On the lake surface, two Level 2 Cities began their clash.
The Level 2 Cannon of the Silence was the first to strike the Lone Sail.
Its Level 2 Cannon was especially unique—the shell resembled a burning phantom shadow, and upon impact, it created large swaths of rolling black mist.
The black mist spread as though it were alive, instantly corroding the deck structures of the Lone Sail.
The hull, City Armor, deck corridors, mid-level pillars... wherever the black mist passed, everything disintegrated into ash in utter silence.
If it had been a Level 1 City, it would have long since collapsed. But as a Level 2 City, the Lone Sail was massive; for it, this was merely component damage.
With a whistle from the Lone Sail, the previously scattered fleet rapidly regrouped, and the Aerospace Light Combat Drones in the sky also assembled.
The fire on the deck was quickly extinguished, the damaged armor plates were swiftly replaced by Mechanical Arms, and the combat personnel lined up on the deck, while the Gunners began calculating parameters to aim at the Silence.
This Level 2 Mobile City was entering combat mode at full speed.
In contrast, the Silence stood quietly in place.
It seemed to have not yet formed a defensive line with its fleet at the front.
As the Lone Sail issued an attack whistle, its troops immediately mobilized.
The fleet dispersed and charged toward the Silence at full speed, attempting to destroy its mobility.
Combat Drones roared through the air in a forward sweep, aiming to bombard the deck-mounted Cannons, Heavy Machine Guns, and especially the two Level 2 Cannons to eliminate its combat capabilities.
All Cannons on the Lone Sail fired, launching torpedoes at the Silence.
As a Level 2 City, it was equipped with two sets of multi-tube torpedo launch systems, capable of launching eight torpedoes in a short time.
Within moments, this Level 2 City committed all its firepower in one breath, attempting to bring down the Silence in a single strike.
At this moment, the Silence finally moved.
A pitch-black shadow descended from above, completely enveloping its form.
Shells, torpedoes, machine-gun sweeps, and bombs dropped by Unmanned Combat Drones—all their explosions and shockwaves were successfully blocked by this shadow barrier.
As the faces of all personnel aboard the Lone Sail changed drastically, the counterattack from the Silence began.
After absorbing the entire round of fire, the shadow that shielded its body dissipated.
Immediately after, it opened fire.
The Level 2 Autocannons on its deck unleashed a barrage, instantly blasting several Combat Drones into flaming debris that plummeted downward.
The dense shells swept across the fleet on the water, engulfing them in a sea of explosions.
As a surviving Speedboat was just about to open fire, it was suddenly dragged underwater and destroyed.
The remaining Speedboats were also dragged into the water one after another, each exploding in turn.
Within just a few minutes, the offensive of the Lone Sail was utterly crushed.
Under the stunned gazes of the crew aboard the Lone Sail, a giant beast slowly emerged from beneath the water.
It was unmistakably an octopus of island-like proportions.
Its thrashing tentacles were like towering spires, suction cups as large as wheels, and its pair of enormous spherical eyes glowed with a chilling light.
As it moved, currents swirled around its body in the lake, and dark tides surged like a descending storm.
This was the Wild BOSS tamed by the Silence— "Tranquil Lake Water Monster".
"How terrifying......." Upon witnessing this scene, the Lord of Zeus narrowed his eyes slightly.
He had originally thought the Lone Sail was already terrifying enough, but he hadn’t expected the Silence to be even more terrifying.
Shadow Cannon, Shadow Barrier, and the ability to command a Wild BOSS-level Level 2 item... the power displayed by the Silence was even more despair-inducing.
Fortunately, at this moment, the Zeus, along with its two companions at the rear, had already withdrawn from the battlefield.
Although the defeat this time was disgraceful and heavy, as long as the green hills remain, there will be no shortage of firewood.
Just then, waves of distortion rippled through the air not far away.
Under the surprised gaze of the Lord of Zeus, the Tomorrow slowly revealed its figure.
