Chapter 229 ~ Her Reward
“Maximize Magic: Lightning!”
A bolt of lightning burst forth from the spear-point of Arche’s silver white staff, billowing a flag of Ainz Ooal Gown attached to it.
She pointed the battle that had been granted to her by her new master forward, towards her target; the eye of an adult fire dragon that had been summoned by Cocytus and subdued by Sebad who was standing on its head.
The third tier spell she had upcasted to fourth tier and used the metamagic “Maximize Magic” to boost the damage to the maximum struck the dragon right in its weak point.
Considering her level, even after having gone through 2 more “Awakening” sessions and increased her level to 32, the damage she could inflict upon such a high level monster would’ve been negligible.
However, having been beaten to a literal inch of its life by Sebas, the bolt of lightning managed to deal the killing blow. And the moment it did, a surge of newfound strength filled Arche’s little body.
Such comfortable and addicting sensation she felt as power surged through every single vein in her body, of actually feeling her strength grow by leaps and bounds in an instant was something she had never felt her entire life.
Strength was something gained through hard work, experience, and time. It wasn’t something gained so easily and so quickly; it shouldn’t be.
But now, by defeating a foe she never even dreamed of killing with Sebas’s help, she felt her body becoming stronger physically, and her magical capabilities increasing by a factor she could’ve never imagined before.
Apparently, she was gaining an immense amount of “Experience Points”, according to Sebas, and was “Leveling up” quickly with every foe she dealt the final blow to.
The dead fire adult dragon vanished into particles of light, and Sebas landed softly on the ground beneath it, and made his way towards Arche.
“Good work. You’ve reached the limits of your level once again.”
Arche lowered her battle flag and held it up, its peak reaching several heads above her, and bowed.
“It is only thanks to you, Lord Sebas, Lord Cocytus, and of course, to the great Supreme Beings for giving me the chance to gain the strength unimaginable to me before for the sake of my family and serving them.”
Arche’s words of gratitude earned her the nods of the Butler of Steel and Ruler of the Frozen Rivers. And it was only because they were truly genuine and heartfelt.
Her gratitude for them came from the very bottom of her heart, for they have saved her from despair and given a chance. The chance to gain the strength she needed to be able to save her little sisters from her parents, which was something she couldn’t have before.
“How are you feeling?”
“Amazing, Lord Sebas. I am ready to undergo another awakening session and continue with the training.”
“That is good. However, we shall continue tomorrow. You may have the rest of the day to rest and recuperate.”
Arche looked up towards Sebas, her eyes filled with surprise and confusion.
“Is that fine, my Lord? It is still early, isn’t it?”
“Yes. But there is something I would like to show you.”
Arche tilted her head confusedly. But she quickly followed after Sebas, who had begun walking away to the exit, bowing to Cocytus on the way, and left with him.
They arrived at a teleportation dais, one of numerous that existed within the Underground Tomb.
Arche, having lived here for a few days, had used it and experienced the magic of teleportation several times. But no matter how many times she did, she would always still be astounded by the level of magical technology behind such a thing.
‘I live in a world of magic. But this place still feels like fantasy to me...’
The teleportation circle alight with a brilliant light and Arche quickly closed her eyes.
She blinked, adjusting her eyes from the sudden blinding light.
The view before her had not changed. They were still in a teleportation room.
Did they go to a different floor? Or was it still in this sixth floor? Arche wondered, but before she could think, Sebas walked off the dais and exited the room.
Arche quickly followed suit behind him, and upon exiting, she found herself in the middle of a green clearing within a lush jungle.
‘A jungle... It’s still the sixth floor...’
Sebas had told her about the general terrain of each floor within the Underground Tomb of Nazarick.
When she first heard of it, she could not believe the words that came out of his mouth, despite having trusted him with her life.
A world of ice and eternal blizzard. A literal hell and land of fire. A lush, subterranean jungle with its own day and night cycle. It was too unbelievable. Nôv(el)B\\jnn
But soon, reality affirmed his words.
Each floor within this supposedly “underground tomb” was a world of its own... And Sebas said that the Supreme Beings were the ones who created them from nothing.
‘Gods... They were actual, genuine Gods.’
There was no other explanation. Only the Gods were capable of such feat of creation. And she was chosen, given a chance to serve actual living Gods who walked the very world she lived in right now.
Witnessing the miracle of creation in the form of a forest more lush than anything else she had seen in her entire life, her loyalty towards the Supreme Beings increased once again.
