Chapter 347: Chapter 08: Blood Elf and Dragon Mercenary Group (2)_2 After some thought, Andrew smiled and replied, "Of course." "This way, please." Under the guidance of the young woman, Andrew sat down in the sofa area outside the room. On another sofa sat a Beastman. Bald, fanged, twice Andrew’s size, his muscular frame clad in leather armor. He seemed to be waiting as well, though who knew for how long. Hugging a massive axe, he had already dozed off. The surroundings were utter chaos, filled with endless chatter and moving staff handling all sorts of tasks, tirelessly busy. Andrew was the only one sitting quietly. Oh no, there was also the young woman at the desk in front of the room’s door, presumably the boss’s secretary. Whenever their eyes met, she would flash him a professional smile and politely nod at him. "Is this what waiting for me looks like? I thought it’d be just for me," Andrew muttered to himself with a wry smile. "Someday, I’ll have people waiting outside the door for me too. The longer they wait, the better." And just like that, he waited. After about half an hour, the door finally opened. Out came six to seven humans, led by a rather extravagantly dressed goblin. Striding flamboyantly, the group passed by Andrew without so much as a glance, likely not noticing him at all. "Captain Duru, it’s your turn. Please come in." The secretary walked up to Andrew and said. "Shouldn’t it be his turn first? He arrived before me," Duru said, motioning to the Beastman still asleep next to him. "Shh." Giving the Beastman a quick glance, the secretary raised her hand in a silencing gesture before saying softly, "You first. Please, come in." Shrugging, Andrew slowly rose to his feet and walked straight into the room. The room, one had to admit, felt far larger than it appeared from the outside. Perhaps it was because of the comparison to the mission hall outside that it seemed small by contrast. Inside, however, it was an entirely different sensation. Andrew was immediately drawn to the glass wall in front of him. Standing there, one could clearly see the entire mission hall, a panoramic view laid out in perfect clarity. In front of the glass wall was a circle of sofas and coffee tables. The left-hand wall was lined entirely with bookshelves stacked with tomes, save for a tightly locked small door. In the corner was a bar counter stocked with various bottles of wine and other decorative objects. On the right was a desk and yet another wall of bookshelves. At this very moment, there was only one individual in the room—or rather, one goblin. Short and stout, with thick, stubby limbs, a hairless, greenish head, and pointed ears. He was decked in fine, luxurious attire, wearing chunky necklaces and rings covering his hands. Right now, he was leaning over the desk, puffing on a thick cigar while scribbling something. Raising his head to glance at Andrew, the goblin then shifted his gaze to the secretary standing behind him. "Boss, this is Captain Duru—leader of the Blood Elf & Dragon Mercenary Group." The secretary introduced them before pivoting to Andrew. "And this is our boss, Mr. Bian Tulu, commonly referred to as Bi’an the Sixth. He owns four of the eight adventurer halls in this area." "Pleasure to meet you." Bi’an the Sixth, with the cigar between his lips, jumped down from his chair, standing only up to Andrew’s waist. "Pleasure," Andrew replied with a faint smile. Circling around the desk, Bi’an the Sixth approached Andrew and extended a hand. Andrew assumed he wanted to shake hands, so he extended his as well. However, Bi’an the Sixth merely patted Andrew’s hand lightly before brushing past him toward the sofa, leaving Andrew feeling a bit awkward as he silently watched him walk away. Sitting down on the sofa, Bi’an the Sixth casually remarked, "You may leave now." "Understood." The secretary smiled courteously at Andrew before exiting and closing the door behind her. The room was now left with just Andrew and Bi’an the Sixth. Leaning back against the sofa, Bi’an the Sixth clamped his cigar between his teeth and, with a slightly accented voice, asked, "Would Captain Duru like some wine, tea, or perhaps a cigar?" "No, I’d like nothing," Andrew replied softly. "Not fond of any of them?" "Blood Elves do drink wine, but I have a considerable amount of work to do today. It’s not ideal." "Ah, what a pity. My mixology skills, I assure you, are unmatched in all of Lorin Pess. Please, have a seat, Captain Duru." Bi’an the Sixth gestured toward a nearby sofa as he spoke. "Let’s have a chat." "Certainly." Andrew walked over and took a seat. As Bi’an the Sixth started mixing himself a drink at the table, he focused intently—his technique, it must be said, appeared quite refined. Throughout the entire process, neither he nor Andrew said a word. After a long moment, Bi’an the Sixth finally finished his concoction, poured Andrew a glass of water, and flicked some ash off his cigar. "The mission you’ve taken from us—you’re working on it together with Christina, correct?" "Yes," Andrew replied casually. "So, the two of you are from the same Mercenary Group, right? It’s just that Christina can’t accept assignments from us directly, which is why you registered a separate Mercenary Group with you as the leader?" Andrew smiled silently, meeting Bi’an the Sixth’s gaze without commenting. This was practically an admission, but Bi’an the Sixth misunderstood the silence, thinking he had gotten it wrong. Flipping through a notebook on the side, he quickly said, "Apologies. I handle an overwhelming amount of matters daily, and sometimes I mix things up. Plus, the intel from my subordinates isn’t always reliable. That’s why I always double-check before we discuss any business. Now, please, give me a clear answer: yes or no. I want the undeniable truth—not guesses."
