Chapter 228 ~ The Cry
Having concocted a plan of action, Blue Rose left to begin their own preparation.
Then, Momonga stood up from his seat, and with a wave of a hand, opened a [Gate] portal.
“Well then, I’ll be returning to Nazarick to check on that mage girl’s progress. I’m quite interested how quickly she’ll be leveling up with Sebas power leveling her with Cocytus’s [Dueling Partner] summon.”
“Alright. See you.”
“See you, Momonga~”
Momonga, in his human figure, disappeared into the swirling darkness, leaving Yuuji and Aika along with Lupu.
The werewolf/succubus maid stood at attention behind the two Supreme Beings at a medium distance. Far enough to not intrude on their privacy and space, but still close enough to serve at a moment’s notice.
With Blue Rose gone and the room fully protected against any sort of divination and unwanted eyes or ears, she had returned to being a maid of the Supreme Beings.
And just then, Aika turned towards her.
“Lupu.”
“Yes, Aika-sama.”
She bowed her head as she responded with a voice filled with eagerness to serve yet calm and steady at the same time.
If she were in her werewolf form, Aika would’ve seen her tail wagging back and forth behind her.
“You may return to Nazarick and have some rest. Go and see the rest of the maids and see how they’re handling their new found powers.”
A flash of disappointment for not being able to serve the two Supreme Beings she admired the most appeared within Lupu’s eyes.
“But Aika-sama, if I were to leave, then your protection...”
“Fufu~ We’ll be fine~ We’ll be returning to Nazarick soon as well. You can go first.”
“...Very well.”
Another [Gate] appeared with a wave of Aika’s hand, and the disappointed maid walked through it, and disappeared from the room.
Silence fell into the room before Aika stood up from her seat and went behind her darling, who was lost in thought.
“Whatcha’ thinking about~?”
Her slender arms wrapped around his neck as she pulled him towards her, pressing her breasts against the back of his head.
Feeling the familiar sensation, Yuuji let out a deep sigh and leaned his head back, looking up to Aika from below.
Their lips met, and Aika let out a cute giggle before Yuuji answered.
“I was just thinking about the plan... If it’ll go smoothly. It’s such a convoluted plan with so many working parts. And the more working parts there are, the easier for things to go out of control. After all, we can’t expect things to go exactly as we wish 100% of the time.”
With everything they’ve done, from saving the Swords of Darkness, granting Carne weapons beyond even the Kingdom’s armaments, preventing Shalltear’s brainwashing, assigning Sebas to Baharuth instead of Re-Estize, to using an entirely different plan from Demiurge’s “Jaldabaoth Incursion” in the kingdom, they’ve diverged far from the plot of Overlord that they knew.
Although he didn’t regret the changes they’ve made, they lost the knowledge of the future. The world as they knew it was no longer the same as the world in the anime.
Moreover, this was the first time Yuuji and Lelouch had come up with such a convoluted plan. Although they had the help of Albedo and Demiurge, and the entirety of Nazarick at their disposal, things could still go in unexpected ways.
Since coming into this world, his intelligence and clarity of mind had soared beyond normal human capabilities. But in the end, he was still human mentally, with doubts and hesitation. Nôv(el)B\\jnn
And the stakes were now higher than ever.
“You don’t need to worry that much, darling. Albedo and Demiurge are smart. And you’ve also spread out agents to nudge things the right direction exactly so we can control those unexpected things, right? Just like Shalltear’s mission to kidnap that woman Eight Fingers department head who used the crown prince’s mansion the most. I’m sure she’ll “gladly” help us make sure everyone falls into our trap.”
Yuuji closed his eyes for a moment, enjoying his beloved’s embrace, and smiled softly.
“Yes. you’re right. I’m just overthinking.”
Aika caressed his cheek softly as she peppered his forehead with kisses.
“Fufu~ You should relax a bit. And maybe when Shalltear came to report, you should give her her long deserved reward.”
“Hmm, that’s a good idea. What do you think I should give her.”
“Hehe~ Of course, there’s only one thing she wants, darling~ It’s you~”
“Eh?”
Yuuji opened his eyes and saw Aika smiling widely at him.
“Her horniness for you have been radiating ever since we first met her, darling. And I know you care for her, so why don’t you just give her what she wants? Give the biggest masochist of Nazarick a good dicking! She’s an undead, so she won’t be harmed if you choke her or slam your big dick into her tiny pussy~”
“Aika...”
