above, the snow continued to fall softly, a stark contrast to the fierce battle that had just unfolded.
the darkened sky, a lingering effect of her clash with yilar, made it feel as though night had never lifted. the golden sands of the desert were now blanketed in white, transformed into a surreal, frozen tundra.
belan, lysandra, eran, and the knights finally allowed themselves to breathe, their sighs of relief visible in the cold air. the immediate danger was gone, and the oppressive weight of the creatures' assault had lifted. they exchanged weary but grateful glances, their exhaustion evident as they leaned on their weapons or dropped to one knee.
raayani, however, remained vigilant. her eyes, gleaming with an azure light, scanned the battlefield with measured intrigue. for a moment, she seemed lost in thought, as though considering the nature of these creatures.
suddenly, her senses picked up a turbulent energy.
her musings were cut short as her gaze sharpened, drawn toward another part of the battlefield.
her eyes locked onto the distant figures of jolthar and daurgien, their clash still raging amidst the frozen desolation. the oppressive aura of voidwrath clashed with the malevolent energy radiating from daurgien, their battle a chaotic maelstrom of power that sent tremors rippling through the icy ground.
raayani's expression hardened; the energy she sensed was emitted by jolthar, and she was surprised to see such dominating power coming from a child.
the air around jolthar shimmered with raw energy as his voidwrath and aura flared violently, his presence oppressive and almost unbearable for those nearby. blood ran freely down his arm, staining his fingers and the hilt of his sword, but his determination burned brighter than his injuries. across from him, daurgien charged with unbridled rage, his monstrous form exuding a dark, malevolent power.
jolthar gritted his teeth, summoning every ounce of strength left in his battered body. as daurgien closed in, he raised knashii, its dark glow intensifying, and swung the blade in a powerful vertical arc.
as the dust settled, daurgien's lifeless body collapsed to the ground, his two halves falling with a sickening thud. the once-menacing aura surrounding him vanished, leaving behind a void-like stillness.
jolthar, drained of every ounce of energy, swayed on his feet before collapsing to the ground, unconscious.
nearby, yoana had finished dispatching the robed nynthralls, her stance relaxed but her sharp eyes still scanning for threats.
raayani was surprised to see a young kid wielding such power. she could feel the rawness and intensity of the energy that had emitted dominance over the canyon just seconds ago. her perception of jolthar was starting to change. but her thoughts were interrupted by faint tremors.
the canyon remained deathly quiet, the silence broken only by the faint rumble of the ground beneath them.
but then, the ground began to tremble violently. cracks spread rapidly across the canyon floor, and the jagged edges of the fissure started to crumble inward. the walls of the canyon groaned ominously, sections of rock and sand collapsing as the entire structure began to give way.
raayani, her gaze sharp and unyielding, was the first to react. "move! now!" she shouted, her commanding voice cutting through the daze of the others. the knights, lysandra, belan, and eran, snapped out of their stupor, quickly gathering their wits.
the collapse was rapid; the stones from the side walls fell quickly, and they had to hurry, and everyone was busy getting themselves out of the canyon as fast as possible.
getting out of the collapsing canyon was a frantic, disorienting ordeal. the rumble of the ground and the roar of falling rocks drowned out all other sounds, leaving the group scrambling against time itself.
eran, quick on his feet and sharp in his reactions, became a blur of movement amidst the chaos.
