The scenery at the Great Buddha Temple is beautiful, with ancient trees towering to the sky.
Strolling amidst it, letting the pine breeze relieve the sweat, listening to the mountain birds raise their voices.
Bewitched by such a beautiful scene, Su Jin walked further and further, leaving the hustle and bustle behind.
Xingxing looked around, really didn’t see anything worth staring at.
Qingyun Mountain is ten times more beautiful than this.
Why is the young lady walking farther and farther?
With nobody around and the wind blowing chilly on them, it began to feel a bit cold and biting.
Xingxing was a little scared, "Gongzi, let’s go back, okay?"
Su Jin stopped in her tracks, seemingly realizing she had walked too far.
"Let’s head back," she said.
Just as the mistress and servant turned and walked a hundred steps or so back, they were blocked by someone.
Their path was blocked by five men, whose faces bore sleazy smiles that made others feel disgusted.
When they walked left, the men blocked the left.
When they walked right, the men blocked the right.
Xingxing glared and said, "Which way are you going to go?!"
The leading man stroked his chin, thinking this girl had quite a temper, he said, "Aren’t you afraid of us?"
Xingxing wrinkled her brow, "Why should we be afraid of you?"
"Because we’re the robbers!" The man said with full force.
"So are we," Xingxing said.
"..."
The men were stunned.
Xingxing looked at Su Jin, saying excitedly, "Miss, we’ve encountered fellow colleagues."
Su Jin, "..."
The men, "..."
Su Jin held her forehead.
Is it that thrilling to meet colleagues in this situation?
"We’ve never robbed colleagues before, shall we rob them?" Xingxing was eager to give it a try.
Su Jin, "..."
The men, "..."
Su Jin was between laughter and tears.
Apparently, she realized that shopping and sightseeing were not as exciting for Xingxing as robbery was.
These guys were just here to let Xingxing have some fun.
Who would’ve thought that even the Great Buddha Temple, a sacred Buddhist ground, would have brazen robbers?
Since they delivered themselves to the doorstep, they’d better give them some lesson, or who knows how much trouble they might cause.
However, the men seemed to have heard a hilarious joke and couldn’t stop laughing.
Two girls who couldn’t even truss a chicken, brazenly claiming they wanted to rob them?
"That’s the funniest joke I’ve heard all year," a thin man laughed.
"This joke will keep me laughing for a year," another man said.
"Such a cute chick, I want her!" yet another man said.
"Come on, Big Bro hasn’t spoken yet, how can it be your turn?"
"Does Big Bro even need to speak? The best should surely go to Big Bro."
"..."
They were enthusiastically divvying up the spoils.
Xingxing’s impatient nature was showing, she was getting a bit annoyed.
She took out a whip from her bag and scolded them, "Haven’t even gotten the goods yet and already splitting up the spoils, my Marquis said, proud and arrogant people are destined to fail!"
Pa!
A whip lashed out.
Caught off guard, the whip landed on the leader’s face.
A whip mark appeared instantly on the man’s face, distressingly conspicuous.
Pain and anger contorted the man’s face, as if he wanted to devour someone.
Su Jin retreated a few steps to avoid getting accidentally hit by Xingxing’s whip.
Just right, there was a large stone there, she walked over and sat on it.
Xingxing lashed the whip, but the man caught it.
Though Xingxing was strong, she was facing a man after all, and a burly one at that.
The whip was about to slip from her grip, Xingxing cried out, "Miss, come help me!"
No one answered her.
Xingxing turned her head, only to see her young lady sitting on the stone cheering her on, "You can do it."
Xingxing, "..."
Xingxing was almost in tears.
My lady, you can’t do this.
Xingxing mustered all her strength, suddenly yanking the whip back, actually managing to regain it, though she staggered several steps back and nearly fell over.
The man shook his head.
Feeling dizzy.
In front of him, Xingxing appeared to multiply, his vision blurry as if covered by something, he couldn’t see clearly.
The whip came toward him.
He reached out to grab it.
In the end, the whip lashed around his neck, pulling him forward, causing him to crash solidly on the ground.
The other men were also light-headed.
These thugs, quite familiar with sedatives realized they had fallen victim to one.
The men were horrified.
"Not good! Run!"
Except for the one on the ground who couldn’t get up, the other four ran off holding their heads, Xingxing chased after them.
A whip lashed the back of one as he tumbled forward, losing consciousness.
On a nearby tree, a Hidden Guard secretly dispatched to protect the Eldest Young Madam by the Eldest Young Master silently dropped the stone he was holding.
He just knew the Eldest Young Master was worrying for nothing.
Encountering the Eldest Young Madam and her maid, the unlucky ones were bound to be others.
Xingxing stood over there holding the whip, all the men were knocked out cold.
Su Jin walked over.
Xingxing turned back.
Su Jin raised her hand to tap her on the forehead, "Really courageous, daring to rob anyone."
Xingxing rubbed her forehead, her eyes curving into crescents with her smile, "You aren’t afraid of hornets, what about them?"
No refute to that.
This maid is not just bold but meticulous too.
"Next time when we go out, pack some sunflower seeds to carry with us," Su Jin said.
"Got it," Xingxing said cheerfully.
Putting the whip away in her bag, she went to search the men’s bodies.
Found quite a bit of silver on them, especially on the lead man, from whom she found a delicate purse.
Inside the purse was fifty taels of silver.
Xingxing poured out the silver, casually tossing the purse on the ground.
Su Jin looked at the purse.
Her gaze flickered slightly.
Why did the purse look somewhat familiar?
Walking over, Su Jin bent down to pick up the purse, seeing this, Xingxing asked, "Miss, why pick up the purse?"
Su Jin checked the purse, unable to recall where she’d seen it before.
She handed the purse to Xingxing, saying, "Keep it for now."
Xingxing didn’t know why Su Jin wanted the purse.
For such a purse, the lady had no less than a hundred, if not ninety.
But if the lady wanted it, she’d keep it.
Xingxing casually stuffed the purse into her bag.
She couldn’t stop grinning, her face was still glowing with excitement, "It’s just as the Marquis said, the people of the Capital are loaded, we can easily rob more than sixty taels, enough to buy lots of good food."
Su Jin shook her head with amusement.
"Let’s head back."
She lifted her foot to prepare to leave.
Just then, a scream came from not too far away.
Xingxing turned her head, shouting, "Who’s hiding there? Come out!"
She said this as she took her whip out again.
A young lady stepped out from behind the stone, with delicate features, eyebrows as if painted, her skin more radiant than snow.
But her face was pallid with fright, looking like a startled deer in the forest.
Beside her stood a maid.
Judging by her attire, the young lady’s status was clearly extraordinary.
Su Jin just noticed the golden hairpin on her head.
Quickly, the young lady removed the hairpin, and likewise took off the jade bracelet on her wrist and the jade pendant at her waist.
Su Jin was somewhat bemused.
The young lady’s voice trembled, scared to tears almost, "They, they’re all yours, could you not whip me?"
Su Jin, "..."
Xingxing, "..."
