She couldn’t admit she had been snooping into Zara’s medical records. "I came to pick up Mom’s test results." "Mom’s test results? Is she alright?" he asked, concern flashing across his face. "She is fine," Riya said quickly. "Just a routine check-up. But what about you? You said you were going to look for Zara. Why are you at the hospital? You look... shaken." Her eyes darted to the emergency room door. "Who is in there?" Nathaniel’s expression changed, his face falling. "Zara," he said quietly. "She was kidnapped." "Kidnapped?" Let me call the driver and have him bring you something clean." Before Nathaniel could object, she was already on the phone. Nathaniel’s eyes drifted to the emergency room door, still closed. The doctor gave a small, reassuring nod. "She is stable. Out of danger." Nathaniel felt a breath he didn’t realize he had been holding finally escape. I’ll stay here and watch over Zara. I’ll call you the moment she wakes up." Nathaniel hesitated, but the exhaustion was catching up to him. His body ached, and the blood and grime on him felt unbearable now. He also thought he needed a bath. "Alright," he said. "Stay close. Don’t leave her side. Call me immediately if anything changes." "They have gone dark, but they won’t stay hidden for long. We have already seized the Moore estate and all their assets. They will come out soon." Nathaniel’s voice dropped to a hard edge. "Keep going. I want them found and begging."
