 City Alliance “Crescent” had perished for unknown reasons.
"Three Level 2 Mobile Cities, gone just like that?"Li Ye was shocked."What exactly happened?"
The fifth entry.
A desperate Caravan still possessed a Level 2 Upgrade Blueprint.
Upgrade Blueprints were extremely precious strategic resources.
Their function was to upgrade lower-tier Items to the next level.
For instance, if the Tomorrow had a rifle-type Level 2 Upgrade Blueprint, it could be input into the Production Workshop and assigned to the Peregrine Falcon Assault Rifle—then resources could be consumed to forge it into a Level 2 Firearm, enhancing its performance.
After upgrading to a Level 2 City, the original Level 1 Items were not entirely useless. The Upgrade Blueprint allowed them to continue to shine.
Li Ye immediately ordered Tang Fang to head directly west.
He couldn’t help but frown slightly.
Although this batch of Intelligence carried substantial information, what he truly wanted to understand was the specific conditions within the Eternal Night Zone.
What kind of Creatures were here, how many Predatory Cities were present, whether there were Wild BOSSes, the regional distribution patterns...
If the next round contained Epic-level Intelligence, he hoped it would be related to these topics.
Over an hour later, the Tomorrow encountered the stranded Caravan.
After seeing the Caravan clearly through the searchlight, Li Ye couldn’t help but exclaim.
"This Caravan is quite capable."
This Survivor Caravan possessed five Level 2 Off-road Vehicles and one Level 2 Cargo Truck. The Caravan members were equipped with Level 2 Bulletproof Vests and Level 2 Firearms, and they even appeared to have Level 2 Daggers.
Judging from their appearance, each of them seemed to be battle-hardened, having survived in the Eternal Night Zone for quite a few days.
Upon seeing a Mobile City approaching, the Survivors of the Caravan revealed expressions of mixed surprise and uncertainty.
Li Ye then sent Old Zhou to explain their intentions.
The leader of the Survivors proceeded to trade with Li Ye.
They handed over a Level 2 Upgrade Blueprint, and in exchange, the Tomorrow provided fuel, fresh water, food, and other resources.
Li Ye gladly agreed.
The Tomorrow had plenty of food, including Blueheart Potatoes, noodles made from Morning Wheat, a sufficient reserve of fresh water, and several hundred units of Level 1 Fuel.
Very soon, the various resources were piled into small mounds.
Li Ye didn’t feel the slightest regret.
After all, the sheer scale difference between the two was evident. As a Level 2 Mobile City, the Tomorrow could carry far more resources than a Caravan.
It was once estimated that the resources of a Mobile City could simultaneously sustain over a dozen Survivor Caravans.
Seeing the supplies in front of him, the Survivor leader immediately let out a deep breath.
With this, his Caravan could resume operations once more.
But Li Ye was even more delighted.
Because the type of this Level 2 Upgrade Blueprint turned out to be a Cannon!
This meant he could upgrade either the Molten Cannon or the Frost Cannon to Level 2!
"This time, we’ve really hit the jackpot!"he thought to himself.
Compared to this Blueprint, the supplies provided by the Tomorrow were nothing at all.
After the trade, both parties proceeded to exchange Intelligence.
From this, Li Ye learned that this Survivor Caravan originated from the Basin Region. They had been navigating the Eternal Night Zone for over a month.
"Although it’s very dangerous here, the resources are extremely good,"the leader said."But now we plan to return to the Basin Region and establish a town to live in."
"Since you’ve lived here for over a month, are you clear on what the situation is like here?"Li Ye asked.
The leader shook his hands repeatedly at this.
"Zombies, they’re everywhere! And there are Creatures infected by Zombies too!"
This Survivor Caravan had only lingered around the periphery of the Eternal Night Zone and had not chosen to venture deep.
But even so, the pressure they faced was immense.
The outer area was filled with Zombies.
Every few hours of travel would bring a Zombie Swarm.
On the rare occasion they found a resource point, it would be crawling with infected Level 2 Creatures.
Coupled with the perpetual darkness in this region that severely hindered visibility, the survival pressure on the Caravan was simply overwhelming.
From his words, Li Ye also learned a bit about the conditions in the Basin Region.
