We’ll all have a blast with the cash later.” “Cool, following Monkey means meat on the plate.” The gang made their way to Lin’s Group. Soon, the gangsters arrived at the lobby of Lin’s Group, startling the security guards with their shady attire. One security guard quickly stepped forward to stop them but backed down when met with a fierce glare, “We’re just here to find someone. Once we find him, we’ll leave.” Intimidated, the security guard didn’t dare make a move. After the hooligans entered, he immediately notified others over the communication system and ordered preparations to call the police. “Excuse me, miss, is there someone named Li Chen in your company?” A sudden voice startled the receptionist, who became flustered upon seeing the mob’s outfits. “Hello, sir, may I ask what you need him for?” the receptionist gently asked. “I’m not here for questions, just fetch him for me,” Monkey said dismissively. While the security guards gathered around, none dared to act hastily. Soon, the remaining security staff also came downstairs, outnumbering the intruders. “Sir, I’m sorry, but unless you explain, I won’t assist you,” the receptionist stated. Monkey was about to explode with anger when his phone rang—it was Zhao Wenbin calling. “Monkey, just head straight to the 9th floor,” Zhao Wenbin directed. Monkey and his group shot a glare at the receptionist and moved toward the elevator. The security guards wanted to intervene but then received a call from Zhao Wenbin. “Old Li, these guys are here to interview for a security position, let them up,” Zhao Wenbin spoke with authority over the phone. Hearing that even HR said so, the guards felt powerless and let them go. Upon reaching the 9th floor, Monkey immediately spotted Zhao Wenbin. “Where’s the guy you want us to beat? Hurry up and let’s get this done so you can pay up,” asked Monkey, impatient. “Don’t worry about the money, Monkey; it’s surely yours,” Zhao Wenbin simpered, “He’s on this floor, named Li Chen. I’ve already cleared out the security here so you can go all out.” However, just then, Li Chen emerged from a lab and approached upon seeing Zhao Wenbin and the gang not far off. “That’s him,” Zhao Wenbin said coldly, his body partly bandaged and wrapped in white, hastily done in Lin’s Group’s medical room. “Hmm?” Monkey and his men began approaching Li Chen. Some perfumers from the lab also came out, saw what was happening, and quickly retreated inside, not wanting to relive their previous ordeal. Monkey and his crew surrounded Li Chen. “You’re Li Chen?” Monkey sized him up. Li Chen didn’t reply, instead looked towards Zhao Wenbin and started to laugh, seemingly amused. Zhao Wenbin shuddered, unsettled by Li Chen’s laughter. “Oh, getting smart, huh? Learned to hire some muscle?” Li Chen said calmly. “Fuck, you hear me talking to you?” Monkey instantly roared and aimed a kick at Li Chen, but bizarrely, it missed completely. “Tsk tsk, the people you’ve brought are this good?” Li Chen shook his head, “Perfect, since I didn’t get enough of a fight last time.” “You dare act tough in front of me?” Monkey erupted, “Boys, let’s do this, take him down.” In an instant, more than a dozen thugs pulled out switchblades and charged at Li Chen. Li Chen moved like lightning, striking fast; a gangster approaching from the front was instantly sent flying before others could get close enough to stab. One thug couldn’t even move. With an elbow jab, Li Chen made the man cry out in pain and snatched the switchblade, then slapped him dizzy. As the thug held the blade, Li Chen stabbingly threw it behind him, impaling it in the arm of another charging hooligan who let out a great roar of pain! Although surrounded by many people, Li Chen moved through them like a tiger among sheep, his movements graceful and his strikes as fast as lightning. Within a few moves, none of the thugs had even touched his clothes. He leapt up and kicked the remaining person flying. In an instant, the dozen or so men who had just rushed up were all lying on the ground, groaning. “It seems the people you found aren’t up to much,” Li Chen said with a slight smile, looking towards Zhao Wenbin in the distance. Zhao Wenbin was almost scared silly, his legs trembling like sieves, and he stammered, “You, you, you, what, what do, do you, want?” Lying on the ground, Monkey coughed and stood up, cursing, “Damn it, don’t be too proud, I’m calling my boss over now.” “Oh, there’s a boss too?” Li Chen said mockingly, “That’s perfect, we can settle it all at once—by the way, do you have a phone or do you need to borrow mine?” “Don’t be arrogant. There isn’t a place in Linchuan where he can’t walk sideways.” Hearing Monkey say this, Zhao Wenbin finally felt reassured and boldly threatened Li Chen, “Li Chen, you’re in for it now.” “Don’t cry for mercy when my boss beats you to a point where you can’t fend for yourself,” Monkey also sneered continuously, and the other thugs, hearing that their boss was coming, also felt a surge of confidence. “Li Chen, you dared to snatch Lin Yi away; I will definitely avenge this,” Zhao Wenbin said through clenched fists, his eyes shooting daggers. Li Chen nonchalantly watched the man approach, thinking to himself how cool his entrance was and wondering if he should try it sometime. “Boss!” Monkey immediately shouted out loud, and the man turned towards him, speaking indifferently, “What trouble have you stirred up this time?” Seeing the man approach, Zhao Wenbin’s heart raced with excitement as he looked at Li Chen, thinking, can you fly away this time? “Boss, I’ve been beaten,” Monkey said, pointing towards Li Chen with a look of grievance. “It was him. He not only beat me but also boasted that he would wipe out our gang; he beat up our brothers too. Boss, you have to stand up for us.” The man snorted coldly, his gaze from behind the sunglasses scanning Monkey briefly and disdainfully, calling him “Useless.” Then, the man turned his attention towards Li Chen, beginning to speak in a measured tone, “In Linchuan City, no one dares to speak to Hao’s people like this...” However, his originally robust voice gradually diminished, and even without finishing his sentence, it completely disappeared. Zhao Wenbin and Monkey were puzzled, what was happening? Wang Hao, looking not far at Li Chen who was almost smiling, blinked his eyes, unable to see clearly, removed his sunglasses, and then rubbed his eyes vigorously, leaning forward as if he couldn’t believe it.
