A large swelling had formed on the back of his head, sticky to the touch—there was no need to look to know it was blood. He carelessly wiped it on his shirt, leaving behind several bloodstains, then moved to the cabinet to pack up the items on the desk, one by one. Beneath the hand-held lamp, Lu Li’s shadow stretched long and thin. He picked up the Spirit-Calling Gun, opened the chamber to check it, then clicked it shut again. Suddenly, he turned his head, his gaze falling on a corner near the operating table. The moment he came into brief contact with the Spirit-Calling Gun, Lu Li sensed an aura spreading around him. Almost instantly, Lu Li linked the emergence of the aura to the brain lamp. “So this is what Richard meant... summoning a spirit and then letting it deal with me...” Placing the Spirit-Calling Gun back into its holster, Lu Li lifted the hand-held lamp high. There was nowhere for the darkness to hide, and the previously pitch-black corner now revealed an opening. Digging marks were left on its edges, and the extent of the hole was unknown. The aura was seeping out from within it. The door was already open, but Lu Li had no immediate desire to leave the place. The reason was simple: the strength of the aura was limited, and Lu Li did not want to miss out on this “nourishment.” Somewhere deep within the hole, something seemed to be wriggling—seconds later, a plump head appeared at the edge of the opening. Logically, with the head having such difficulty squeezing out, the body should not have been able to follow. Yet the mass of fat wriggled as if boneless, oozing from the hole into the operating room, piling up in a corner, gradually taking shape. Spirits mostly maintained the state from the moment before their death, but this one seemed different... Waves of flesh began to coalesce into a humanoid form. It wasn’t fully out yet, but the spacious operating room now felt cramped. Lu Li subconsciously lowered his head to look at the Spirit-Calling Gun. It seemed to tell him that the gun would likely struggle to deal significant damage to such a large entity. Pop~ Amid a strangely comforting sound, an eyeball veined with blood squeezed out from the flesh waves, fixing its gaze on Lu Li. What could be a better weapon than this? While flesh waves churned behind him, Lu Li grasped the iron pipe with both hands and dragged it along. Muddy rust-water leaked from the lower end, leaving behind a meandering wet trail. A grating noise followed Lu Li. He walked up to where the flesh was rolling by the corner, the latter still struggling to free its body from the narrow opening. But until it was fully out, it was merely a stuck target, unable to move. Lu Li’s hands, which were holding the iron pipe, suddenly tightened. The shirt sleeves bulged with the contour of his muscles as he forcefully lifted the heavy radiator like a giant hammer and brought it crashing down!