Yuuji blushed, but words of denial couldn’t even escape his lips, since they were all true.
“Hehe~ I know your taste very well, darling~ And it’s crueler to make her wait. She waited long enough. So stop lying to yourself and fuck her good~ Look, she’s already coming~”
“Eh?”
Just then, a swirling black portal appeared within the room, right before them. From it, a familiar, beautiful, petite, doll-like vampire dressed in her usual gown stepped out of the swirling vortex.
Was she going to do nothing... yet again?
"Please! My lord, don't take her!"
A very thin older man pleaded, he and his wife knelt inside their door and their hands were up and pleading. The village head and his wife, respected amongst the villagers, now at the mercy of a boy half his age.
"Show mercy! We paid our taxes didn't we?"
"Yes, but it wasn't really enough, the least you can do is obey like good dogs."
He nudged the girl's leg with his foot
"Yes, dogs, and she's just a bitch."
He laughed at his own sick joke.
"Now come on, you!"
The young “lord” reached down and pulled at the girl by her wrist, dragging her through the dust and dirt, causing her to yelp in pain as her skin scraped against the rocky ground.
Then, something finally snapped in Ninya’s mind as her blood turned from ice, to a burning, raging fire.
“Let her go!" She shouted, and the noble, the villagers, even Tina, froze at the unspoken disbelief that someone had said the impossible.
The lordling looked at her, with eyes widened in shock and disbelief, and exclaimed.
"Excuuuuuse me! Don't you know who I am?! I'm Lord Philip, these are my lands, peasants, and therefore this is my business, not yours."
‘Stupid adventurers!’
Philip cursed inwardly at the uneducated filths who didn’t even know the face of the person who ruled and owned the places they visited.
‘As soon as I’m the official lord, I’ll put a tax on their passing through every single village in my territory and make them come pay their respects to me personally!’
He turned to his guards, disregarding the lowly peasant adventurer.
"Take the bitch and put her in the carriage! Hurry up!”
"I said let her go, you piece of shit!"
Ninya brought her staff up as the words of Alexander echoed in her mind, 'Protecting the people is only natural for those with the strength to do it.'
"H-Hiii-! P-Put that one down!"
Philip shrieked and waved a hand toward Ninya.
"Magic arrow!"
Ninya cast her spell, and arrows of light flashed through the air and pierced through the guard’s cheap armor.
Her shout snapped the rest of her friends, and the chaos drew out the other guards from the other side of the carriage where they were out of sight the previous moment.
Lit by torches, the Swords of Darkness needed to know only one thing. That their teammate, their friend, was in trouble.
Lukrut nocked an arrow into his bow and let go, planting an arrow right into a guard’s throat.
Peter charged the moment Ninya cast her spell, only to be beaten by Lukrut’s arrow, and clashed with another, who clumsily waved his spear with a shout more of fear than bravery. He ducked beneath the spear’s thrust, and cut the man before him in two with a slash from his enchanted sword.
Roberdyke handled the last, shoulder charging them to the ground before bringing his mace down to break his rib cage and smashing his heart with a sickening crunch of bone and a disgusting splat.
Ninya ran with a cry more of hysteria than spirit to the noble, raised her staff, and slammed the young man in the face and head.
Blood splattered as screams of pain from the lordling resounded throughout the streets.
Holding her staff in two hands, brought it up and down on the youth’s head. Each sound of bones breaking and bloody flesh squelching resounded, only to be drowned out by her shrieks and his screams of pain.
It wasn't until she felt a trembling body and lithe arms wrap around her waist and pushed her back that she stopped seeing red and saw what she had done.
The head was a caved-in wreck, the young man who identified himself as 'Philip' was very dead and beyond recognition.
Blood stained the ground, a pool of it gathering inside a dent the size of the bloody top of her staff.
She breathed heavily, catching her breath from the exhaustion, adrenaline, and sheer shock and fear of what she had done.
"No more! No goddamn more!"
Ninya shouted her rage at the uncaring sky.
The villagers looked at the dead guards and the dead lordling. Those who seemed invincible at first, now bloodied and dead.
They bleed. They were frail. They were not Gods.
And with the fatal wound, Tina’s father and mother approached the dead guards and picked up the fallen weapons.
Then, a battle cry resounded. A shout, born of desperation, anger, and determination, threatening to split the clouds in the sky.
No more.
