"Ning Wen, swiftly reload the cannons!"
"Tang Fang, prepare for mobile evasion!"
"Combat personnel, take positions in sequence. Storm Infantry Vehicle, head to the upper level and get into position!"
Watching the approaching Predatory Cities, Li Ye waved his hand and issued a series of commands.
"Even if you think victory is in your grasp, if you want to hunt us down......" he looked coldly at the Olympus Alliance and said, "then you must pay the price!"
At this moment, the Olympus Alliance had gradually begun to deploy its formation.
The fire-support-type city Apollo took position in the rear, gunners on the deck began calculating various parameters, and the cannon muzzle slowly began to rise.
The defense-type city Kronos charged straight ahead, its speed steadily increasing.
The assault-type cities Hades, Athena, and Medusa began flanking from the left and right.
The engineer-type city Vulcan continuously launched signal flares while shuttling between its allies in the rear, supplying shells, machine guns, and fuel.
The flagship Zeus stationed at the far back.
Alongside them, there were also hundreds of enemy speedboats deployed.
Black clouds loomed over the city, threatening destruction.
At this moment, such was the thought in Li Ye's mind.
Anyone witnessing this scene would feel their scalp tingle.
Worse still, he had no idea about the specifics of the Olympus Alliance’s Level 2 items.
Tomorrow opened fire with all its cannons.
Molten Cannons bombarded the left flank, Frost Cannons bombarded the right.
Three assault-type Predatory Cities immediately began mobile evasion, dodging the shells.
One Molten Shell exploded just a few meters from Athena, and the massive shockwave instantly destroyed the right hull, forcing it to slow down.
Hades and Medusa on the right, relying on mobile evasion, dodged the bombardment and rapidly closed in on Tomorrow.
"It seems their main attack is coming from the right." Li Ye spoke in a low voice. "Before that, take out Athena first!"
He then waved his hand to order a launch of Black Shark Torpedoes at the now-slowed Athena.
Intelligence had previously mentioned that Athena and Hades were fully equipped cities, meaning that aside from possessing Level 2 items, their combat strength was not far off from Tomorrow.
With a thunderous roar, Tomorrow launched two Black Shark Torpedoes toward Athena.
These two Level 1 torpedoes swept forth like the scythe of death, flanking left and right at a narrow angle toward the slowed Athena.
However, midway through, the torpedoes appeared to be affected by something and veered straight past Athena.
Li Ye immediately realized what had happened.
Athena evidently possessed a Level 2 item—likely a torpedo interference device.
As he had predicted, due to the unknown nature of the enemy’s Level 2 items, Tomorrow was too easily put at a disadvantage.
Meanwhile, two members of the Olympus Alliance had previously engaged Tomorrow, giving them a fair understanding of its combat capabilities.
At this moment, over a dozen speedboats had already closed in within a hundred meters of Tomorrow.
The crew on board were equipped with Level 1 Firearms and rocket launchers, with heavy machine guns mounted as well.
Their mission was to destroy Tomorrow’s propeller thrusters and hull, rendering it immobile.
But Li Ye would not let them succeed.
With a wave of his hand, the heavy machine guns on Tomorrow’s deck opened fire, and the upper-level Storm Infantry Vehicle poured down firepower.
Even though the speedboats had spread out in advance, under this overwhelming barrage, many were still riddled with bullets, catching fire and exploding one after another.
The Olympus Alliance’s first attempt to cripple Tomorrow’s mobility had failed.
Yet, the crew of Tomorrow had no time to celebrate this victory, for Apollo in the distance was already in position.
The two Predatory Cities on the flanks had also completed their aiming.
The next second, they fired simultaneously.
A barrage of shells blanketed Tomorrow.
Shells pounded the water like a torrential downpour, countless plumes of water tens of meters high surged upward, murky waves filled with sand and mud shot toward the sky.
Shockwaves tore circular cracks across the water’s surface, ripples had barely begun to spread before being crushed by a new wave of explosions.
The entire water area resembled a boiling cauldron of hot soup, churning with white foam and rolling smoke.
Tomorrow performed mobile evasion amid the relentless explosions and activated its Energy Shield.
97%, 82%, 74%, 63%......
The City Energy was consumed at a staggering rate in a short period. To defend against this round of bombardment, Tomorrow had burned through a full 34% of its City Energy!
A few drops of sweat slid down Li Ye’s cheeks.
If not for the Energy Shield, Tomorrow would have been destroyed in this bombardment.
He couldn’t help but feel fortunate that the City Auction House just happened to be selling Level 2 Iron Ore.
No sooner had the bombardment ended, another wave of danger followed.
The Level 1 defense-type city – Kronos – was now less than a kilometer away from Tomorrow.
With a thunderous roar, this Predatory City suddenly pushed its engines to full power and charged straight at Tomorrow!
As a fully-equipped defense-type city, Kronos was enormous—twice the size of a standard city.
Combined with its bronze-toned city camouflage, it truly resembled a Titan giant from Greek mythology.
The armor plates on its exterior were astonishingly thick, composed of three interlocked layers of forged and quenched steel.
The joints were sealed with a composite of cork, asphalt, and asbestos to absorb the blast shock. Some sections were as thick as a fortress.
Its City Armor was also designed with a sloped configuration, tilted 15 degrees outward, making it easier to deflect incoming shells.
Its hull was ridiculously thick, like a burly chin.
Both sides of the hull featured anti-torpedo protrusions that detonated incoming torpedoes prematurely, protecting the thrusters from impact.
The front edge of the hull carried an external anti-torpedo net, a Level 1 item woven from high-tensile steel cables that could pre-detonate torpedoes at mid-range and reduce their destructive power—adding yet another layer of defense.
This series of hull defenses was specifically designed to prevent enemy fleets from charging in and damaging it, thereby crippling Kronos’s mobility.
In fact, when facing a defense-type city in combat, Mobile Cities often aimed to destroy its treaded wheels or propeller-driven hull to render it immobile.
The reason was simple—defense-type cities were typically outfitted with extremely thick City Armor, making them very hard to penetrate.
And they usually carried few, if any, cannons.
Once they lost mobility, they could only remain stationary, effectively out of the battle.
Accordingly, defense-type cities also invested heavily in reinforcing their treaded wheels and propeller-driven hulls.
Level 2 City Armor, Level 2 Hull, and this full array of defensive configurations—no enemy on the battlefield wanted to deal with Kronos. All they wanted was to steer clear of it as quickly as possible.
At this moment, this defense-type city was like an uncontrollable boulder, crashing violently toward Tomorrow!
