The eerie laughter of an old man in a black robe echoed through the rainy night. "If they had sent a few Titled Douluo, I would have turned and fled without hesitation. Though some members of the Mortal Alliance had attempted to stop him, they had only managed to slow him down slightly they were nowhere near strong enough to defeat him. After all, evil soul masters were infamous for their overwhelming combat prowess. He was a seasoned Soul Douluo, and could even hold his own against weaker Titled Douluo. Of course, if he had encountered a Titled Douluo from Shrek Academy, the situation would be different. Shrek's Titled Douluo were particularly powerful, as the academy gathered the most elite soul masters across the continent. Still, he had not expected the Vice Hierarch to personally assign him this task: hunting down the Angel Martial Soul wielder. Under normal circumstances, if the Holy Spirit Cult's "National Protector Religion" and their Grand Priest plan proceeded smoothly, he would have been stationed in a minor city, recruiting disciples for the cult. If that were the case, this Angel Martial Soul girl might have actually escaped with the Mortal Alliance's help. But since he had come here personally, she was doomed. Ye Guyi remained silent, her face pale as worry gripped her heart. Her current strength was only at the Soul Ancestor level. The difference between her and the evil Soul Douluo was simply too vast. The Ice Dragon King and Fire Dragon King's souls had now become formidable forces within the Necromantic Sub Dimension. Of course, the transformation had been relatively easy after all, the Dragon Souls lacked intelligence and were merely remnants of pure origin power. The Golden Tortoise, however, was having a less pleasant experience. Every time it encountered the Dragon Souls, it felt a natural sense of inferiority a primal instinct in the face of true rulers. Suddenly, Huo Yuhao's Spiritual Detection picked up something. "Hmm? There's someone nearby? A girl? Wait... an Angel Martial Soul? This must be Ye Guyi." Through his keen perception, detailed images flooded his mind. A faint smile appeared on his lips. "It looks like someone is chasing her... an evil soul master? Ye Guyi is practically a divine weapon against them. I have to save her. Later, I can let her unleash some 'Holy Angel Shock' against the evil soul masters." Without hesitation, Huo Yuhao changed course, speeding toward Ye Guyi's location. Ye Guyi collapsed onto the ground, looking like a broken doll. Blood dripped from her lips, and her face was deathly pale. Though she had been desperately fleeing, the evil soul master had finally caught up to her striking her with a casual but devastating attack. If not for the last remnants of her soul tool's protective barrier, that attack would have killed her instantly. The black robed elder gazed down at Ye Guyi with greedy eyes. "Little girl, once I kill you, I'll extract your soul and refine you into a wraith... I wonder what kind of special effects a Holy Angel Wraith will have?" Ye Guyi clenched her teeth, gripping her sword tightly as she struggled to stand. She knew she would die, but she refused to surrender. As someone who wielded the Holy Angel Martial Soul, how could she back down before an evil soul master? "Oh? Still resisting?" The black robed elder sneered. His soul rings emerged, and in the next moment, both of his hands turned silver white. He took one step forward and instantly appeared before Ye Guyi. "So fast!" Her heart trembled, but she still thrust her sword forward, determined to strike. Yet, her soul power was completely drained she couldn't even use a soul skill. "Too weak." The evil soul master caught her sword effortlessly. A flash of silver light CRACK! The blade shattered, metal fragments scattering onto the ground. Suddenly, several ghostly figures appeared around him. They were wraith like infants, their faces contorted in pain. Each one was semi transparent, with ghastly, sorrowful expressions. Ye Guyi's body trembled with fury. This man... he had murdered children to create these wraiths! Her fists clenched with rage. The black robed elder ordered, "Kill her. Extract her soul." With that command, the wraiths surged toward her. In the elder's mind, Ye Guyi's fate was sealed. All he had to do was wait a few moments for her screams to fill the air. A twisted smile spread across his face. Like many evil soul masters in the Holy Spirit Cult, his methods were so bloodthirsty that even his mind had long since twisted. To him, the screams of the innocent were a beautiful melody. But then... A blinding white light rained down from the sky. It pierced through the wraiths, washing over them with divine purity. The pained expressions on their faces softened And then, they dissolved into specks of light. Ye Guyi gasped. Even the black robed elder's smug expression vanished instantly. His eyes widened in shock. "Impossible!" "Nothing is impossible." A calm voice rang out as a cloaked figure emerged from thin air. Huo Yuhao had finally canceled his Mimicry soul skill. He coldly stared at the black robed elder, a sharp glint flashing in his eyes. He knew this man had no limits countless innocent children had fallen victim to him. The black robed elder's gaze turned murderous. "A mere Soul Ancestor? You dare to interfere with my hard earned wraiths?" His aura erupted, and he charged directly toward Huo Yuhao. Ye Guyi panicked. "Run! Get out of here! He's a Contra level evil soul master! You're no match for him!" She appreciated the rescue, but she didn't want to see her savior die in front of her.