They walked through the jungle for a while. Soon, she could feel the cool breeze and see blue through the thick, lush treelines.
The gigantic lake was a sight to behold when was first introduced to this floor, where most of her training would be held. Just by being near it brought a sense of peace and relaxation to her.
“Yes! Thank you very much, lord Sebas! I shall work even harder to be worthy of such graciousness!”
Sebas nodded, and walked away.
“Wan. All the food and your quarters have been arranged. If you need anything, just pull the rope to call one of the maids, wan.”
“Y-Yes. Thank you very much for your hospitality.”
Arche bowed, and the sisters, once separated and now reunited, were left alone in front of the luxurious log cabin.
And for the first time in decades, Arche felt all the shackles holding her down finally disappeared, and the weight on her chest lifted.
--------------------------------X--------------------------------
Shalltear appeared from the whirling vortex and stepped into the private meeting room within the Adventurer’s guild.
Her face blushed lightly with a redness supposedly impossible for an undead and her lips widened into a bright smile and curtsied before her beloved master and Aika.
“Yuuji-sama, Aika-sama, I have arrived to give you the report of my mission~!”
Yuuji nodded, prompting Shalltear to continue, and she began reporting everything she had done like a child excitedly telling her parents what she had done in school.
“...Then after capturing her, we sent her to Demiurge to be “baptized” and bring her under our control! She will be completely obedient in four days, three if she’s weaker than expected!”
“Mm. That will be enough time for Blue Rose to assault those points. Good work, Shalltear.”
“Yes~ Thank you very much, Yuuji-sama~”
Shalltear bowed her head deeply, both in gratitude and trying to hide her wide grin.
Just then, she felt a pair of hands on her shoulder slowly sliding down to her arms as they lifted her back up. And the melodic voice of Aika resounded from her right.
“Darling~ She did such a good job~ Shouldn’t you give her the reward she so deserves from her previous mission as well~? You should give her what she had been wishing for~”
Shalltear’s heart, which had never and would not start beating, felt as if it just jumped from her chest.
She had only one wish. Her greatest wish. It was known to all, including Yuuji.
He knew what Peroroncino had written in her settings. Shalltear’s backstory, meant to signify his gratitude for everything Yuuji had done for him. To belong to Yuuji, in heart, body, and soul.
In a way, it was akin to her father’s wish for his daughter to be in the care of the man he respected the most.
Yuuji knew this, and he knew that Shalltear wished for it as well. Perhaps, the only reason why he had not accepted her, feigning a lack of time due to his duties, was due to the restraints of his common sense back in his original world.
Having a Harem, while legalized in his original world and perhaps even encouraged, was still a new thing for him. And although he had accepted Aika, Erika, C.C, Karen, and Albedo, there was still a small part of him that still restrained him.
In a way, it was a good thing, as it prevented him from being the worst kind of person a man could be to the woman he loves and loves him.
But at the same time, he couldn’t let it hurt the woman he loves and who he knew loves him.
Shalltear couldn’t help but look up at Yuuji expectantly. Her eyes were filled with desire. But she held back, worried that Yuuji might reject her.
But then, Yuuji stood up, walked towards her, and lifted her chin with his hand.
Her gaze locked with his, in a moment that felt like an eternity. Then, he lowered himself and kissed her deeply.
“Mm-!!”
Shalltear’s body froze as she tensed from the shock and surprise. Her mind raced, trying to ascertain if she was dreaming even though she was incapable of it.
She could feel his lips pressed against her. His tongue explored every inch of her mouth, teasing her own, as it claimed everything as his own.
Her body lost its strength. Her knees gave out, only to be caught by him as he kissed her even deeper, conveying his desire. His claim to her.
‘He’s claiming me... My heart. My soul. And now, finally, my body~! Yuuji-sama wants me~! Ah~!”
Her entire body tensed and spasmed within his embrace. And the scent of her love juice and pheromones filled the entire room. And it was only until her body loosened after her climax was she released from his kiss.
“Seems like you can’t wait any longer. To cum just from a kiss... Seems like my beautiful little vampire is a pervert.”
“Ah... Hah... Hah... Yuuji-sama~”
Yuuji traced her reddened lips with his thumb before turning towards Aika.
“Then, I’ll be returning first with Shalltear.”
“Uhn~ Have fun~ I’ll go be with Albedo~”
Yuuji nodded, and with a wave of his hand, a massive whirling vortex appeared before them.
With Shalltear still in his embrace, supported solely by him, he walked through the [Gate] and disappeared.
