Those red lips, hidden by her fingers, curled into a beautiful smile as she replied with a chuckle, “You might get eaten up.” Lu Li said no more, walking shoulder to shoulder with the girl, bypassing the blocked main gate and entering the residential area through the side door. The garden path, shrouded in a misty drizzle, with a man and woman shoulder to shoulder under an umbrella. To onlookers, it might seem rather romantic—but the people involved wouldn’t think so. Suddenly, a faint chewing sound seemed to come from above, like the grinding of teeth. “Don’t look up, okay?” the girl said softly. “I know,” Lu Li replied. They walked the short distance as if on thin ice. At last, the three buildings were only a step away. In front of the gloomy corridor, Lu Li took a step forward, leaving the coverage of the red umbrella. “Thank you for walking me here,” Lu Li turned his head and calmly thanked her. The girl lifted a corner of her skirt, chuckled lightly, and bowed slightly.
