267: Chapter 265: Lord Rabbit 267: Chapter 265: Lord Rabbit Ghost sneered as he patted the dust off his robe’s hem and stood up, his gaze cold and ruthless as he watched her gradually sinking, her struggles weakening.
Deep within his eyes, which were like ice, there seemed to be twisted pleasure and satisfaction.
Just when Ghost was about to conceal his malice and vanish, the candle on the desk beside him silently snapped in two, as if a sharp piece of paper had sliced through it.
An extremely faint Sword Intent, its origin unknown, seemed to arise from all directions.
Shh shh shh—
That was the sound of Sword Intent cutting through space.
Swoosh swoosh swoosh—
That was Ghost executing his mysterious movement technique.
The invisible sword wind twisted the space into numerous small voids.
Whenever Ghost turned into a cloud of black mist and vanished on the spot, a streak of Sword Intent would follow closely behind, leaving a shallow sword mark between the floorboards or on the beams.
The sword marks were not deep, and they looked like the work of a naughty child carving on a wooden board.
Yet, they made Ghost feel as if he were facing a formidable enemy.
The Sword Intent was exceedingly light and rapid, allowing him no chance to think, following him like a shadow.
Although he could perfectly dodge the extremely fast sword strike with his strange movements,
damn it, whenever he reappeared, the opponent’s Sword Intent always seemed to predict his next move, once again targeting his vital points at his chest or between his brows.
Ghost suddenly let out an extremely enraged roar!
For when he saw those black shadowy Ghost Hands surrounding Ji San all chopped up by the sharp Sword Intent.
The prey that should have sunk into the Abyss was safe again.
And he, under the barrage of that Sword Intent, was forced to retreat step by step.
As he roared, the malevolent energy around Ghost abruptly surged, he no longer retreated, and the swirling dark evil energy exploded, shattering all the surrounding Sword Intent.
He finally stopped moving, and from between his gloomy brows, a trickle of fresh blood spilled.
A white rabbit, its fur as pure as snow, slowly stepped out from the shadowy corner of the room.
It held no sword, only a carrot the size of a baby’s arm, which it cradled in its paw, and its cool, calm eyes swept over Ghost with a glance.
Ghost felt a burning sensation at his brow, being a yin body, all his blood was acquired through plunder.
With this sudden burning sensation, he had a bad premonition.
A majestic and upright sword fire blazed from his brow, burning away all evil spirits, a sacred Red Lotus fire that seemed capable of purging the malevolent beings of the world, causing his Spiritual Body to appear on the brink of collapse and purification!
Ji San, lying on the ground, watched in shocked disbelief at the small but adorable figure before her.
She suddenly felt that the rabbit, usually aloof, prideful, and a bit haughty, was now incredibly reliable.
Because of the soul-devouring, spirit-extinguishing agony, Ghost was driven to madness.
He lifted his right palm and struck his forehead fiercely, scattering the burning Red Lotus sword fire.
The malevolence within the room was notably reduced by half, and black blood slowly seeped from the features of Ghost’s face due to the force of his palm strike, making his face even more hideously ferocious.
He sneered, looking at the carrot in Afu Tu’s paw with obvious scorn—clearly, the Sword Intent that had so disgraced him just now was nothing more than a common carrot.
How laughable.
Ghost’s expression was like being viciously pricked by a thorn, his face convulsing involuntary, turning utterly unsightly.
He stared deeply into the rabbit’s eyes, then suddenly realized something, a cruel smile twitching on his lips, “I thought you were a Sword Cultivator from some renowned Immortal clan, but it turns out you’re the infamous demon Afu Tu who’s rampant in the Primordial era.”
The rabbit stood still, its gaze cold as ice.
Ghost chuckled lowly, the hostility and wariness on his face dissipated.
He composed himself and took a chair, fixing his disheveled black robe.
He scrutinized the rabbit with a hint of mockery in his eyes, “The infamous demon Afu Tu, notorious for your brutality.
When did you become a virtuous Guardian, and from whom did you learn such authentic Immortal Swordsmanship?
Quite impressive, aren’t you, almost having purged me with a single strike?”
Mid-sentence, he suddenly looked up with a sound between a laugh and a sneer, “I almost forgot, a Malevolent Spirit like Afu Tu lives solely on instinct and lacks the Spirit Root’s understanding.
Strong as you may be, but even if Afu Tu had ten thousand years to cultivate and learn, it couldn’t master the cultivation techniques and moves of humanity.”
“So, would you mind telling me…” Ghost gave a slight smile, “What sort of interesting contract have you formed with the Valley Master of Chaotic Netherworld Valley, that you’ve come to coexist within this body?”
Afu Tu’s eyes suddenly narrowed, filled with lethal intent!
Ghost burst out laughing as if he had seen something extremely amusing.
He clapped his hands, “Don’t be in such a hurry to go mad.
I am a Fierce Ghost who has lived for three thousand years.
How could I not tell that you’re looking for a quick battle tonight, seeking to drive me away swiftly?”
His tone was confident and certain, “Our strengths are comparable, but I can see that your Spiritual Body is unstable, your soul has entered a body, and your original body seems to have suffered serious injuries and is far away.
Your aura is severely chaotic, and should you be careless, once your True Soul collapses, with Afu Tu’s appetite, it would devour your soul in an instant, damning you forever!”
“If you forcefully battle me tonight, your soul will inevitably shatter!”
Ghost stood up and lazily stretched, strolling past Afu Tu deliberately avoiding close proximity, and the malice and hostility vanished from his body.
He approached Ji San and smiled, “Don’t worry, I have no intention of making you my enemy.
However, this little thing was a sacrificial offering for me, and I cannot allow her escape.
We have no quarrels with each other, so there’s no need for you to sacrifice your life for a useless mortal.
Isn’t life all about living freely and happily?”
The rabbit did not turn around, as if out of wariness or agreement.
Ji San could not see Afu Tu’s true face and had no idea what the rabbit was thinking at that moment.
But she knew clearly.
Tonight, no one could save her.
She slowly closed her eyes, tears tracing her lips, resigned to her fate.
Ghost sneered with disdain, seemingly disgusted by such insignificant and useless mortal life.
He lightly tapped the ground with his toe, and the dark shadows, like an endless Abyss, gathered again beneath Ji San.
The small figure began to sink in despair.
Ankles, knees, waist, chest, and lastly, her head—all submerged in darkness.
As her hand remained the only part above the dark water, a carrot was silently placed against her palm.
Ghost’s eyes darkened.
Instinctively, like clinging to the last straw, Ji San gripped the carrot from the rabbit’s paw with all her might!
Ghost said, “Do you think you can save her, and if so, for how long?”
Afu Tu gave a sidelong cold look, showing no intention of pulling Ji San out of the dark Abyss.
It made a move that shocked even Ghost.
The rabbit plunged forward, following Ji San’s fall, both plummeting into the shadowy Abyss together.
As its body vanished into the darkness, it gave Ghost a final cold look, its eyes calm yet sending a chill down his spine.
Before Ghost could seal the Barrier and trap the pair, a terrifying sword fireburst from the shadow, reducing the Barrier he had created to ashes.
His face turned particularly unsightly, “Fool!
Destroying my position Barrier will only send you to an even more terrifying and dark world!”