And the Cannons on its deck had already completed targeting.
"Now, who’s the prey, and who’s the hunter?"
Li Ye sneered coldly, then waved his hand.
"Fire!"
Four Molten Cannons fired simultaneously, and the Zeus was immediately blasted into burning, shattered wreckage.
Before the Vulcan and Apollo could react, two Frost Cannons struck them, freezing them along with the surrounding waters.
Under the bombardment of the Tomorrow, they too turned into blazing fireballs.
"Good!" Cheers erupted from everyone aboard the Tomorrow.
Li Ye focused his gaze on the distant battlefield, his expression filled with worry.
The Silence was likely about to take down the Lone Sail.
After consuming its population and resources, this Level 2 Predatory City would become even stronger.
But this was not something the Tomorrow could intervene in.
Escaping intact was already fortunate enough.
However...
The Silence clearly had no intention of letting go of the Tomorrow, this piece of fat meat.
While engaging the Lone Sail, it had split off part of its Cannons to continue bombarding the Tomorrow.
Under its orders, the Tranquil Lake Water Monster once again dove beneath the surface, rapidly charging toward the Tomorrow.
As the Tomorrow fired Smoke Shells while performing Mobile Evasion, a massive shadow emerged in the nearby waters.
With a roar, the Tranquil Lake Water Monster suddenly surfaced.
The giant beast roared and lashed several tentacles fiercely onto the deck of the Tomorrow!
The violent tremors knocked over Cannons, Heavy Machine Guns, and combat personnel on the deck.
At the critical moment, the Steam Bed Crossbow aboard the Tomorrow activated, launching a giant bolt that precisely struck the body of the Tranquil Lake Water Monster.
The giant beast let out a shrill scream, its body shuddering violently.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, everyone aboard the Tomorrow concentrated their firepower and opened fire.
The dense net of firepower forced the Tranquil Lake Water Monster to abandon its entanglement with the Tomorrow and dive back into the water.
Before anyone could catch their breath, another round of Cannon fire from the Silence came roaring in.
The Tomorrow once again performed Mobile Evasion, with Shells exploding continuously around it and columns of steam and smoke rising one after another.
Amidst the raging wind, Li Ye gripped the railing tightly, glaring coldly at the distant Silence.
"Ning Wen, fire a round of Smoke Shells in the direction of the Silence!"
"All combat personnel, return to position and ready up! Load all weapons and ammunition!"
"Tang Fang, prepare to accelerate!"
As he spoke, he clenched his fist.
"Since you don’t want to let us go, we’ll fight you for our lives!"
......
In the Cannon exchange, the Lone Sail was clearly at a disadvantage.
It had only one Level 2 Cannon, and it was merely functional. In contrast, the opponent had two Level 2 Cannons, far more powerful.
Moreover, multiple bombardments from the Lone Sail had all been blocked by the opponent’s black Shadow Barrier.
Currently, many parts of the Lone Sail had been corroded by black mist and were gradually being destroyed.
What pushed the Lord of the Lone Sail to despair even more was that the two Level 2 Cannons of the Silence had been reloaded and were about to fire.
At this critical moment, a figure suddenly emerged from the smoke.
It was the rapidly approaching Tomorrow.
In the next second, it opened fire.
The Silence activated its Shadow Barrier for defense.
It quickly realized something was wrong—because the Tomorrow had not fired damaging Shells, but rather Smoke Shells.
The Smoke Shells blocked by the Shadow Barrier exploded one after another, and thick smoke swept over the Silence, obscuring its line of sight.
The sudden twist threw everyone aboard the Silence into intense anger and shock.
Meanwhile, the once hopeless heart of the Lord of the Lone Sail suddenly revived, and he couldn’t help but punch the air in excitement.
"Good!"
"Lord, should we use that now?" his deputy immediately asked.
The Lord of the Lone Sail was about to nod swiftly, but then quickly realized something.
"No, it’s not time yet," he said in a deep voice.
