"Thank you for the offer, but we're good." Yun Tian said without any hesitation. That made Captain Fang reveal a frown. He had even gone out of his way to invite Yun Tian in front of everyone like this, showing just how he valued him. That was what made Yun Tian's rejection sting even more. But in the end, it didn't seem like he blamed Yun Tian for this matter. Instead, it seemed like he was blaming this matter on me with the way that he turned to look at me. It was almost as if I was stealing his friend from him with the way that he looked at me. Since we were in front of everyone like this, Captain Fang had no choice but to accept this decision from Yun Tian. Though he did shoot one last look in my direction as if he wouldn't forget this matter. After the meeting, Yun Tian looked at me with an apologetic look as he said, "I'm sorry for getting you caught up in this." A trace of bitterness appeared on my face, but that turned into a bitter smile in the end as I said, "It's fine. There's nothing that can be done, it's clear that he's just that kind of person." Yun Tian gave a nod and a sigh before saying, "He's just that kind of person. I'll talk to someone about it, that should stop him from doing anything." I gave a nod, but I really wasn't expecting anything. Though in the first place, it wasn't as if he would actually be able to do anything to me. After all, it wasn't as if the Abyss Guards would lose to the Abyss Demons. There was a reason why all of these Abyss Guards had been gathered and why they weren't calling for the soldiers. They were confident that they would be able to deal with anything that came at them. After this formation was taken, it took another half a day before the Abyss Demons came. They had come right when it would have been the middle of the night outside, but there was no such thing as night in this Abyss dungeon. Though even then, the Abyss Guards were ready. The scouts of the Abyss Guards couldn't be looked down on, they were very skilled at their jobs and had been tracking the Abyss Demons the entire time. So they were able to tell exactly when the Abyss Demons arrived. With this information, it was easy to tell that the Abyss Demons had planned this in a way that they would strike when they thought we would have our guards down. After all, we were humans that adapted to the flow of time in our world. Our bodies would be used to sleeping at this time. It was just that knowing when they would come allowed us to know when to sleep, so we were all fresh when the Abyss Demons arrived. "First wave, deal with them." That was the order that was given by all of the captains when they saw the appearance of these Abyss Demons. Once this order was given, the first wave of Abyss Guards charged out to deal with the Abyss Demons. With the way that they charged out, it was almost as if they were heading out to grab bargains at the supermarket. Their eyes were filled with excitement as they looked at the Abyss Demons in front of them. After all, what they were seeing were contribution points rather than Abyss Demons. The first wave of Abyss Demons that charged out didn't have a single high ranked Abyss Demons. This was a wave of low rank Abyss Demons that were just there to pad the numbers. They were nothing more than cannon fodder that had been sent out by the Abyss Demons to test the Abyss Guards. Since that was the case, there was no reason why they shouldn't accept the present that the Abyss Demons were sending.
